Chapter 1
“happy birthday to you, happy…” Brandi, Megan, and Spencer were all singing. Today is October 10, 2008 and it’s my birthday. Yep, I am fifteen. Just got my learners permit too. I took the test early. But back to point. I was having a sleepover with my sister and my two best friends. I promised my parents I would have small b-day get-togethers until I turn sixteen. Then I’m having this HUGE party. Hopefully.
My mom put the cake down on the table and I blew all the candles out. Yeah, you probably don’t even have to ask what I wished for. To meet the Jonas brothers of course! After that we all ate the chocolate ice cream cake from Dairy Queen and started opening presents. Brandi got me this oh-so-cute dress from Wet Seal with matching necklace, bracelet, and earrings. Megan got me these so adorable heels that, of course, matched my new dress. And then came Spencer’s gift. She always gives me something unique! I opened the small box to find FOUR tickets to the JONAS BROTHERS!!!!
“It’s tomorrow!” Spencer said with a huge smile on her face. This means all four of us got to go…tomorrow… to see the Jonas brothers! This is just so awesome!! All of us started jumping up and down. It was one of those small, early afternoon shows. I love those kind!!
We then all decided to watch the Grudge! Ugh, I’ve never seen that movie but I was definitely not looking forward to it. I was shaking and screaming through the whole thing!!
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
“SHUT UP!!!” That’s the rest of them
“Sorry, it was scary. I wanna see you not jump at that!”
They all just looked at me. “Um, sweetheart, we were here. None of us jumped.” Spencer told me slowly like I was stupid.
“Oh, yeah…well…I meant next time!” Then we watched the rest of the movie.
After that we decided to play Truth or Dare. It was about 11:30 and we were still hyper from the cake! Of course, I got to choose first. Hmmmm…who should I pick. “Megan!! Truth or Dare?”
“Truth” She’s never been up for a dare. Me? I never EVER back down from one.
“alright then, If Joe Jonas was acting like a jerk towards me would you have the guts to defend me and slap him?!” Everyone looked at her. I mean this was serious, Joe Jonas against me? Her best friend!! Who was she gonna choose.
“I’m sorry Julia but wouldn’t be able to.”
“uh-huh, I feel so loved. Great way to treat your best friend on her birthday!” I was just joking though. “Your turn to choose.”
“alrighty then, Spencer! Truth or Dare?”
“truth, I’m too tired for a dare.” She always is.
“ok, Who would you rather kiss? Orlando Bloom or Kevin Jonas?”
“Pshh, Kevin of course!” typical. She’s in love with him. “Ok, my turn.” She eyed me evilly. Uh-oh. “Julia, we already know it’s a dare. Right?”
“ugh, yeah…” now, I’m getting nervous. I mean, I will Never pass down a dare.
“So, here’s what you are gonna do then…”
