Chapter UNO
I laid in my bunk of the tour bus and rubbed my face with my hands. I was exhausted. The adrenaline rush wore off about an hour ago and now I had a restless night of sleeping on a bus to look forward to. I pulled the covers up over my head hoping to get a little more relaxed. Nope, still uncomfortable.
“I know it’s late and I’m sorry but I just wanted to hear your voice before I went to sleep.” I heard Kevin’s voice pour from his bunk, “Only a few more days till I can see you though.”
I rolled my eyes and restlessly turned onto my side.
“Well you’re coming to see me in 3 days right?” I heard Nick voice into his phone as he pulled the curtain to his bunk closed, “I know, I’ve been counting down too.”
“Mind keeping it down?” My voice was full of annoyance. It was unintentional but the last thing I wanted to hear while I was this cranky was my brothers talking to the girls they were infatuated with. I heard sorrys from both of them and soon they were both climbing out of their bunks to another location on the bus to continue their conversations.
I woke up, rubbed my eyes, and looked around the hotel room I was in. The past three days had flown buy. Three different cities, three different shows, and all the same old same old, now finally, two days off. I looked at the clock, noon. I was tempted to roll over and just sleep the rest of the day, unfortunately the banging on my door forced me out of bed. I groggily walked to the entrance and pulled the door towards me.
“What are you doing?” Kevin asked as he pushed his way into my room, “Get dressed.”
“What? No I’m going back to bed.” I collapsed face down on my bed.
“No, you’re coming with me, Julia’s flight is landing in about 15 minutes, and I’m supposed to be there.” He began throwing clothes at me to put on.
“I don’t want to go.” I groaned under the pile of clothes on top of me, “Get Nick, doesn’t he have to go get the ‘the love of his life’” I picked my head up and mocked my little brother, who couldn’t go 15 minutes without talking about his girlfriend, Rachel.
“Yeah he left already, come on man, just come.” I threw my legs over the side of the bed, giving into his request.
I got ready as quickly as I could, which to Kevin’s dismay, wasn’t as quick as he would have wanted. I grabbed my phone of the dresser and we made our way to the elevator. Leaving the elevator and walking into the lobby, our pace quickened. Leaving me the opportunity to walk right into someone and fall backwards, with a very loud thud.
I heard a high pitched scream followed by an “oh my god.”
I got up as quickly as I could and offered my hand to the girl on the floor nearby.
“Sorry.” I said as I pulled her up.
“No, it’s fine. It was my fault anyway.” She began to gather all the items that fell out of her purse, “Here’s your phone.” She smiled as she handed it to me giving me ample time to gaze into her, I shook my head and quickly snapped out of it.
“Oh, thanks, that’s like my life.” I took it from her and slipped it into my pocket, “Anyway, I’ll see you around.” I looked over at Kevin who was waiting anxiously by the door.
“I hope so.” She tucked her hair behind her ear before turning around and walking the opposite direction.
“Joseph!” I heard him yell my name, “Let’s go.”
