Eyes Wide Closed
Bluish green eyes that were tinted with brown slowly closed as she sat in the quiet room. She had never been so bored in her life and she knew bored, she often just sat doing nothing playing with her hands. Suddenly she feels an arm wrap around her shoulder and her eyes fly open expecting to see one of her brothers or his friends but she spots a very unfamiliar brunette haired boy. He smiles and leads her away from her chair out of the quiet room and down the street to a Starbucks.
“So… you are,” she asks looking at his through her dark brown hair?
“Kevin… You’re Crystal,” he says ordering for both of them.
“Yea how did you know my name,” Crystal asks looking at him frowning?
“We’ve met before Crystal if we didn’t why would I be taking you on a date,” he asks with a cheeky grin?
“We’re on a date,” Crystal asks completely and totally shocked?
“Yea. You know you always make me smile Crys. Even back in the beginning when you used to call me your power ranger. Which I still say Transformers could kill Power Rangers but whatever. I love your shirt by the way,” Kevin replies.
Crystal’s eyes fly down to her shirt and she realizes that it’s bright red and has his face on it. Now she’s thoroughly confused, when she left that morning she was wearing a red sweater over a black t-shirt but now she was wearing a red shirt with his face on it? How was that possible? She rolls her eyes figuring that she just forgot what she was wearing or confused her outfits. She smiles at him and then looks over his outfit. He’s wearing black skinny jeans with a gray and pink-shirt and a gray vest.
“Love yours too,” Crystal says sipping her drink.
They chat for the next few hours until he stands saying he had to leave and when she looks at her watch she realizes that she has to leave also. It’s nearly dark and her roommates will worry. They agree to meet again the next day for coffee again and walk off smiling.
For the next three weeks they meet every day getting coffee and muffins and chatting getting to know one another. Soon they are dating and she is going with him to all of his shows. She loves his quirky fashion sense and the voice that he only shares with her. He loves how goofy she is and that she is random as can be.
A few months later he has to leave for tour and she watches sadly as his bus drives off. He calls every day, and writes her long letters, always accompanied by some little trinket which he says reminds him of her. Their relationship is strained and she almost calls it off but she knows that she loves him to death.
When he returns almost a full year later they both have changed, she’s chopped her hair off and gotten contacts to wear instead of her glas.ses and he’s stopped straightening his hair instead allowing it to curly uncontrollably and he won’t sing to her anymore.
They fight, something that they had never done before but it’s always followed by a quick apology and a kiss to make up. They yell and scream, but it’s always in good faith more often than not ending in laughter and giggles. She listens to him as he plays his guitar and hears a bit of sorrow behind every note.
Slowly their routine returns, getting a cup of coffee together every day and then one day he doesn’t show up. She is shocked and angry, because most days their little coffee dates, those are the only times she seems him. She doesn’t know what to do so she dials his phone and waits for him to answer. He ignores her call and she leaves him a message, asking for him to call her when he gets the chance.
It’s a full three days before he calls her back and by then she doesn’t want to hear it. He explains how he lost his phone any ways, and tells her about how he didn’t remember that he had a concert in Mexico. He invites her to dinner to celebrate their two-year anniversary and she slowly accepts.
Dinner that night was perfect, every last bit of it. They don’t even fight like she was sure that they would have. He took her for a walk on the beach after dinner and their in the moon light while she looked happily up at the sky and wished on a star he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
Her answer was of course and soon they were deep in plans trying not to let the world know that they were getting married but it was slowly getting harder. She had a huge diamond ring on her finger and he was forever parading her around looking at furniture for their new house. It also didn’t help that they spotted her one-day looking at wedding dresses.
The wedding was gorgeous and both were excited to finally be man and wife with one another. They hurry off after the reception to their honeymoon in the beautiful Barcelona, and spend their days together enjoying the company. Soon they have to return to his life as a rock star and hers as his everything.
Not that long after his next tour starts does she realize that she is carrying his child. She goes to doctors appointments alone as he performs all across the world. And soon the baby is ready to be born. She doesn’t want to go through that alone also but it seems like she has no choice.
She pushes when she’s told and right as her handsome son emerges into the world he rushes into the room, straight to her side, his hand holding her own. They cry tears of joy looking at the little baby who has her eyes and his hair. The happy family lives as happily as possible for as long as possible before he has to leave again.
She’s fine with it just happy that he was there for the birth of Paul Kevin Jonas III. Raising their son on the road would be a lot harder than it was for her alone so she was fine, she also had his parents there to help her. The sound of a ring tone playing causing Crystal to open the eyes she had just shut.
Whoa, I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now.
Whoa, it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now.
But God does it feel so good,
Cause I got him where I want him now.
And if you could then you know you would.
It's gonna just feel so...
It just feels so good.
Her eyes fly open and she realizes that none of it was real, that everything that just happened to her was all a dream. She sighs and looks down at her phone grinning as she spots the message.
Did you have the same dream as me?
Her eyes move shyly to the brunette boy sitting in the back of the room and she nods her head causing him to smile. It might have just been a dream but it might just become reality.
