Arielle’s POV
“I wonder if monkeys have grillz.” Rachel said as me, her, and Makala walked out of our favorite frozen yogurt shop in New York. I looked at her and shook my head.
Wow, she really is insane, I thought, and just when I thought she couldn’t get more retarded, I glanced over to see her fall on top of an old blue car that was parked in front of the shop.
“Oh shnap!” she said as her fro-yo splattered all over the hood. She rose to her feet and asked about the monkeys and their grillz again.
“Smile for me monkey,” I started to sing.
“Whatchu lookin’ at?” She replied.
“Lemme see your grill,” Makala joined in. I heard a car door open and close and looked away from Rachel to see three teenage boys rushing over to her.
“Are you okay?” The oldest one asked her.
“I’m fine, why?”
“Cuz you just ran into a car.” The youngest stated.
“Don’t worry; she does this all the time.” I said
“Yeah, but it’s usually walls.” Makala added.
“Well, if you’re okay, then, hi, I’m Kevin.” He introduced himself, then the other two as Joe and Nick. Oh. My. Goodness. The one with the fake mohawk, Joe, was freakin’ adorable. Makala introduced herself to all of them, but Ray and I could tell she was only really paying attention to Kevin.
“I’m Arielle,” I said staring at Joe for apparently a little bit too long. Everyone went silent and my eyes darted to the ground.
“And I, the apparently crazy one, am Rachel.” She said, breaking the silence. She apologized for spilling her yogurt and then noticed that Joe was trying to hold his laughter in. Awwww…., I thought, he’s nice; he doesn’t want to embarrass her by laughing. She told him it was okay to laugh and pretty soon Joe and Rachel were rolling on the ground laughing their butts off.
“You guys look like you’re having seizures.” I said as some pedestrians came over to see what was going on.
“Wow, Joe.” Kevin said.
