I paced up and down the hallway trying to memorize my lines. I already had half of my parts down but I still needed the other half. I snapped my fingers and narrowed my eyes trying to remember what the next line was. Even though I was only seven years old I was already on Broadway, what could I say I was just so lucky to be here. I sat down on the floor of the passage way where all the actors were lined up reading their scripts. This play called for children parts and I had gotten the role along with three other boys. They were sitting in front of me reading aswell. Only one of them was too busy tracing the design of the carpet. His eyes wondered around and his legs were restless. Of course he got a part with high engery. His name was Joseph Jonas. He looked up to me and smiled
"You're done too?"
I narrowed my eyes at him "No, I only have like half down."
"Oh." he bit his lip and started looking around again "Im done."
"Liar!" I accused him a little bit too loud
"No its true" he confirmed "My mom helped me remember them"
I looked at him straight in the eyes, they were a light brown color that could have been green. he needed just one more gene to complete it.
"Im Ashleigh by the way." I smiled
"Joseph." he smiled widley
"I know, I watched your audition."
He studided my face then looked away anxious still not letting his legs rest.
"Do you think we'll be out of here soon?" he whispered
"Yeah. but we still need to practice"
"yeah." I smiled

The show had gone great and every one stood up when we bowed. My parents brought me a dozen roses and Joseph brought me a single artifical pink rose.
"So I guess, I'll see you again some time?" he balanced on his heels with his arms behind his back.
"Of course" I smiled hugging him
the energy was very high backstage since the show had just ended.
"Ashleigh!" I heard my older cousin yell
I turned around to hug her as she congradulated me.
I thanked to and looked back at Joey. But he was gone. I frowned and walked away with my cousin.
I hadent seen Joe since that night, I had tried to contact him but I couldnt. Now I layed with my head off the side of the bed holding my pink rose. I wonder what he would look like now. I did the math and found out he had barley turned 18 and i had barley turned 17. My wispy brown hair fell to my face as I got back up.
