another one-shot :] comments are appreciated <3
Let it go,
Let it roll right off your shoulder
Don't you know
The hardest part is over
Let it in,
Let your clarity define you
In the end
We will only just remember how it feels
“I’m home,” bellowed a deep voice from the front entry.
“I’m in here,” Corinne replied quietly from her place on the couch.
“Hey sweetheart, are you feeling any better?” Kevin asked, walking in a planting a loving kiss on the top of Corinne’s head. He was beginning to get worried since Corinne had been throwing up several times a day for about three weeks now.
“No. I feel just as bad as I did when you left this morning,” Corinne sighed.
“Maybe you should go see a doctor. You know, just to be safe.” Kevin replied lovingly, wrapping his arm around his wife of 4 months.
“Ok. Maybe you’re right,” Corinne said, even though she knew exactly what was wrong.
~Four Weeks Earlier~
Corinne gasped as she looked down at the pregnancy test in her hands. Positive. It was amazing how much impact one little word can have in your life.
Even though she was more than ecstatic to be pregnant, she was unsure how Kevin would take it. He and his brothers had just wrapped up another world tour and life was finally settling down. Maybe he wasn’t ready for such a big responsibility. She had no idea how she was going to tell him, but she could only pray that he would take the news well.

Time falls away,
But these small hours,
These small hours still remain
~Present~
Corinne sat up in bed and noticed that Kevin was gone. She opened her mouth to call out to him, but her stomach decided otherwise. She got up and rushed to the bathroom and leaned over the toilet. Seconds later she felt two muscular arms wrap around her and then pull her hair back. She got back up and wiped her mouth off and turned back around to Kevin.
“Corinne, you really aren’t feeling good are you?” Kevin asked sympathetically.
Corinne shook her head with a small frown on her face.
“I’m calling the doctor right now and making you an appointment missy.” Kevin announced.
Corinne sighed and went to get ready for the long day ahead of her.
Corinne spent the rest of her day at the doctor’s office, only to find out what she already knew; she was pregnant.
Corinne opened the door of her and Kevin’s large house in California to be met by the cool and refreshing air conditioned atmosphere.
“Corinne? Is that you?” Kevin called from upstairs.
“Yeah, it’s me. Can you come down here for a minute?” Corinne half spoke half yelled up the stairs.
“Sure thing. I’ll be right there.” Kevin replied.
Corinne sighed and went into the living room to wait for Kevin.
Several minutes later he came walking down the stairs and greeted Corinne with a gentle hug and a sweet kiss.
“Is everything okay?” Kevin questioned.
Corinne took a deep breath preparing herself for the news that she was soon to announce.
“Yes. Everything is fine. I just wanted to show you something. While I was out I picked up a couple of things,” Corinne stated with a smile.
“Okay…” Kevin said raising an eyebrow. Corinne handed him a bag and looked up at him expectantly.
“Go ahead and open it.” Corinne said knowingly.
Kevin opened the bag to reveal several items. He pulled out a tie and a dress shirt; just like Corinne. She always did like to shop for him. After several other items he made his way to bottom of the bag to reveal a small envelope.
“Corinne?” Kevin said wearily.
“Oh Kevin, just open it.” Corinne sighed.
Kevin hastily opened the envelope and pulled out a small photo.
“Corinne... Is this what I think it is?” Kevin questioned.
Corinne nodded with a small smile on her face.
“You’re going to be a father Kevin.”
Kevin’s eyes lit up with happiness as he stood up quickly and made his way over to Corinne. He sat down next to her and passionately kissed her.
“I didn’t think it was possible to be so happy. I love you. I love you so much.” Kevin spoke softly, letting his hand drift under her shirt and rest on her stomach.
Corinne sighed with relief. She was happy that he took the news well. She was happy for the little life inside of her. And she was most happy for their new life together; for this was only the beginning.
