He stood in his room, adjusting his tie. His nerves were getting the best of him, even though he’d been out with Nicole a million times before. Tonight was special. You see, tonight he was going to introduce her to the world. He thought that after year and a half, it was time to show them the reason why he smiled; he was in love and he wasn’t going to hide it any longer.

His brothers waited for him impatiently in their limo, which would be taking them to the VMA’s in style. They didn’t have dates to this prestigious event; love hadn’t found them like it had Nick. Finally emerging from their house and entering the limo, he recited her address to the driver as they pulled away from the curb.

Finally the limo slowed and Nick climbed out, heading for her door. His brothers stayed behind at his request, he didn’t need them to make things more difficult than they had to be, which they often did. He rang the doorbell and waited anxiously for his date to appear. The door opened there she stood, beauty at its best. A simple but elegant midnight blue dress complimented her frame. Loose curls fell to her shoulders, her eyes caught his and she smiled. Nick felt like he had died and went to heaven, because before him stood an angel, his dream girl.

They arrived at the VMA’s and Nick allowed his brothers to exit the limo before he did. Once he was out, he turned and extended his hand to Nicole who graciously accepted it. Flashes went off, and reporters and photographers called his name, but he didn’t notice them as he was wrapped up in the pure elegance that stood next to him.

As they walked down the red carpet, hand-in-hand, Nick found himself thinking about all of the memories he shared with her. The night they were first introduced: she was a friend of a friend who had just seen her first Jonas Brothers concert. Their first date: a picnic on the beach, under the stars. And their one-year anniversary: when Nick flew her out to see him in LA.

Photographers wanted shots of just the band together, but Nick was reluctant to let go of her. Nicole meant everything to him, and if it were up to him, he’d never let her out of his grasp. After a few group shots of him and his brothers, Nick reclaimed her, arm around her waist. All eyes were on her, because with her amazing dress and looks to compliment, she put most of the other celebrities to shame. Nick couldn’t agree more. He paused and whispered sweet nothings in her ear, causing her to blush as he looked in her eyes.

And then it happened. He kissed her. On the red carpet at the VMA’s, with hundreds of flashes going off from every direction, and cameras rolling with reporters capturing their every move. His brothers were taken by surprise by his actions, but Nick knew exactly what he was doing. He loved Nicole with all of his heart, and he wanted the whole world to know it.
