Chapter 1, Regular Point of View
Kevin tossed and turned in his bed. He was having the nightmare again. That very same, horrifying, terrifying, scarifying nightmare that would make him scared like he was five again. I mean, he was five, but that’s not the point.
What he saw would horrify any kid aged five and younger. He would always see himself and his brother. He didn’t know neither his brothers name, nor his age. He was always sitting at home with his brother when their mom would yell at them from the garage. They would run to her, and she would take them by the hand and they would walk to someplace. This place soon turned out to be a hospital, and Kevin and his brother would have to wait in the waiting room. Someone would come in and ask them a bunch of questions very fast, as if he was in a hurry. Then someone else would tell the man that these kids were only five and three. So then he knew his brother was three. Then another man came in about three hours later and asked for the two boys of Denise Jonas. They raised their hands. The man said to come with him. A hospital nurse didn’t trust this man, so she insisted on going with them. The man drove into a dark alleyway. The nurse and the boys were kicked out of the car. Kevin’s brother would always ask what happened to their mom. The nurse would say she was dead, and that they had to go to the orphanage. Kevin would ask if they were going to get out of the alleyway. She would smile, pick up his little brother, and say yes they would. But then Kevin would ask what happened to their littlest brother. The nurse would say he was dead, and then take Kevin by the hand and start walking towards the orphanage. On the way the nurse was walking until she saw a man behind her. She put the little boy who had been in her arms down, grabbed his hand, and started running. This part was always fuzzy to Kevin, but just clear enough to know the nurse had been shot. Kevin would grab his little brother and just when he thought he was going to triumph, he would always wake up.
And when he woke up, he had no idea that in different rooms, two other boys woke up too.
so do you like it??
