The Deeper Meaning

Prolouge
Being the oldest of 5 kids was hard. I learned to be independent and to do stuff with out any help. Being this way I depended on music to keep me company. Not all music had a deep meaning. I was special though. I was one of the few who new this. And this talent is what made me find my prince.
Chapter 1
The alarm was going off. I opened my eyes and looked at the clock. 5:45 was flashing in
bright red on the screen. I climbed out of bed and flicked the radio on.
"I find my paradise, When you look me in the eyes...."
"That was the song 'When you look me in the eyes' by the Jonas Brothers. This song has been
burning up the charts, and is now #1 in the top 40!" the DJ said a little too happily.
I sighed as a song from Chris Brown started to play. Whatever happened to music? I know
people like Chris Brown were only put on earth to tourcher my ears. I mean look at the Jonas
Brothers, thier songs have meanings. Thats what music is. I looked at the clock, it was now 6:00. I didn't get many thoughts in before my obnoxious sibblings came and started jumping on my bed.
"GOD! would you just leave me alone for 5 seconds!" I yelled at the top of lungs.
"five" dylan said.
"four" shannon said.
"three" rachel said.
"two" morgan said.
"ONE!" they all screamed together.
I pushed them all off of my bed and out of my room
"STAY OUT!" i yelled. I pressed play on the cd player and blasted goodnight & goodbye as loud as
possible. just another day in the life of charlie johnson.
i got on the bus to see rosa waiting for me with a seat, she was smiling really big and she
looked like she was about to explode. "hey ponderosa" i said smiling, she glared at me,
she pretty much changed her name after finding out last year she was named after montana's
state tree. personally i though it was pretty cool being named after a tree, just..not that one.
"so what's up?" she smiled.
"the jonas brothers are coming here."
those words were about to change my entire life.
"What?!?" I cried out with in a high pitch voice. "When? Where? WHY HAVN'T I PREORDERED MY TICKETS?!?!"
I felt that I would hyper vealate any minute now. The Jonas Brothers? HERE? My day couldn't get much better than this!
"There are going to be here June 18-21..." Rosa said placing a hand on my shoulder to keep me from bursting out in song.
I silently counted the days in my head. If today was May 1 that means that I had less than one month to wait!
"Yay! We are totally going Rosa!" I was utterly happy.
"I know! Who else did you plan on taking? I am not going to sit in this crummy neighbrohood while your off listening to the Jonas Brothers sing LIVE! And we should get the tickets after school, that way we get floor seats!"
"DUH!"
I sat silent with pure joy the rest of the bus ride there. We have been to every concert they have had that was within a thousand mile radious of my house, and every one of thier concerts was amazing and genuine. I looked around the bus. Nothing genuine here. Me and Rosa in skinny jeans and converse, and all the rest of these so called "humans" were dressed in thier Aropostale shirts and skirts. Skimpy and tacky I must say! But thats what you get when you go to Sunnyside Highschool. You know the home of the Sunnyside Serphants. Hurrah. After the bus pulled up along the curb of our school, I silently cursed each of the "humans" behind thier backs as we shuffled off the bus. I pulled the newest copie of M magazine out of my back pack and turned to a random page. And there it was staring up at me from the page like a sign sent from the angels.
"ROSA!" I screeched running through the crowds even though everyone was staring.
"What? What is it?"
I put the magazine in her hands and pointed.
"Read!"
She began to read out loud.
"What does music mean to you? Is it just words put together with a rythme to match? Or is it lyrics with deeper meanings? Well, write and send us a 300 word paper telling us what music is to you and you could have the chance to win! What is the prize you ask? If you win you and one friend will get to spend 2 weeks with the Jonas Brothers. Learn how they live and get to know them...."
After a long silence she spoke again.
"Emma! You should write this paper! We would have a great chance to win!"
" I'm all for it! Anything for 2 weeks with the Jonas Brothers! I mean come on a concert is awsome! But acually like living with them for 2 weeks!" I was full of happiness.
The morning bell rang and as I headed in I thought,
" I have a one in a million chance to win....But I want to be that one...."
