Ashley’s Point Of View:
Finally Joe and Iris walked back out of the house, smiles scattered all over their faces. They were walking hand in hand, until Iris peered over to see the distraught look that took over Kevin’s face. Joe and Iris sat down besides me, and I just looked at them. I wanted to break the awkward silence more than anything. Nick turned towards me, looking at me. As if he was trying to read my mind with my facial expressions.
He reached into his pocket, bringing out his cell phone. He glanced a small smile at me. His fingers quickly typed across his phone, as he fumbled to press send. I suddenly then felt a vibration coming from my pocket. I looked at him and motioned towards my phone. I quickly grabbed it, to find out the text message was from Nick. Which didn’t surprise me.
Ready for that ice cream?

I couldn’t help but smile, in an odd way. I didn’t know if it was because it was from Nick, or because of what it said, or even the way it was done. I felt a smile overwhelming my face and a giggle I just couldn’t help but control. I let out a breath, as he looked at me with the same smile across his face.
I got up motioning for the door as Nick followed. Joe turned towards Iris, as they both turned towards Nick and I. I looked at Nick, and bit my lip to fight the awkwardness. “So uhm. Yeah, Nick and I are uh. Going out. We’ll be back in uhm, a bit.” I stuttered to try and release the words.
Nick and I went to say goodbye to Denise, and let her know where we were going.
“ASHLEEEYYY, ARE YOU READY TO GO?” Frankie came running down the stairs, nearly collapsing me to the ground.
“Aweh, hey Frankie. We have to postpone for tomorrow, but I promise we will go tomorrow. Okay?” I gave him a hug as he had a bit of a sad smirk on his face.
“Okay I guess.” He glared towards Nick. Frankie put his head down and began to walk back up the stairs.
“Love you Frankie!” I yelled up, being sure he heard me. I then heard a somewhat silent “love you too Ashley!”
Nick and I walked towards the front door, and walked back outside. I then nearly felt my stomach in my throat, and I couldn’t breath. What was I doing?
