Betting, Betting, Everywhere
A single look around the empty room caused the blond girl to sigh her blue eyes brimming over with tears as she swept from the room. She was dramatic that was for sure but it was in her nature, and she had actually grown to like her three roommates that year. Closing the door after herself she looks at the little whiteboard hanging outside of the room, with all their little quotes sayings and their names. She smiles spotting her loves handwriting, a message to her that lasted through the year without getting erased.
Princess of Everything Good and Pink. I can’t believe I’m going to be home and you are going to be gone. It’s a change of pace. Well I love you never forget it. Prince of the Red around you.
She grins knowing that she was going to be home with him soon enough and that was all she really wanted. It had been almost a full four months since she had last seen him, last time she went home he was out of town. Wiping his words away, knowing that the cleaning lady or whoever cleaned everything after they left would do it anyway, almost brought tears to her eyes again. She really didn’t want to make them leave, they reminder her of him and she needed that some times.
With her back turned she started to walk away, away from her sophomore year of college. Then she feels a pair of hands on her arm and she turns expecting her friend George/Matt, who always seemed to find her at the weirdest times. But she spotted her two best friends in the world standing there giving her looks.
“I can’t believe it. First I find Crystal trying to sneak off without telling me goodbye and now you? Pencer this is so not cool.”
“I was not going to sneak off without telling you goodbye. I was going to stop at your house on my was off campus I promise.”
“Don’t believe you. So I saw you wipe away his message is it cause your leaving or did something happen. Cause I don’t want it to be all weird when Nick and I hang out there you know.”
“We didn’t break up Stephani. Its just cause I’m leaving and I’ll see him soon you know.”
“I’ll except that. So I guess I’ll be seeing you guys after I get out of school. Nick’s invited me to spend a few weeks there and I’m told you are too.”
She nods her head sending her blond ponytail flying and Crystal just smiles at the younger girl who they were leaving behind.
“I can’t believe it. It seems like yesterday when we met them cause you were humming their song.”
“And you attacked Joe with a smoothie.”
“And Nick and you watched the sun set.”
“And Kevin and you kissed.”
“And I got to see Joe in a towel… and only a towel.”
The other two girls send Crystal a look before continuing the walk to Spencer’s car. They all clearly remembered almost two years ago, right around the beginning of school, when they met their boyfriends. It was all Spencer’s fault she had been fuming mad and humming one of their songs when she walked past and almost started a fight with Kevin. But they knew they couldn’t exactly blame her for meeting the boys in fact they thanked her.
After tear filled goodbyes pass through the three girls Spencer and Crystal both get into cars driving off and leaving Stephani there, so that she can finish her Junior year of high school. Spencer’s drive thankfully passed faster than she had imagined it would and when she pulled open the door she was automatically pulled into a hug.
“I thought you were never going to get here.”
She laughs at her boyfriends words and looks into his hazel eyes smiling widely at him.
“Like I would pass up the chance to hang out with you.”
“Yea I am pretty awesome.”
Spencer rolls her eyes and lets out a little laugh before leaning her face up and giving him a kiss.
“I hate being away from you.”
“Not as much as I hate it. So what is so important that I had to come straight home. And that I had to tell you the magic code?”
The magic code was the code that was pressed into the door so that someone could get in. Spencer had never given it out before but she knew for sure that she could trust Kevin.
“Well Spencer. Um I was kind of wondering something.”
“Okay and this couldn’t wait until I came to your house tomorrow why?”
“Cause I need to do it before I loose my nerve.”
Spencer looks at the normally clam boy who is not jittery, shaking almost and she fears the worse.
“Kevin what’s going on?”
“Pencer.”
“Kevin? Are you breaking up with me?”
“Lord no Spencer. I’m trying to ask you to marry me! I mean um… Spencer I love you with all of my heart and I’m hoping that you love me the same way and that you will spend the rest of your life on earth and everywhere else with me. Will you marry me?”
Spencer stares her mouth dropped at the curly haired boy who was kneeling on the ground in front of her a diamond ring in his hand as he looked hopefully up at her.
“Of course I will!”
The ring slips onto her finger, fitting perfectly and Spencer looks at it still in a bit of shock as he stands and wraps her into a kiss. She kisses him back knowing perfectly well that she wants to spend the rest of her life with this man and when their kiss breaks she wraps her arms around him holding him as tightly as she can, not wanting to let go almost as if she was afraid it was going to be a dream.
“So you want to tell your parents first or mine?”
It only takes a second for her answer to fly out of her mouth because she knows in her heart what is the best thing to do.
“Can we wait til Stephani gets off school in two weeks. I’ll wear the ring why wouldn’t I but I’ll turn it so that the diamond is facing my palm. Cause I know that if we tell them and Stephani isn’t there she will have a fit,” Spencer says with a slight laugh.
“Okay baby whatever you want. Just as long as I get to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“Forever and ever.”
The next two weeks are spent hecticly as she joins him at events always with a smile on her face, her hand laced through his as Joe and Crystal are leaving Nick alone waiting for Stephani. And then it happens. It’s a Saturday and Stephani is finally out of school. In fact she was on her way to the Jonas house right then and Spencer knew with a certain amount of excitement she was about to become part of this glorious family. Soon Stephani walked in the door, and after her embrace with Nick was finished, and they managed to stop Joe and Crystal from making out, and got Frankie to come back since Joe and Crystal weren’t making out, and get his parents in the room Kevin speaks.
“So um… I kind of have some news… Well we kind of have some news.”
“Kevin?”
“Um… so Kevin kind of asked me to marry him.”
“And she said yes.”
“Your getting married. I knew it. I told you Joe and Nick and Crystal you all owe me ten bucks.”
Spencer and Kevin both look at Stephani and she blushes slightly.
“We had a bet going on as to why you guys were acting so weird. I thought it was cause you were gonna break up.”
“I thought it was cause you had a fight.”
“I was… I mean. So I kind of thought there was… tension.”
“I said you guys were gonna get married. And I was right. Which means pay up guys.”
“Nice to our to know our relationship is something you gamble with.”
“Are you kidding me? We gamble everyone. My money is on Joe and Crystal… for annoying everyone including each other and needing a break. And Joe’s money is on me dumping Nick cause of the distance.”
“Betting, Betting everywhere and not a dollar for me.”
