Chapter 17

Ashley's P.O.V.

After the hectic weekend I had it was time to return to rehearsal. Opening night is in less than a month. I coulnd't concentrate at all today. All I could think about was how Joe could such an awful thing to Iris. When I saw Joe today I couldn't look at him. I was screwing up so much. I didn't remember my lines and couldn't remember which dance step was in what song. During lunch I turned my head and saw the director walking towards me.

"Ashley, can I have a word with you please?" he asked.

"Yeah. Sure." I said getting up and walked over to a corner so we could talk in private.

"Is something wrong? Today you just seem out of it."

"Nothing is wrong. Just had a bad morning. That's all." I said.

I returned to the table where the whole cast was sitting eating lunch. I sat beside Nick and Joe sat beside Nick. Joe was talking about something but I wasn't interested anymore in what he had to say. Nick noticed that I wasn't me today. Not really talkative. I kept myself today. Everytime he would ask me "what's wrong" I would say nothing, i'm just tired. I still don't think he believes me. When practice was over, Mom was waiting in the car to take me home. When we got home I was headed to my room but I heard Ashley blasting music. I walked into her room and flopped on her bed.

"What's the matter with you?"

"You'll never guess this. Do you remember when I went out to eat with Sarah and Iris. Well Joe was there and he wasn't with us. He was with some girl that we don't know. They were all giggly and happy together. And the worst thing is that they were holding hands."

"Wow. That doesn't seem like Joe. Maybe you mistakened the guy for Joe.

"No. That was most deffinitley Joe."

"Hm. That's wierd."

"Yeah. Well I'm going to get a shower and go to bed. Goodnight twin."

"Night."

I got a shower and then layed in my bed and tried to get some sleep. Around 10:30 I got a phone call. It was Nick.

"Hey Nick"

"Hey. What's up?"

"Trying to get some sleep."

"Oh sorry. I'll let you sleep. I just wanted to check if you were okay. I know that you weren't tired today."

"Awe. Something is bothering me and I want to tell you but I don't know how to. It's wierd."

"I'll understand Ashley.'

I'll tell you....tomorrow. When I see you. It has to be in person. Okay?"

"Alright. Well I will let you sleep. Sweet dreams Ash."

"Goodnight Nick."

i figured i would post a new chapter right now before everything tomorrow.

Chapter 18

Ashley's P.O.V.

Today was a way much better day than yesterday. When I got to the theater Nick was already there. I still didn't know how I was going to say it. I guess I'm just going to wing it.

"Hey Nick. Come here." I said dragging him to the back of the theater.

"So whats that thing you need to tell me." he said.

"Okay. I know this is going to be hard to believe but it's true. Your brother...Joe, he's cheating on Iris."

"What? No he's not. He would never do a thing like that."

I then told Nick the whole story. How we were eating lunch and we saw Joe holding hands with this blonde girl. He didn't know whether to believe me or not. No one has really talked to Iris since she spotted Joe. Sarah and I always text or call but we never hear from her. She doesn't even text Joe anymore. After we were finished talking we headed down front and began. 

At lunch we sat at the same table with the same people.

"Ashley. Have you heard from Iris lately? She won't text me back or pick up when I call her." joe said.

"Hm. I wonder why." I said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" he said confused.

"Oh. Uh. Nothing." I said realizing I said somthing stupid.

Joe kept nagging me all day about what I meant. It wasn't my right to tell him that we saw him cheating on his girlfriend. I told him to talk to Iris in person. And so he did.

Joe's P.O.V.

Since Iris I haven't spoken to Iris is like 3 days I'm starting to get worried. Is she mad? She won't pick up her phone or answer her texts. I got in my car and drove over to her house. I parked in the drive way and walked up to the door. I rang the doorbell and then the door opened. It was Iris.

"What do you want?" she said hesitating to close the door.

"Huh. I came over to see you. I haven't talked to you in a few days. Are you okay?" I asked.

"Oh. Like you care. Why don't you just leave and go visit your other little girlfriend...the blonde one."

"Wh-What are you talking about Iris?"

"Joe don't act like you don't know. Ashley, Sarah, and I all saw you at the pizza place on Sunday with her. You were holding hands. You lying, cheating, piece of cr-" she said before I interrupted her.

"She's not my girlfriend. Just a good friend. You're my girlfriend and I love you."

"NO! No you don't. I hate you. Just go. Get off of my porch and get out of my life. Forever." she said slamming the door shut.

When I heard the loud sound of the closing I finally realized what I had done. I lost the one thing that really mattered to me. I know it probably doesn't seem like it but I really do love her. Why did I ever go out with Amy. I made a big mistake. I think that all the fighting that Iris and I did made me want someone new but after this fight we had it made me realize that I don't want anyone else but her. I will do everything and anything to get her back.
