Chapter 10

    “Yeah, and I found you.” Kate said smiling.

    “First, things first. Here.” Joe said as he handed Kate her keys.

    “Thanks.” Kate said as she took it.

    “Cute photo.” Joe said with a smile. “Now I have nothing, to look at anymore.” He added.

    “Why look at the photo. When you can see the real thing?” Kate said laughing.

    “Good point, good point.” Joe said. “Would it be rude, to ask for you number though?”

    “No, of course not.” Kate said with a smile. She took out her sidekick and exchanged numbers with Joe.

    “Now, I wouldn’t have to pray that I see you somewhere, or broadcast it on Ryan’s show.” Joe slipped.

    “You what?” Kate said laughing.

    “Nothing, nothing.” Joe said laughing. “So, you seemed a bit uncomfortable awhile ago on stage.” He added.

    “Yeah, big crowds. So not my thing.” Kate said shaking her head.

    “Oh, stage fright?” Joe said.

    “Sort of.” Kate replied.

    “Me too.” Joe said.

    “You? No way! Hahaha, you practically rip your pants doing those awesome stunts! Joe Jonas? Stage fright?” Kate said.

    “Yeah, I do! I just don’t like to show it.” Joe said with a smile. “I’m really superman you know. I can’t be afraid of anything.” He grinned.

    “Okay, super-Joe. Hahaha.” Kate said.

    Across the room, Kevin was on his phone. Texting his girlfriend, Michelle.

    “I am SO going to beat you!” Bea said.

    “No way!” Nick said.

    The two were so into the game, then BAM. Everything went black.

    “OHMYGOD!” Bea screamed and suddenly hugged someone.

    And Kate, held onto Joe’s hand by accident. After 2 minutes the lights were back on, and everyone could see Bea hugging on Nick with her eyes tightly shut.

    “The lights are back.” Nick whispered quietly.

    Bea opened her eyes and realized what she was doing.

    “I am SO sorry.” Bea said and immediately let go of Nick and moved away, away.

    “It’s okay.” Nick said with smile, she’s really cute.

    Bea just smiled but was still so embarrassed. After awhile, Kate’s dad called.

    “Uhm, Joe we have to go. It’s getting late and my dad’s starting to worry.” Kate said.

    “Sure. It’s alright.” Joe said with smile.

    “I’ll see you soon?” Kate said.

    “Of course.” Joe said. They hugged, and Kate went to Kevin.

    “Hey, we’re going to go. Thanks Kev.” Kate said and gave him a hug.

    Bea knew they were about to leave she said.

    “So, uhm. Thanks Nick. And sorry, for you know..” Bea said still embarrassed.

    “It’s okay, don’t worry about it. But uhm, is it okay if I get your number? You know, if you want to hang out or something?” Nick said with a smile.

    “Sure. Then I can beat you in Guitar Hero again.” Bea said with a smile and the two exchanged numbers.

    “So, uhm thanks again you guys.” Kate said.

    “It was nice meeting all of you.” Bea added.

    “Nice meeting you!” Kevin said.

    “Same here.” Nick said with a smile looking at Bea.

    So Joe, accompanied the two girls to Kate’s car.

    “Would it be too soon, to ask you to hang out tomorrow? It wouldn’t be a date, you can bring Bea and I’ll bring Nick and Kevin.” Joe said.

    “Sure, why not? If Bea’s up to it.” Kate said and they both looked at Bea.

    “Yeah, definitely.” Bea said.

    “Okay then, so I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” Joe said and suddenly leaned in and gave Kate a kiss on the cheek.

    “Bye.” Kate said smiling.

    “Bye.” Joe said.

    And the two girls went in the car and headed home.

Chapter 11

    In the car

    “OHMYGOD. Please pinch me!” Bea said, Kate pinched her.

    “Ouch! Not literally!” Bea said.

    “Anyways, tonight was AMAZING. Nick is so cute! And he smelled so good!” Bea said dreamily.

    “Oh, so you did that on purpose!” Kate said laughing.

    “Yeah, cause I planned the whole blackout so I could get to smell Nick.” Bea said.

    “Uhuh.” Kate said, smiling while looking at the road ahead.

    “Admit it, you had fun.” Bea said.

    “Yeah, I did.” Kate said.

    “So tomorrow, right?” Bea said.

    “Yup.” Kate said with a smile.

    Meanwhile when the girls left, Nick was talking to Kevin about Bea.

    “I found it really cute when she hugged me, and she smelled nice. She smelled like, heaven on earth.” Nick said.

    “What?” Kevin asked looking at his brother in a weird way.

    “What? I couldn’t describe it, it wasn’t floral, it wasn’t fruity.” Nick said.

    “Stop with the smell.” Kevin said with a laugh. “So you like her?”

    “I think so, but I think it’s too soon to tell.” Nick said.

    Then Joe came in the room.

    “So, guys is it okay if we hang out with Kate and Bea tomorrow?” Joe asked.

    “Can’t. I’m meeting Michelle tomorrow. Haven’t seen my girl in awhile. Sorry bro.” Kevin said.

    “Oh, okay. Nick? Please? Pretty please?” Joe said.

    “Yeah, sure.” Nick said with a huge smile on his face.

    “Something’s up. You like Bea don’t you?” Joe raised his eyebrow.

    “Maybe.” Nick said with a shrug.

    Then they had to pack up and they were drove home.

    The two arrived at Kate’s place and they stayed in Kate’s room watching Gossip Girl, with chocolate bars, and cookie dough ice cream laid on the floor. Suddenly Kate’s sidekick beeped. She was about to get it when Bea grabbed it first.

    “HEY!” Kate said laughing.

    Bea pushed Kate and flipped her sidekick, it was a message from Joe.

    Joe: Hi! So did you girls get home safely?

    “OOOOHH. It’s Romeo!” Bea said.

    “Give it!” Kate said and she finally got it from her cousin.

    She read the message and instantly smiled.

    Kate: Yeah. :] And you guys?
    Joe: Yeah, we’re home. Thanks for asking. So tomorrow right?
    Kate: Of course. : ] With Kevin and Nick?
    Joe: Uhm, Kevin can’t go. But Nick’s going to be there.
    Kate: Alright. :] So where are we meeting up?
    Joe: Starbucks good?
    Kate: Sure.
    Joe: Okay. :]
    Joe: Well, goodnight mi’lady.
    Kate: Goodnight super-Joe.
    Joe: Haha, sleep tight. Don’t let the bed bugs bite.

    “So, we’re meeting them tomorrow at Starbucks.” Kate said.

    “Ah. I can’t wait to see them again!” Bea said, while grabbing a spoonful of ice cream.

    “Yeah, me too.” Kate said smiling.

    ***

    The next day, Kate woke up because her phone wouldn’t stop ringing. She was about to get it from her side table then OOF!

    She fell off her bed. She took her phone and saw the name of the caller. 
   
    JOE.

    Then she answered it.

    “Hello?” Kate said sleepily.   

    “HEY! Goodmorning sunshine.” Joe said.

    “Joe? It’s-“ She looked at the clock 8.

    “It’s 8.” Kate said laughing but still sleepy.

    “Did I wake you?” Joe said, starting to sound depressed.

    “Yeah, but it’s fine. I was about to wake up anyway.” Kate said reassuring him.

    “Oh, yay! So I’ll see you in awhile right?” Joe said.

    “Yes, haha.” Kate said.

    “I just wanted to hear your voice, to start my day.” Joe said.

    “Okay, lame. Haha. But sweet.” Kate said.

    “Haha, alright well till later my dear!” Joe said.

    “Till later.” Kate said laughing.
