Chapter 4

Joe’s Point Of View
I stand in the kitchen cutting up the ingredients for the salad when Brea comes in and asks,
“Isn’t Jasmine in charge of that?”
“Yeah but I haven’t see her since she went up to call your Mom about fifteen minutes ago.”
Brea came over and took the knife from me.
“Go check on her I’ll finish this.”
I left the kitchen and went upstairs to Jasmine’s room the door is ajar, opening it the rest of the way I walked in to find the room empty. Getting ready to call her name I hear faint crying coming from the balcony, walking over and out onto the balcony I turn to see Jasmine sitting in the corner crying. Running over I quickly get down next to her and bring her in my arms. Like a helpless lost child she cried into my chest and I did the only thing I knew would calm her down I sang to her.
“I walked across the crowded street. A sea of eyes, they cut through me. And I saw you in the middle. Your upset face, you wear it well. You camouflage the way you feel, when everything's the matter.”
As I continued to sing ‘Take A Breath’ to her not even half way through the song I felt her calm down, when she stopped crying I pulled her away from me and wiped the tears away.
“What happened Jas?”
“I called my Mom and she told me that Dad didn’t come home last night. I could tell that she was worried so I told her not to worry and she blew up on me yelled at me said that she hasn’t said anything that I was just trying to start a fight. I tired to tell her that I was just trying to help her and she just said I’m mad over something else and just wanted to start a fight. We hung up from each other, I was just trying to calm her down and she got mad at me.”
I tuck a piece of hair behind her ear.
“She’s just over stress Jas I’m sure she didn’t meant it.”
“I know it just upsets me that it happened.”
“I know but everything will be okay she’ll call you and apologize or call and you two will act like nothing happened.”
She nodded I know she’s still upset and I want to make things better I really do.
“Perk up Jas it’s time to P A R T Y, par-ty.”
She laughed I knew I could get her to laugh; we got up and went into her room where she went into the bathroom and splashed some water on her face. When she came out she walked over to where I sit on the edge of her bed but she didn’t know that she had left her duffle bag on the floor just a few feet in front of hr till it was too late and she tripped over it. She tumbles forward towards me, catching her in my arms we both fall back onto her bed with me under her. We both laugh and look at each other.
“Who’s the one that’s all the time falling now?”
I asked playfully referring to Jasmine’s comment about how I am all the time falling. We both laughed and a gust of wind from the open balcony doors whipped Jasmine’s hair around and I reached up and moved it from her face. Looking up at her I don’t know what came over me but I cupped the back of her neck pulled her face down and pressed my lips to hers, it didn’t take long for her to react to me and the kiss to turn passionate and soon our little lip lock turned into a hot full on make out session where I flipped us over with her now under me. My lips trail kisses down and across her neck and as little moans and sounds escape her mouth I know I have to stop, so bringing my lips back to her lips we continued to kiss for a few more minutes till we hear Brea’s voice,
“Oh snap.”
We pulled apart me jumping up on my knees away from Jasmine to see Brea standing in the doorway with her hand over her mouth. Jasmine sat up then quickly jumped off the bed fixing her hair and shirt, I got up too fixing my hair and tank top.
“Brea what was that oh snap about?”
We hear Harper’s voice say, as it gets closer up the stairs, Brea gives us a stern look and walked away.
“Oh just uh nothing hey lets go help Kevin and Nick with the grill.”
I didn’t hear Harper’s voice so thank god she bought what Brea said. I look at Jasmine who is looking down at the floor then up at me then nearly ran out of the room. That’s when I hit me the promise; I broke a promise to her.

Jasmine’s Point Of View
When I left my room I walked down the hall as quickly has my feet could take me and I went into the bathroom where I shut and locked the door. Once the door is shut I lean against it with my eyes shut taking deep breath after deep breath. Okay Jasmine Julianne Anderson get a hold of yourself it was just a kiss, oh who am I kidding it was more then just a kiss it was the best make out session I ever had. No, no, no stop thinking like that he’s your best friend. Pushing away from the door I go over to he sink turn it on then splash some cold water on my face. It happened again I can’t believe I let it happen again I told myself after the first kiss last summer no we both told each other that day it would never happen again.
Flashback…
Brea and Kevin just told everyone that they are now dating, my heart broke into a million pieces but I put on a happy face, congratulated them and told them that I am happy for them.  Then the first chance I got I bolted from the house without anyone seeing and walked along the beach till came to my favorite spot along the beach where hug rocks stick out from the beach. Climbing up on the rocks I took a seat pulling my knees up to my chest I lay my head on my knees and cried, I feel like my entire world has come tumbling down on me. The boy that I have been crushing on since the moment I have meant him is dating my older sister, this sucks he should be with me not Brea. God I hate this I hate Brea for taking Kevin away from me and I hate Kevin for choosing Brea, why did he choose her over me? Am I not pretty enough, funny enough, smart enough? What?
“Jas you okay?”
Wiping my tears away with back of my hand I look over to my right to see Joe standing there, concern and just as much disappointment in his eyes that I have. He likes Brea so if anyone knows how I feel right now its Joe.
“No not really.”
I said leaning my chin on my knees looking out at the ocean. A few moments later I feel Joe wrap his arm around my shoulders and lean his head against mine.
“I know it sucks Jas.”
He said to me silent tears start to steam down my face again we sat there for a little while not saying a word just looking out at the ocean. I don’t know how long we sat there but the sun started to go down so Joe said,
“We should be getting back to the house before someone comes looking for us.”
I nodded turned and look at Joe.
“Thanks Joe for being here.”
He moved a piece of hair away from my face then ran his finger down my cheek, we stared at each other our faces growing closer and closer together and before I knew it his lips are on mine. At first I didn’t know what to do then I wrapped my arms around his neck and the kiss deepened, we kissed for a few moments god this boy can kiss. His lips are so soft and just wow. We probably would have continued but we heard,
“Oh my god.”
Breaking apart we look down to our right to see Brea and Kevin staring at us, both Joe and me turned beat red then looked down. Nor Brea or Kevin said anything in fact no one did we sat in a very comfortable silence for a few till Kevin said,
“Uh, mm yeah we uh just came out to see where you guys went. It’s getting late.”
 Joe and me nodded getting down from the rocks following Kevin and Brea back to the house no one saying a word. When we got to the back gate Kevin and Brea went in and Joe was just about too but I stopped him.
“Um Joe promise me you will tell no one about you know.”
“Sure what about Brea and Kevin?”
He asked.
“I think they know not to say anything, listen can we promise that, that will never happen again.”
“Promise.”
Joe said.
“Promise.”
I said walking into the back yard then into the house.
End Of Flashback…
We broke a promise to each other and that’s the first, god he’s a great kisser. No, no, no Jasmine stop, stop it. A knock on the door broke me out of my thoughts.
“Jasmine it’s me can I come in.”
It’s Brea, grabbing the washcloth I dried my face then said,
“Yeah.”
The door opened and Brea walks in shutting the door behind her she looks at me.
“What?”
I asked.
“You okay?”
I smiled and chuckled.
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
She shrugged her shoulders.
“I’m so confused Brea.”
That just sort of came out I didn’t really mean to say it.
“About what?”
She asked.
“Joe I mean Joe and me. I just god it’s so complicated, he’s my best friend Brea but this is the second time that we’ve kissed. What does it mean?”
“Well you two do spend like every waking minute of the day with each other, you’re beautiful and Joe well he’s just smoking hot.”
I had to smile and laugh cause well Brea is right Joe is smoking hot.
“It’s only a matter of time before you find each other well finding yourselves doing and thinking these things. I think that maybe deep down that.”
Before Brea could finish there is a knock at the door.
“Whoever is in there needs to be less time on the can and more time getting all this food done.”
We both laughed at Nick’s voice the both of us laughing Brea opened the door and we walked out.
“Wait, what, what were you two doing in there?”
We both laughed.
“Girl stuff Nicholas, girl stuff.”
Brea said Nick got a confused and grossed out look on his face and we walked away laughing.

I just want to let everyone know that due to the fact that I have caught my sister's cold I will not be updating till I am at least 60% better or to the point where I feel like I want to go on the computer. Sorry everyone. :(
