Prologue!
I stared with a sudden loathing at a poster on a telephone pole. It had a picture of a girl, who looked somewhat like me. Under the picture it read:
"KATI JOHNSON AGE: 14 STAT: KIDNAPPED IF U HAVE ANY INFO, PLEASE CALL THIS NUMBER...."
I wasn't kidnapped, I was merely a runaway! I ripped it off, and threw it on the ground. I stomped to a nearby bench with all my stuff, and crossed my arms.
"Why doesn't anyone drive at 11:00 pm? I need to hitch a ride!!!" I whined to myself. I was planning on leaviing my non-cozy home in Wisconsin and find my true self in Hollywood, but all that was just fantasy.
'How do they know Kati was kidnapped? How do they know she wants to be found?' "Trust me," I whispered to no one in particular.
"I don't want to be found!"

Chapter 1
The reason of my escape from home was to just be gone!! My mom became a really bad role model and I never knew my father. Of course I didn't want to be found or else I'd be taken back to live with my mom! My bluish green eyes started emitting tears. I stood up from my perch on the bench and started walking. Nowhere to go...
I walked all the way to the next town and stopped. There was no way I was gonna' get to Hollywood before the police stopped me. I sat down on the curb it was about 2 AM now. No cars were passing by, everyone was sleeping peacefully in their beds. Couldn't someone drive at night? What about giant diesel trucks? Nope, none. I took out my iPod, the only gift I actually cherished that my mom has given me. A very depressing song that expressed what I was feeling right now began playing. I looked down at the ground, mouthing the words to the song as I watched the ground.
"Is there anybody here...I know? Cuz' nothing's going right, and everything's a mess and nobody likes to be, alone!" I sang, longing to hear a voice. My voice was possibly the worst voice in the world. Well that's what I thought, and my mom. "Kati you're the worst daughter a woman could ever have, and quit singing, you'll never get anywhere in life with your voice!" Mom's voice echoed in my mind. I tried tuning it out, but it was inpossible. Nobody could tune out my mom's loud, obnoxious, scratchy old woman voice. I knew it would ring in my ears for the rest of my life.
A car passed me. I didn't see it but I knew it came past. Suddenly a man wa in my presence. "Young lady why aren't you at home?" the man asked. I looked up. I took an ear bud out. "Why aren't you at home?" the man repeated. I shrugged. "Do you need a lift?" the man asked. I shook my head. "Really? Oh well, I have extra room so you could have stayed in my truck." the man said. "On second thought...I do need a ride!" I said. "Where to?" the man asked. I suddenly remembered my grandparents...they lived in San Fransico. "San Fransico California." I said. "You live all the way there?" the man asked. I was puzzled, but I nodded. The man told me to get in his truck. I followed. The passenger seat was really weird and smelly but I learned to enjoy it that night.
Being found never felt so comforting!! I felt like people actually cared for me...even if it was a complete stranger!
How was chapter one?!
