Okay guys, if you'd please comment on this, even if you don't like it, it'd be really great. Please!!
Chapter One
“Abigail, come here right now” My mother yelled from the kitchen of our beat up old trailer.
“Yes ma’am” I said when I walked in.
“Why didn’t you do these dishes?” she asked me.
“Uh, they weren’t there when I did dishes earlier, ma’am. If they were, I swear I would’ve done them” I defended myself.
“I’m sure. Now, I need everything cleaned up, since my boyfriend is coming over tonight.” Mom said.
“Yes ma’am. I’ll start cleaning” I said, and began to wash off dishes.
“Good. That’s my girl” Mom said, patting me on the back.
My mother wasn’t the greatest role model in the world. Not even close, actually. She was a drug addict for a while, and doesn’t have a stable job.
I’ve been in and out of her care for the past few years, and I didn’t know how much longer I’d be able to stay with her. I loved my mom. I did. Everyone loves their parents. Except, in my case, I’m not actually sure who my genetic father was. I’d never met him.
My mom goes through boyfriends all the time. I never know who she’ll be bringing home at night. It’s kind of scary, never really knowing.
The only reason I was in my mother’s care again was because she had a stable job, and was doing well. She had an apartment which we were in for a few weeks when I came back to her, and she had a pretty stable life.
Then, she got fired from her job, and we had to leave the apartment so the children’s protective services couldn’t find us. She didn’t want to ‘lose me again’.
I’d been in foster care homes while my mom was trying to sort out her life.
Now, we were right back where we started.
“Hey kid” my mother’s new boyfriend let himself in.
“My name is Abigail” I told him.
“Whatever” he said, and walked into my mother’s bedroom.
“Abigail!” Mom came out of her room, her boyfriend tagging behind her.
“Fix Zach and I some food” she demanded, and I nodded, looking for something to fix in the kitchen.
We had no money, so we didn’t really have anything to eat….
“Now go into your room, and don’t come out all night” Mom told me.
I sighed, and started towards the back of our trailer. “That’s my girl.” Mom called after me.
Yeah, she was great.
Chapter Two
Nick’s POV
“We’re really excited about getting to meet all the fans and we can’t wait to start filming our show and we’re just really excited” Kevin said during our interview.
“Yeah, we can’t wait! It’s so much fun working with Disney” Joe said.
I was in my own little world, mind totally not in the interview.
“Nick, Nick” Joe waved his hand in front of my face.
“What?” I snapped to attention.
“We’re leaving” Kevin laughed.
“Oh, right, sorry” I said, standing up.
Abigail’s POV
I found a 50 dollar bill on the kitchen counter along with a list of groceries for me to buy. I guessed that Zach had given Mom the money, and he’d be more than happy to do it now if he were living with us.
I sighed, and walked out of our beat up old trailer. I’d have to walk to the grocery store, because I was only 15 and couldn’t drive. And it wouldn’t have mattered even if I could drive…we had no car.
I walked around the store, gathering the things that we needed. Milk, eggs, bread, hotdogs, all the basics.
I made my way over to the check out line, when a magazine caught my eye.
Who are they? I thought, as 2 girls ran over and grabbed it, shrieking.
“Oh my gosh!! They look sooooooooooo hot!!” One shrieked.
“I know!! They always do though” she other shrieked.
“No joke” The first giggled.
“Um, excuse me, but, who are they?” I decided to ask the girls.
“Who? These guys?” The one holding the magazine asked, pointing to 3 boys on the cover.
“Yes” I said.
“Only the hottest guys ever!! The Jonas Brothers!” The other one told me.
“Um, sorry, but who?” I asked again.
“Who don’t know who the Jonas Brothers are?! Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas?! Camp Rock, Platinum Album, Totally hot?” one girl said.
“Sorry, no” I said.
“How could you not have heard of them?! Do you live in like, a box?” One asked.
Close. A box would probably be an improvement, actually I thought. “No, I just, haven’t heard of them” I said.
“Oh, well, they have a show here in a couple of days, who should go” one said.
Uh, yeah right! If I had money I thought. “I’ll think about it. Thanks” I said, and walked into the check out line.
“That’ll be $56.43” the lady at the check out line said.
“56?” I asked, knowing I didn’t have that much.
“43. 56.43” she restated.
“Oh, uh” I said, looking over the groceries.
“Is there a problem?” she asked.
“Uh, well…”I started.
“Here.” Some guy came up next to me, putting down 6 dollars and 43 cents.
“Thanks” I mumbled.
“No problem” He said. I looked up at him. Curly hair, brown eyes, cute smile, pretty cute.
“Here you go, have a nice day miss” the lady said, handing me my groceries.
“Hey! Wait up!” the guy called after me.
I stopped dead, and turned around. Was he going to ask for cash in return or something? I didn’t have any…
“Um, I don’t have any money with me to pay you back, but, if I ever see you again, I’ll try to have money…” I started.
“No, it’s okay. Really” he laughed. “No big. Just, one thing” he said.
Oh great. Here it was.
“Yeah” I said.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
That, I could give him. “Abigail” I smiled, and took off again.
He looked a lot like that Jonas boy. But, that Jonas guy was a rockstar, and rock stars are always like, superficial and shallow, and don’t care about anyone but themselves. No way was it him. No way.
