After around forty five minutes I got restless and stood up once more. "Guys I gotta go. Its Sunday tommorrow and Heather has soccer practice."
"alright drive saftley." Joe smiled
"I gotta go too." Nick stood up picking up his keys "Diana might get worried."
"Then I guess Ill go pick my people up." Joe lowered his head "You guys are party poopers."
"Sorry Joseph." I smiled weakly as the three of us walked out his door and into our cars.
I started my car followed nick to his house while joe followed me.
In case you didnt notice, My name is Kevin Jonas and I'm widowed. My wife died a couple years ago and she left me alone with my daughter, Heather.
Nick and Joe were married and they each had a child.
Nick got married to a girl named Diana. And joe with a girl named Tania.
Its been good watching my daughter grow up but it hurts to watch her do it without a mother.
Everytime her green eyes would get filled with tears my heart would brake a little more.
We got to nicks house and I parked my car.
The three of us walked to his door as Nick unclocked it.
"Daddy!" three kids ran towards us.
Heather, my daughter ran to me with wide arms I held her in an embrace as I lightly smelled her
strawberry shampoo the same one her mother had used for her since she was a baby. Now
she was four years old and still used it.
Johnny ran to Joe and Kelly to Nick.
"You guys came back so early." Tania laughed holding avon catalogs.
"We were having so much fun!" Diana laughed kissing nick on the cheek
I imagined Donna smile and kiss me the way she used to when i'd come back from guys night
out. Instead I kept it to myself and greeted the girls.
"daddy, can we stay longer please." heather pouted pulling on my shirt
"No sweetie, you have soccer practice tommorrow remember." I smiled bending my knees to see her eye to eye
"Oh yeah!" she laughed
I smiled and picked her up.
"Bye Everyone!" she laughed leaning back to kiss her aunts and uncles goodbye.
We walked out the door and to our car.
"Strap yourself in."
"I know daddy" she giggled as I watched her buckle her booster seat. "Can I have the big girl chair next time?"
" Next year okay?" I smiled kissing her forehead
