Chapter 8

In 2 weeks the boys would be going on tour and  Denise asked me if Maya and Frankie can stay at my house while they were gone and I said yes

 I was washing my dishes when my phone vibrated in my pocket, I wiped my hands and pulled it out only to see this

 Nikki, can I come over? I want to talk to you

I just looked at the message and I did not even bother to answer Joe’s message, I placed my phone on top of the kitchen counter and continued washing the dishes. A few minutes later I heard my front door open and I was thinking it was Maya, cause I gave her a copy of my house key ‘cause she and Frankie would be staying here in 2 weeks.

“Maya is that you?” I shouted from the kitchen, there was no answer “Maya??” I asked again, just as I was exiting the kitchen I bumped into..Joe, the boy who broke my heart

I backed up a bit and said “Oh its you, way to invite yourself in Joseph” “Nikki..can we please just talk” Joe pleaded “Let’s go to the living room” I said as I left the kitchen Joe followed behind me.

When we got to the living room I sat on the couch and Joe did the same, he faced me and looked me straight in the eyes and said “Nikki, Im sorry. I realized I never should have done the things I did to you, I’m sorry” I started to cry and he continued “I was stupid to think that Chelsea was better than you, that she deserved me more than you do..I now know that she doesn’t, Nikki I broke up with Chelsea a week ago” “What do you want me to say Joe?” I asked and he was taken back a bit so I know that he sensed the anger in my voice “Let me finish, please” He said “Go ahead” “Nikki, while I was with Chelsea I realized I love you” I gave him a look and he closed his eyes and sighed then continued “Everytime I was with Chelsea it felt different, she gets annoyed when I get a bit childish, she just…just wanted to show off that I was with her. Unlike you, no matter how crazy I get, no matter how embarrassing I get, you couldn’t care less, you still love me even when I get more immature than Frankie sometimes….Nikki, what I’m trying to say is that…I love you, only you” he said as he took my hand in his

I looked at him with tears in my eyes then I said “Joe, I..I don’t know…” “Nikki please give me just one more chance, please” my tears started to fall harder mainly because I saw the sincerety in Joe’s eyes and I was scared he’d hurt me again “Nikki, come on stop crying” Joe said as he pulled me into a hug (when he did, I felt that he really meant everything he just said, I felt his love, yes I know its cheesy but I did),

I rested my head on his chest and just let my tears fall “Shhh..Nikki, I’m sorry, don’t cry please, Nikki I love you” I looked up and said “Joe..” “Yeah?” “I love you too” he looked at me and smiled so wide then he leaned in and kissed me.

“Im sorry” Joe repeated “Stop it Joe, lets just forget about it”

He smiled and said “So, we’re together again?” “Yes, Joe, I’m giving you one last chance” “I love you” he said “I love you too”

“Wanna come over and have dinner, you know, with the family?” Joe asked “I guess so..let me just change” “Ok”

I went up to my room and changed into a pair of skinny jeans and my favorite white shirt with stars on it. I came back downstairs only to see Joe watching TV, “Lets go?” I asked, “Ok then” he said as he turned the TV off and got up from the couch, he walked over to me and held my hand.

In the Jonas Household

“Where the heck is Joe??” Kevin asked Nick “I don’t know, he told me he was “just going somewhere”

“He borrowed my keys to Nikki’s house” Maya said as she got off the stairs and went to the kitchen

“What??!!” Both Kevin and Nick shouted as they followed Maya in to kitchen “I said he borrowed my keys to Nikki’s house, he said he wanted to talk to her and that was the only way” Maya repeated as she grabbed a red bull from the fridge, “Boys just let your brother do what he wants” Denise said while she was fixing up food before Kevin or Nick could say anything they heard Joe say “Hey guys, Im back” Kevin and Nick ran to the hallway and saw Joe with Nikki

“Im guessing it went well” Kevin whispered to Nick “Duh Kevin” Nick whispered back

“Hey Nikki” Nick said as he came over and hugged her

“Hey Nick, Kev” Nikki said as he went over to Kevin and gave him a hug

“You guys…” Kevin started to ask “Yes, she gave me another chance Kev”

“That’s nice” Nick said as he put his hands into his pockets “So, shall we?” Kevin said as he headed into the kitchen

Nikki’s P.O.V

When we entered the kitchen Denise, Mr. Jonas, Maya and Frankie were all seated waiting for the 3 other Jonas’

“Hey guys” Joe said as we entered the kitchen hand in hand “Hi dear, oh hi Nikki” Denise said as she gave me a smile “Its nice to have you here” Mr. Jonas added as I sat down beside Joe

“You two together again?” Denise asked while we were in the middle of dinner I smiled and reached for Joes hand and it a squeeze “Yes we are” Joe said as he looked at me “Thank goodness, Nikki you don’t know how paranoid Joe was getting….” Mr. Jonas started “Dad, please” Joe pleaded “Fine” Mr. Jonas said…

So to cut the story short, during dinner we talked about everything from me and Joe to the tour and well everything else that came to mind.

The day the guys leave for their tour

THE NIGHT BEFORE

I spent to night at the Jonas’ cause Joe asked me to, The night before Joe and I were in their backyard just talking when Joe said “Nikki, I’ll miss you” “I’ll miss you too Joe, but I understand you have to do this” “Im glad you understand Nikki, I promise I’ll call you every chance I get” “Don’t promise Joe, just do it” I replied as I leaned over to kiss him, when I pulled away I said “Anyway, its already 11pm and we need to be awake at 3:30 your plane leaves at 5am” “Night babe, I love you” “I love you too”

The Day The Guys Leave For Their Tour

Everyone was awake and running around the Jonas household any minute now, the car that will take the boys and their parents to their plane will arrive and I had to take Maya and Frankie over to my house cause Denise asked me to take care of them while they were away when the sun rises.

We heard the bell ring and it was big rob, which meant the car was already there

“Nikki, I love you” Joe said as he gave me a hug “I love you too, have safe flight, call me when you get to Texas?” (Texas was where their  tour buses are) “I will, I’ll miss you so much” “I’ll miss you too” I said as I pulled away from the hug and Joe gave me a kiss. He turned to Frankie and said “You be good to Nikki Little man” “I will” Frankie replied “You too Maya” “Yes Joe” “Ok, then bye guys” Nick, Kevin and everyone else said “Bye” we said as everyone else went into the car

I closed the door  and sat on the couch and started to let the tears I was trying hard to keep fall “Hey Nikki, don’t cry” Maya said as she sat on the couch and reached over to give me a hug “I already miss him” I said “Hey, I know Joe misses you already too”

3 HOURS LATER

I woke up because my Blackberry was ringing and realized I fell asleep on the couch and I saw Maya watching TV “Hey babe” I told Joe “Hey, we just got settled in the bus” “That’s nice, tell everyone to take care and enjoy I heard Joe yawn and I smiled “Joe, go get some sleep. I love you” “Will do, talk to you later” “Ok” “I love you” “I love you too” Then I put down the phone and got up from the couch and said “Maya, can you please help me get your bags and Frankies we’re going to my house” “Ok”

So we drove to my house and when we got there I parked the car and helped Maya and Frankie get settled when I heard my phone beep I looked at it and saw a text message from Joe

“I love you, go to your room I left something there”

I went to my room and I saw a small velvet box and a letter on my bed I opened the box and saw a ring inside I looked at the ring and I saw “Nikki and Joe” inscribed in it. I read the letter and it said

I know I gave you a hard time Nikki, but I wanted to tell you that I’ll be thinking of you everday, This ring is a promise ring, I promise I’ll never hurt you again, I want to marry you someday.

 I love you so much

 That Line "i want to marry you someday" made my heart skip a beat

I reached for my phone and called Joe

"Hello?" Joe said "I got your surprise, I love it" "Im glad you did, everything I wrote in that letter, I mean it..I will..Marry you someday" "I love you" "I love you too" "Babe, I have to go to soundcheck, I love you, i'll catch up with you later, I love you" "Ok Joe, I Love you too" "Love you" then we hung up.

God, that boy really is something
