It's short and lame, but in the future I promise you won't have to wait so long for me to update and they will be longer.
Thanks for being patient.
Chapter Three
Ashley’s face grew warm as she fought the blush that threatened to show on her face. She was holding hands with Nick Jonas! She knew they were both stars and equally famous, but she couldn’t help her anxiety and excitement over the fact that he was so nice to her.
“You know, you weren’t what I was expecting.” Nick’s voice said, breaking the comfortable silence the two were enveloped in. Ashley wasn’t quite sure how to take that.
“How so?” she asked, her hand slipping from his as she waved a hand through her curly hair. She glanced over at her two best friends and smiled as she saw them both talking to the other two brothers happily. Crystal was telling Joe a lively joke, making him laugh and share high-fives at its conclusion. Corinne and Kevin were in an intense debate about either music or books and they smiled or shook their heads as they agreed or disagreed on each other’s points.
“I don’t know. You’re not the diva I thought you’d be. You bounced to fame so quickly. I guess I thought it would have gotten to your head. I don’t mean to offend—“
“No, it’s fine!” she interrupted. “I know what you mean. This has all happened so fast I’m still processing. My parents are away doing business and dealing with family stuff, but I’m lucky to have Crystal and Corinne to keep me grounded. David has been really good about making sure we’re comfortable and taken care of. I’m so appreciative.” Ashley paused, realizing she was probably boring him to death. “Sorry, I’m rambling.”
Nick smiled, taking her hand in his once more. “No, after all the crazy divas I’ve met recently, you’re definitely a relief. I like that about you.”
Ashley was saved from Nick seeing her blush by Joe calling everyone’s attention at the fact that they’d reached the restaurant for breakfast. “I’m getting waffles!” he yelled loudly to nobody in particular, and Ashley laughed easily at the camaraderie she and her friends were finding with the Jonas boys. She wondered what David’s purpose for their meeting was, but as her latest single hit the airwaves and she and Nick walked arm in arm into the restaurant, all worries faded away.
Life was good.
