here you go!
Inseparable
Meghan swam up to the side of the public pool and climbed out. She dried off her tan skin and put her dark brown hair into a ponytail. She slipped on her flip flops and started to gather her things. As she went to turn, she ran right into a bush of curly hair. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I-you’re Nick Jonas.” Meg stared into his brown eyes in shock. “Yeah, I get that a lot. But anyway, yes, I’m Nick.” He held out his hand. Meg dried her’s on her towel and shook it, “I’m Meg.” She said. “Do you live around here?” Nick asked. “Yeah, actually, right down there.” Meg pointed down the road. “Well, why don’t I walk you home?” Nick asked. Meg looked from Nick, to his swimwear, to her house down the road, and back to Nick. “I don’t want to use up all your swimming time.” Meg said. “No, it’s fine.” Nick held out his elbow and motioned for Meg to link arms with him. Hesitating slightly and making sure she wasn’t still soaked, she did.
As Nick walked her home, they began getting a know each other. Like now Nick knew that Meg could play the guitar and she loved to write songs. They had a lot in common. They reached her house much to fast for Meg and Nick’s liking. “Well Nick, thanks for walking me home. And you know, if you ever want a random number to call, mine is 282-2635.” Meg smiled at Nick as he laughed. “See you around.” Nick said, waving as he walked back down to the pool.
Meg noticed after that day she began to go to the pool a lot more to look for the curly haired boy who had stolen her heart at the first glance. She noticed after a couple weeks, he wasn’t there. She walked home. “Mom!” she called. “Yes, what is it Meghan?” her mother called from the kitchen. “Where is Nick? Did Mrs. Jonas tell you anything about it?” Meg asked, standing in front of her mother. “Oh, honey…..” She paused, “The boys had to go on tour for their music, didn’t Nick tell you?” Meg’s hands turned to fists. “No, he didn’t. When did they leave?” Her mother turned to face her. “Why, just this morning. I wonder why he didn’t tell you.” Her mother turned back to the lunch she was making for her brother. “I don’t know. He is my best friend after all. You think I should call him?” Meghan asked. Her mother didn’t answer, she just shrugged.
Meg made her way up the stairs to her room. She went into the bathroom, changed into a pair of sweat pants and over-sized t shirt. She made her way to her closet and grabbed the New Jersey sweatshirt Nick had given her, it had once been his. She grabbed her cell phone and stuffed it into the pocket, then made her way back down stairs.
At five o’clock, she turned on the news. “New Jersey Trio, the Jonas Brothers, started their newest tour today! But the youngest Jonas…” They showed some footage of Nick, apparently from an interview they had done, “Has had a lot on his mind since they started, he said. We’ll tell you what happened when we come back.” It cut to commercial and Meg stared. “MOM!” she called as the news came on. Her mother made her way in. “What is it?” She saw Nick on the television, “Oh!” She sat in the recliner.
“Well…..I didn’t tell my best friend we were going, and I’m really sorry for it. I didn’t even get to tell her goodbye.” Nick said into the microphone. “And is she just your best friend…..or is she something more?” the nosy interviewer asked. “Well, the truth is, I love her. In fact, excuse me for a moment……” Nick took his cell phone out of his pocket and began messing around with it as he walked away from the cameras. Just then, Meg’s cell phone vibrated. She took it out. “Hello?” She asked. “Hey Meghan……”
Meg drew in her breath. “Nick….” She said. “Look, I’m really sorry I didn’t tell you, I didn’t really know how to. But really, I love you.” Nick said. Meg smiled. “I…I love you too Nick.” Even though they were on the phone, Meg could tell he was smiling as he sang his line from a song, “And even when we're miles and miles apart, you're still holding all of my heart.” Nick stopped singing, then started again, “Because we’re inseperable.”
