I Sleep Alone

Every since we were little I had always imagined what it would be like it we grew up and got married. What are lives would be like if you could find room in your heart for me; because lord knows you consume all of mine. I spent my late nights dreaming of you and my endless hours of homework talking to you over the phone until our parents would yell at us and tell us to go to bed. You always called me your best friend, but part of me was afraid that that’s all I would ever be. I watched as you started to date, getting your heart broken countless times in your search for ‘the one’. You were there when life was hard for me, always providing words of wisdom that helped me keep my head high. I remember the first time you told me that you were giving up on love once and for all. That if you had to take the risk of getting yourself hurt, then the risk wasn’t worth it. You never saw how much I cared for you, and that I would never hurt you. The day you told me you had diabetes was one of the hardest days of my life. I couldn’t tell you how scared I was, because you might have found out how I felt, and our relationship was too good to ruin. I put up with your anger when you couldn’t come up with a song, or your pain when you had to move away from everyone that you loved the most. That’s what you said when you left. You said you loved me; and then you were gone. You said you’d call but you never did. You said you’d keep in touch because you cared about me, but you obviously didn’t. It took 3 long painful years until I saw your number on my caller Id. I didn’t realize then that I shouldn’t have answered it. I got my hopes up that I would talk to you, but when I answered the phone that night, my excited ‘hello’ was met with a dark and depressing reply. The stranger told me you passed away. That you got in a car accident and that you were drunk. I always thought that you were smarter then that. What even caused you to do something so stupid? Even though you are no longer here on earth, I still dream of you. I dream of what it would be like if we were married and you could love me forever. I imagine what it would be like to wake up and see you laying right next to me. But that’s impossible now. I’ll never love someone as much as I loved you, and my dreams of you will never be replaced with another man. Until I am reunited with you in eternity, I sleep alone.

I'm glad you think so :] i actually thought of the story when I was listening to the coldplay song 'viva la vida' when he says 'now in the monring i sleep alone.' pretty random :]
