Finally! A new chapter. Not very long, kind of a filler, but I'm already working on Chapter 6 which should be much longer. Comments are much appreciated :) Thanks & Enjoy!!
Chapter 5
Melanie and Elayna hurried through the venue frantically looking for an exit. Elayna needed fresh air now and Mel knew it. Finally they broke through to the outside and Elayna began gasping and collapsed to the ground. Mel quickly lowered herself next to her friend.
“He called didn’t he,” Mel said while caressing her best friends back.
All Elayna could do was nod. One month. One entire month she went without hearing from her. She thought he was gone. That is was over. The nightmare had ended, hadn’t it?
“And then Kevin kissed you?”
Elayna immediately reached up to touch her lips. That was the first kiss she has shared with a boy that didn’t make her hate herself afterwards. Kissing Kevin was nothing like kissing him. When she kissed him she felt obligation, demands, fright. When she kissed Kevin she felt free, loved, alive.
“Elayna, what happened?” Elayna suddenly snapped back from her thoughts.
“I didn’t expect him to call. And then Kevin looked almost, disappointed, when I mentioned it was a guy. And then next thing I know, we are kissing. It was all so fast, but it was wonderful. Mel, I haven’t felt like this in so long. But I can’t do this. Not with him still around.” Elayna began to tear up.
“E. Honey don’t cry. He isn’t worth it. We will take care of him, but you can’t let him ruin this. He has already done so much to you, you have to be able to stop him. Kevin really likes you, I can tell. And Joe can tell. We talked about it while you guys were gone. Not everyone is a bad guy Elayna. Trust me.”
Elayna knew that her friend was right. Slowing she picked herself off the ground and took a deep long breath. She had one more fight left in her and this time she was going to win.
::Kevin’s POV::
Kevin was slouching on the couch staring at the spot on the wall across from him. He usually loved lockdown. Just him and his brothers, hanging out, preparing for the show. But right now he wanted nothing more than to run out of this room and look for Elayna. He just couldn’t wrap his head around what happened. The scene kept replaying over and over again in his head. The phone call. The happiness drain from her face. His disappointment. That kiss. That kiss. He had never felt that way kissing a girl. Elayna brought out something from deep within him and it made him feel more alive that he had ever felt before. Did she feel the same? His thoughts became interpreted by a stabbing pain in his side, Joe.
“Kevin. Hello? Pay attention to meeeeee,” whined Joe.
“What Joe? What do you want?” Kevin snapped back.
Joe took immediate note of the tone in Kevin’s voice and softened his look.
“She likes you man. Don’t over think the situation. Trust me. I’m sure there is something you don’t know.”
Kevin seemed to take comfort in Joe’s words. He got up and crossed the room.
“You up for some beat down on guitar hero Joe?” Kevin grinned.
“Any time brother, any time.” Joe retorted back.
