Sorry it took forever
Chapter Eight
Kevin’s POV
“Pushin me away! Every last word every single thing you say! Pushin’ me away! Try to stop me now but it’s already too late!...” We sang at sound check the day after our night at the Olympic Qualifiers.
“C’mon guys. Let’s go. We need to focus.” Nick told us.
Joe rolled his eyes. “Nick, we sound great. And we are focused.”
“I never said we didn’t sound good, but we could sound a bit better.” Nick said.
“Let’s take five, guys.” I suggested.
“Of all people, Kevin.” Nick started. “I thought you would’ve wanted tonight to be perfect. Your ice skating chick is coming.”
I chuckled. “We always give our all for the shows. It’s another show, yes, and I’ll show off if I want to. I mean, she does have front row tickets…”
“Oh great.” Joe laughed. “You’ll be staring at her the whole time and forget to play your guitar.”
“Guys, focus. This is sound check, not talk time.” Our dad reminded us.
“Dad’s right. Let’s take it from the top.”
Run, run like you do
I’m chasing you
I’m on your tail
I’m gaining fast
You’re going no where
Try
To fix what you’ve done
Turn back the sun
The night is calling
And we’re falling faster now
Pushin’ Me Away
Every last word,
Every single thing you say
Pushin’ Me Away
Try to stop me now but it’s already too late
Pushin’ Me Away
If you really don’t care
Just say it to my face
Pushin’ Me Away
You’re Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Stop
Tell Me The Truth
‘Cause I’m So Confused
Spinning Round
These Walls Are Falling Down
And I Need You
More Than You Know,
I’m Not Letting Go
I’m Getting Close
So Taking My Hand
And Please Just Tell Me Why
Pushin’ Me Away
Every last word,
Every single thing you say
Pushin’ Me Away
Try to stop me now but it’s already too late
Pushin’ Me Away
If you really don’t care
Just say it to my face
Pushin’ Me Away
You’re Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
Pushin’ Me Away
Every last word,
Every single thing you say
Pushin’ Me Away
Try to stop me now but it’s already too late
Pushin’ Me Away
If you really don’t care
Just say it to my face
Pushin’ Me Away
You’re Push, Push, Pushin’ Me Away
We finished singing, for probably the millionth and second time.
“Okay, one more…” Nick started.
“NO!” Me and Joe put our feet down together.
Nick shook his head. “Whatever. If ya’ll don’t want to sound good, whatever. I’m just trying to make sure that we sound perfect.”
“We’ll never sound perfect Nick.” I began. “We’re human for God’s sake. We’re not perfect. You’re not even perfect.”
“Everybody makes mistakes.” Joe started to sing. “Everybody has those days. Everybody knows, what I’m talking about, everybody gets that way.”
“NOBODY’S PERFECT! I GOTTA WORK IT! AGAIN AND AGAIN ‘TILL I GET IT RIGHT!!” Frankie ran up on stage and started singing with Joe.
Dad and I stood there laughing, while Nick, well, did that ‘Nick stare’ as it’s been referred to.
That thing where he looks like he’s at a photo shoot for Hollister or something.
“Guys, that’s not even funny.” Nick said, and we, not including him, cracked up.
He rolled his eyes. “Whatever. Let’s take 5.”
Ashley-Noel’s POV
I got out of bed around 1:30 that afternoon, which was pleasantly unusual. I usually had to get up around 5:30 or earlier.
“Good afternoon. Would you like some lunch?” My dad joked when I finally rolled out of bed.
“I’m too excited to eat.” I smiled.
“The Jonas boys take over your minds sometimes.” Lloyd said, referring to myself and his daughter.
“Get a life, would ya?” My little brother, Max, said.
“Why don’t you get a life?” I asked.
He rolled his yes. He had to be the most annoying 14 year old on planet earth.
“When that boy dumps you for some super model, don’t come crying to me.” he said.
“He wouldn’t do something like that.” I said.
“Hey, be nice to Ashley” Mom stopped us from continuing our argument. “She’s going to the Olympics.”
“And that makes her special?” Max asked.
“You are so jealous.” I said
“I am not! I can’t even compete…even if I wanted to.” He said. “I’m not old enough.”
“You can go to the Junior Olympics.” I reminded him. Max was a swimmer…sort of. He was good, and had a coach, but wasn’t super dedicated. Besides, he was summer Olympics, I was winter.
“What makes you think I want to? Maybe I want to be ‘normal’, unlike you.” He said.
“Exactly. I’m not normal, I’m cooler, something you will never know.” I smirked.
“Yeah just because you keep putting your ugly little face on that ice…” he started.
“Okay, enough you two.” Mom stopped us.
Chapter Nine
Kevin’s POV
“C’mon guys! Make some noise! We’re gonna have a great show tonight!” Joe shouted as we prepped for our show starting in about 10 minutes.
We all cheered, and did our camp fire.
“And remember guys, gotta make this a good one. No mess ups.” I said.
Nick and Joe laughed. “Oh yeah, because Ashley-Noel is coming tonight to the show. Hopefully she didn’t wear one of her tiny outfits.” Joe laughed.
“You like Ashley-Noel Sanders?” Garbo asked.
I shrugged. “Kind of.”
“Kind of?!” Nick chuckled. “Try totally in love!”
“She is pretty hot.” Jack said.
“Yeah, she is.” I agreed. “She’s got front row with a friend tonight.”
“Okay guys! We’re doing this for Kevin tonight!” Joe shouted again. “Let’s make it a great show!!”
Ashley-Noel’s POV
“Ugh. This line goes on forever!” Vanessa said as we waited in line for t-shirts.
“We’re almost up there V.” I said.
We bought our t-shirts after waiting for what seemed like forever, while listening to that guy from Verizon talking about how we can put our phones up to some speaker thing and buy ringtones that way.
I don’t have Verizon though, so that had no affect on me what-so-ever.
“Front row!!” Vanessa shrieked when we finally reached our seats in the stadium. “I can’t believe this is happening.”
“Neither can I.” I smiled.
“I wonder who sent you the tickets.” V said.
I shrugged. “No idea.”
“Maybe it was Kevin…” she teased.
“Maybe…” I said.
I had a strong feeling that it was. I wasn’t about to say anything, though.
Rooney, their opening act came on and was incredible. Vanessa and I were fans of the band, but had never seen them live.
“I love you!!” Vanessa screamed, as Robert grabbed her hand.
Kevin’s POV
I stood backstage, heart pounding. She was out there. I knew she was. Robert told me she was just a few minutes ago after Rooney had finished playing, giving their incredible performance as usual.
The crowd was screaming, chanting Jonas. It was the best feeling in the world. The crowd was here for us.
They were screaming for us.
We were here for the fans…
And I was here for Ashley-Noel.
