Introduction

I sat down at the computer staring at my new webcam I was using to record a video journal, great times with friends, and whatever else just happened to get taped on it. I turned it on. Looking at the camera, I said clearly, “June fourth, six thirty six PM, video entry number one. Okay, my name is Eleanor Nash, but you’d call me Ellie if you know what’s good for you. I am seventeen and a senior in high school about to graduate.” I looked away as I heard my best friend Jade come in my room and sit on my bed. I pointed at her. “And she is my best friend ever. My occupation is a very odd one. I am the “emo tree hugger book worm….” I put air quotes around this and I heard Jade say, “According to the people at school.” I laughed and finished my sentence, “And hating my ex boyfriend, Joe Jonas.”
