Dreamers
A song fic based on the song by Push Play
“I’m sorry Joe, I just can’t do this anymore.” Laila said.
Her and Joe had been going out for a year and for some reason that she couldn’t identify, she just couldn’t do it anymore.
“Laila! Please…” Joe said.
He tried to grab her arm but she pulled away.
“Joe, I…I have to do this.”
With that, she left.
Joe sat on the curb with his face in his hands. How could she have done this? Was it something he did? He had just let the girl that he truly loved slip away.

The next few days were horrible for both Joe and Laila. Laila regretted breaking up with Joe so much and Joe wanted the girl he loved, back. A week after the break up, Laila couldn’t get her mind off of Joe. She decided to go for a drive in her convertible to try and get her mind off of him. No matter where she went, though, there were reminders of him. The worst was when she passed by the venue that Joe and his brothers would be playing at that night. That’s when she just let it all out. With tears flying from her face, she kept driving. That’s when she heard it. She knew she had to see him after hearing it. Laila exited off the freeway and parked in front of the venue. There she waited for the show to end.

Joe lay in his bunk on the bus. He still didn’t understand why Laila had broken up with him. He pulled out his guitar and notebook. He started to play a new tune. He bit the end of his pen then scribbled down some lyrics. He tried the tune and the lyrics together. The tune was great, but the lyrics just seemed to disappear into the air. Finally, out of fustration, he ripped out the page and tossed it towards the trash, but is missed. He didn’t even bother to pick it up. He just went to go get ready for the show. That night at the show, Joe gave the proformance his all. He gave it his all for Laila, hoping, somehow, she just might hear him singing all for her.

Laila knew the show was over when a ton off girls came pouring out, hoping to catch the boys at their bus. Laila got out of the car and waited for the mob of girls to clear away. When they all did, she pulled her jacket tighter around her and went to the bus. The security let her pass because they knew her. She walked straight to the back of the bus, where somehow, her instinct told her that he would be. Laila took a deep breath and opened the door. Joe was sitting there with his guitar, looking out the window, playing an unfamiliar tune. Joe looked up, ready to say “Go away.” to who whoever was standing there. But, instead of seeing the short curls of Nick or Kevin, he saw the electric blue eyes and the brown waves that he had fallen in love with. There was an awkward silence, then Laila said,
“Joe, I’m sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking when I broke up with you.”
Joe looked at her. Laila’s mascara and eyeliner was smeared. He could tell she had been crying.
“I…I’m really sorry. I hope you’ll forgive me.”
Laila flung her arms around Joe.
“I forgive you.” Joe whispered in her ear.

Joe and Laila stayed together until the end. Though Laila never told anyone, only Joe at their wedding, she always remembered the song she heard in her car that night that brought her back to the love of her life.
TELL ME WHAT U THINK NOW!!! J.K.
