Blur Reality's Line [an FMS joint - Chapter 9 up 8/30!]
Modified By Master Magooku [(G)onas] on 8/30/2008 11:24:29 PM)

Hey guys! So here's the SECOND thread of Blur Reality's Line.  So our first thread crashed beacause we talked to much.... we just love each other that much!!!!

BLUR REALITY'S LINE:

Chapter 1

Nat’s POV

“I can’t believe your leaving!” Todd turned to me with sadness in his eyes. Todd was my best friend. He has been since forever. I had met Todd when I was in the 3rd grade when I had changed schools because my family had moved to a bigger house with more land. My dad owns a thoroughbred racing farm and his business was booming. The move from one side of Louisville, Kentucky to the other was hard on me. When we moved into our bigger house, Todd’s family had come by to ask to board Todd’s horse at our stable. Since then, me and Todd have been inseparable. Not only did we hang out at school but at home we were together all the time just to hang out and to ride our horses. There was never a moment we were not together.
“I know!” I sadly said back to him. My plane to New York would be leaving soon. “I think this is the first time that we are going to be separated. And its for months or even years!”
“It might be.” he said taking both my hands, “But you are going to go knock Demi dead with your skills. You have a great career ahead of you and I am so proud of you.”
I was going to New York to audition to be a backup dancer for Demi Lovato.
“Out of my mom’s will though.” I added in.
“Forget about your mom. Think about what you want.” Todd replied giving my hands a squeeze.
My mom had never wanted me to get involved with the music business. She thought that the media and work load was too harsh and I wouldn’t be able to take care of myself. But I didn’t care what she thought because I am here now going to achieve my dreams that I have wanted since I was three years old and starting dance classes.
“And I want to be a backup dancer.” I answered back.
“Exactly.” he said while letting go of my hands and picking up my purse that was sitting next to me and handing it to me. “Now get on that plane and show New York what your made of.”
I never realized that the board with my flight number now flashed now boarding. My stomach plummeted with sadness and fluttered with nervousness and jumped with excitement. It was NOT a very comfortable feeling.
“I will. Thanks Todd. I would never be here without you.”
I know how cheesy and cliché that sounds but it was more than true. He’s been the one that has held me through the rough mother troubles and led me through to where I was going now. If it weren’t for him, I would have given up on these dreams a long time ago.
“Now go before the plane leaves without you and carries away your dreams.” he said exaggeratedly thrashing his arms around like my “dreams” were “flying away”.
“Bye Todd.” I said giving him a hug and a small peck on the cheek.
“Bye Nat. And don’t forget to always call and give me updates, you can always reach me.”
“You know I will. And don’t forget to come visit me.”
            “I’ll go have it scheduled.”
Turning on my heel, I walked away from Todd and my past and through the tunnel to enter the plane and into my future.

The surroundings of New York City flashed by me as I sat in the backseat of the taxi. I was finally here! Right after the plane landed I had grabbed my luggage and hopped in a taxi and was now heading straight to Steps On Broadway Dance Studio where the auditions were going to be held. Nervous butterflies swarmed through my stomach as I could see the studio slowly come into view.
What if I don’t make it? I would have done all that hard work for nothing and I’ll not only be disappointing me but I’ll disappoint Todd too…
The taxi pulled up to the front of the dance studio and stopped.
“We have arrived,” the gruff taxi driver turned to tell me, “That’ll be $35.00.”
I reached inside my purse and pulled out my Louis Vitton wallet (Kevin would be so proud!), about the only designer thing I owned. Pulling out my Visa credit card, I handed it to him and he swiped it.
“Thank you very much, sir.” I said while getting out of the taxi.
He waved and drove away.
This is it.
I walked into the front doors into a crowded studio. Girls were piled everywhere and it was hard to move around. Swerving through the crowd, I made my way to the front desk.
“Hey girl! Welcome! You here for the audition?” the girl behind the desk said to me. She looked about in her teens or early 20’s with long, striking red hair and brown eyes.
“Yes ma’am” I answered her back.
“Just sign these papers and grab a number and go wait in the line right over there.” she said while pointing over to the enormous line of girls.
I don’t stand a chance against this many girls! She’s only choosing one…
Shaking my head to clear my thoughts I turned my head away from the line and back to the front desk and took the pen she was handing me and signed all the papers needed and took my number.
“Good luck!” she cheerfully said to me as I walked off to the line while pinning my number to my spaghetti strap top.

“Number 206 please.” the girl at the door said to me.
Trembling, I walked past her and into the dance room where two brunette girls were sitting at a table in the front of the room.
“It’s very nice you could be here.” the brunette on the left said to me. I recognized the one on the right as Demi.
I wonder who she is.
“I’m Rachel.” she greeted me while sticking out her hand for me to shake.
Well that answers that.
Walking up to the table, I shook her hand and introduced myself. “Nat.” After shaking Rachel’s hand, I reached my hand out in front of Demi for her to shake.
Instead of shaking my hand, Demi stood up from her chair and gave me a hug. A little taken aback, I gently hugged her too.
“I’m Demi. I’m so glad you came to glad you came to try out.” Demi smiled at me and sat back in her chair.
“By the way, she loves hugging.” Rachel pointed out.
“You warn me now.” I playfully snapped at her while giggling.
“So, what are you dancing for us today?” Demi asked me.
“I am going to be doing a jazz dance to ‘It’s Raining Men’.” I answered her while handing the tech girl my CD.
“I love that song.” Rachel pointed out “Classic.”
Giggling once again at Rachel, I walked to the center of the room and hit my beginning pose. More butterflies fluttered in my stomach as I tried to keep calm. Then the music filled my ears as I counted along getting ready to start to dance.
5…6…7…8…
As soon as I started dancing, the nerves flew away and I just got into the music. Every so often when I looked at the judge table, I could see Demi smiling at me and Rachel dancing and lip-syncing along with the music. Too soon, the music ended and I had danced without any mistakes!
“You did fantastic!” Demi said to me “Once everyone is finished we will come announce who made it. Thank you very much.”
“Thank you.” I said while grabbing my CD from the tech girl and walking out of the room breathing heavily.
I did it!

Suddenly the studio was silent as I saw Demi and Rachel walk out of the dance room and stand in front of the front desk.
“To start off, all of you girls had fantastic auditions.” Demi said to the crowd. “After some hard thought, we’d like to announce that my new backup dancer will be…”
“Number 206, Nat!” Rachel screeched interrupting Demi jumping up and down.
Demi turned to glare at Rachel then turned to face the front again and rolled her eyes.
As soon as my name was called, I stiffened up with shock. All the girls’ heads snapped to face me with disappointed eyes. I didn’t know what to think but I did know that I couldn’t believe it.
“Come on up here Nat.” Demi called to me.
Slowly, I made my way through the crowd and was now face to face with Demi.
“Congratulations Nat.” Demi said to me.
“Thank you so much.” I responded still not believing what was going on.
“Follow me.” I heard Rachel’s voice float by me then felt her hand on mine as she started skipping and pulling me back towards the dance room.
I looked behind me to see if Demi was following and I caught her rolling her eyes at Rachel once again while walking behind me.
            “She’s obnoxious.” Demi told me.
Once we got in the dance room, Rachel finally let go and turned to face me.
“So,” she began “since you are our new backup dancer we wanted to congratulate you by throwing you a party.”
            “What!?! Really!?!” I gasped.
            “Of course.” Demi answered me.
“It’ll be at the Hilton Ballroom tonight at seven. Be there or be square. Like a box. Not a big box. A little one…” (all credit goes to Joe!)
“Ok,” Demi interrupted Rachel “She gets it.” Then turned back to face me. “And if you want to get ready with us you can.”
“I’d love to get ready with you guys.” I answered back. “Actually, I’m staying at the Hilton so if you want to get ready up in my room. I still need to check in though.”
“Let’s get ready there!” Rachel turned to Demi with pleading eyes and folding her hands together.
“Sounds perfect.” Demi said while reaching into her packet and pulling out her phone. “ But we need to exchange numbers.”
Rachel squealed with excitement as she pulled out her phone.
Switching through each other’s phones, we punched in our numbers and parted our ways.
“I’ll call you guys when you can come.” I turned to tell them.
“See you then!” Demi called after me.

Taking yet another taxi, I made my way over to the Hilton Hotel. Once the taxi drove up to the doors, the doormen came and opened and helped me out while handing me my luggage they got from the trunk.
I could get used to this.
Pulling my luggage behind me, I walked through the front doors, which were held open for me, and to the front desk.
“May I help you?” the man behind the desk asked.
“Yes sir.” I answered “ I need to check in.”
            “Name?”
            “Nat Thomas.”
“Give me a moment.” the man said while turning and starting to type on the computer next to him.

Suddenly, I felt something hard collide with my head and a force pushed me down to the ground.

Hope ya'll enjoyed!

Chapter 2

Rachel’s POV

Okay guys, I need you to take your positions and let’s take it from the top,” I called out from the audience section of the theatre perching up on a blue cushioned seat. I watched as each kid scampered across the stage and hit their beginning pose in perfect precision. Biting my lip I surveyed each arm, leg, and finger. Everything had to be perfect.
“Cassandra, lower your arm, and Jimmy I need you to move your right leg so you are matched with Margo, every little detail needs to be perfectly in place, otherwise they can’t call us Broadway, from the top! 5 – 6 – 7 – 8” I called out swiftly sweeping down to click the “play” button on the silver stereo next to me.
Ever since I was able to walk, I was attached to the stage, it was basically where I lived and what made me. For a while I took several acting classes, and basically lived and breathed everything that had to do with performing. When I was 10, I finally made my debut on Broadway. While performing over the past years, I developed I passion for dancing over everything else... the feeling of conducting every step, every movement thrilled me pretty much completed me…okay that sounds cheesy, but hey, its true…I couldn’t get over my sudden click for dancing. Apparently, the directors caught on to my passion for dancing and almost immediately put me in charge of the dancing technique classes for the younger cast members – talk about crazy. For the past year and a half I’ve been the head of the technique dancing instruction for the smaller numbers of the shows, I’d have to say I felt pretty important especially since this all was on the one and only Broadway.
“Up, down, snap and turn, hit it guys, come on,” I yelled biting my lip and pacing in the isle in front of the stage then glancing nervously down out at my watch. As much as I was attached to this whole life, I would be leaving all of it behind for who knows how long to live out the opportunity of a life time in less than an hour. In an hour, I would be leaving the theatre and stepping into the music business as a backup dancer for Demi Lovato. I have no clue where I was getting the courage to leave Broadway and everything I had accomplished here, but I had known Demi ever since we were little and together in acting camp and when she said that it would be a blast and extremely beneficial…I guess I had to believe her.

“You’ll meet new people…tour the US dancing…and we will be hanging out with each other like old times,” she says…yeah Demi…I know…but is it worth it?
“And you get to spend the entire time with the Jonas brothers…”

Like that was a convincing factor at all. Hanging with some snotty three-some that constantly sang annoying break up songs wasn’t exactly exciting to me…but I decided I would be going with Demi as a step of faith for a future of dancing. In about an hour, I would be helping Demi pick out one other backup dancer through auditions…which I was kind of pumped for. Who wouldn’t want to spend a day acting like you were choosing the next American Idol?
“Miss Rachel,” Christine, a small 5-year old, chimed shooting her hand up making her blonde piggy tails swing slightly. Snapping my head up, I shook all the thoughts from my head and smiled slightly at Christine’s rosy cheeks and determined expression. I guess the song had ended because all the kids were frozen in their end positions as if they couldn’t move. Giggling to my self, I fixed my eyes on Christine.
“Yes, sweetie,” I asked watching Christine’s arm shoot down.
“Can we move now?” Christine asked stiff as a post.
“Yes you can,” I smiled noticing I had kind of left them hanging there. Suddenly Christine’s hand shot up once again.
“Miss Rachel?”
“Yes, Christine,”
“Are you really leaving us?” the sound of Christine’s drooping voice rushed through my body reminding me what I was leaving behind. Scanning my eyes around the empty theatre I bit my lip once again questioning if everything was worth it.
“Only for a little bit, but Miss Marina will be taking over while I’m gone, and I’m sure she’ll be really fun,” I sighed slightly as I watched Christine’s smile creep on her face once more, “How about we take a little break and put on some music and just dance for fun, it will be like a ‘going-away-just-for-a-little-bit’ party,” The entire stage of small faces lit up making me giggle. Sweeping over to the stereo once more I popped in a Hannah Montana CD and quickly turned it to Nobody’s Perfect then sprinted onto the stage. The kids swarmed around me laughing and giggling while they went crazy to the music. Suddenly there was an echoing click from the front doors to the theatre while a beam of afternoon light zipped through the room making me and everyone around me freeze.
“Excuse me,” I said jogging down to the stereo on the cushioned chair snapping it off then crossing my arms in the direction of the figure peeking through the door way, “This is a closed practice, you can check show times and releases at the ticket box,” The figure walked calmly down the hallway holding its hand over its eyes so the sunlight would allow it to see us while I squinted my eyes and bit my lip readying myself to pull out so Kung Fu skills…not that I had any.
“Oh…sorry, I just…I performed here once…and the lady in the front said I could check it out…kind of reminisce, you know?” a soft voice came through the sunlight as a more defined figure emerged from the sunlight. Squinting my eyes more, I leaned in a little bit to see more of the approaching figure.
“Well, whoever you are, we need you out beca...” I was cut off by the sudden appearance of a boy about my age with short, dark brown curly hair, deep brown eyes, and that stood a little higher than me. A sudden jerk of fluttering shot through my body as I watched his eyes quickly follow the walls of the theatre then lock with mine.

Nicholas Jonas…great, I already have to spend an entire tour with him, why do I have to meet him early?

Biting my lip I felt the fluttering zip out of me and anger bubble up from inside of me.
“What makes you or the lady at the front think that you can come in here during a private practice?” I asked shooting his innocent brown eyes maybe too harsh of a glare. Lifting his eyebrows slightly - probably taken aback about how cross I was - Nick bit his lip slightly and took in a deep breath. Glancing over toward the dropped jaws of the kids frozen on the stage I shook my head trying to calm myself down.
“No, wait, let me answer that question for you, you AND the lady up front thought that JUST because you were Mr. Nicholas Jonas, you could do whatever you darn well please, well I’m sorry to burst your bubble rock star, but we’ve got some real shows to work on.”

Wow…I can be pretty vicious…but who is he to interrupt our practice…even though we were just taking a break…but he still has no right

Nick’s deep brown eyes widened slightly as I locked my gaze on the kids still frozen on the stage. They thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. However; I thought differently.
He isn’t going to fool me…no matter how cute he is… NO RACHEL he is NOT your type of guy, we are just going to stick this entire tour out like he is not even there…yeah…that works
“Typical cookie-cutter teen pop sensation, thinking he can do what ever he wants just because he released a few hits,” I snapped watching Nick slightly swallow then bite his lip again.

Okay…maybe that was a little harsh…

I knew that I was being a bit unreasonable, I mean, he hadn’t even said more than 15 words to me…but, I couldn’t tolerate anyone who thought they were all that and a bag of cheetos. Nick clapped his hands slightly, fixing his eyes on his shoes, and then locking with my eyes again making that stupid flutter stream through my body once more.
“Look, I’m really sorry, I just…”Nick said softly sending a whiff of guilt that overwhelmed me, but that was gone soon enough.
“Just looking for some free perks of being the rock star of America, well Mr. I-can- now-do-whatever-I-please, we don’t offer those here, and we do need to get back to practicing, so if you could please,” I motioned toward the door as I caught Christine’s hand shoot up from the stage.
“Yes Christine,” I sighed keeping my eyes fixed on Nick who was now focusing on Christine’s determined expression.
“Before he goes…can I have his autograph?” Christine chimed causing me to snap my head down to my shoes in frustration…not only was it annoying that everyone of my students were cloned JoBro fans, I couldn’t figure out why I was so mad at Nick…I mean, I couldn’t stand the Hollywood-Diva attitudes, but I didn’t even really talk to Nick, and now I had just made a horrible first impression…and on top of that…I had to spend a whole tour with him now…and he probably hated me. Truly, I didn’t want to make him feel bad just because he wanted to walk down memory lane.

Darn it Rachel, make up your mind! You can’t be the Wicked Witch of the West and Glenda at the same time…you’ll confuse the poor boy

Honestly, my whole irrational explosion freaked me out a bit…I never really was mean…to ANYONE…just hard to impress…but here I was, practically screaming at America’s Heart Throb

“Yes, Christine,” I slowly moved my head up to see Nick side smile at me but quickly look away when his eyes met mine. Christine sprinted down the stage followed by sea of Jonas crazy students. Fire rushed to my cheeks causing a disgusted look to form on my face as I shook the thoughts from my head and ran my fingers through my brunette hair.

What is with the red cheeks, tell me Rachel, what is with the red cheeks…this is ridiculous, let’s all spell it out Y-O-U D-O-N-T L-I-K-E N-I-C-K J-O-N-A-S, in fact lets just be safe and say you hate Nick Jonas…once that cookie cutter pop star walks out of this room…you…hate Nick Jonas

Nick’s POV

The sunlight burst onto my face as I swung the heavy door open. Sweeping on a pair of sunglasses, a hat, and tucking my chin I searched my pockets for my iphone. Biting my lip I slightly smiled remembering the girl inside the theatre, but immediately shook her from my thoughts.

Okay Nick, she just chewed you out…and you are actually smiling about it?

Okay, so the trip inside wasn’t what I hoped for…actually it was nothing that I hoped for. I wanted to go through the theatre taking in all the great moments I had there, but instead I got an echoing lecture from a girl that made my spin shiver and made me temporarily loose half of my hearing.  I mean, she had every right to yell at me…I did kind of barge in…but I guess I was surprised at her reaction to my entrance. I never really thought of myself as better than anyone else, but I guess for a split second I thought that I could just walk in and be accepted. I had to admit though the moment I saw the girl’s glimmering smile through the window of the entrance to the theatre, I immediately planned to impress her...but that didn’t work out so well. When someone starts to scream at you…you know that they don’t feel the same butterflies that you feel when you lock eyes with them. So, I have to say I was kind of disappointed that I didn’t get her to like me in the 10 minutes I was there, but I guess I wouldn’t be seeing her anytime soon…that thought oddly sent a wave of disappointment over me.

Just forget about her Nick…you won’t see her again

Shaking my head slightly to erase the thought from my mind I shuffled down the stairs in front of the theatre and slid my iphone to my ear pressing speed dial 4 as a ringing swept through my ears.
“Hey Nick, what’s shakin’?” Kevin’s voice cheerfully greeted me.
“Hey Kevin…um, well I kind of done …” I said biting my lip and pausing on the sidewalk staring at the busy street.
“I thought you were going to visit some of the theatres you preformed at…”
“Well, I did…but, you see, I got in and then a girl…” I hesitated as images of her brunette hair and gleaming smile raced in and out of my head.

            Forget about her Nick…

“A girl? Hmm, has Nick found someone he likes?” Kevin questioned playfully
“No, No, No, that’s not what I meant at all,” I paused…

At least I think I didn’t mean it like that…

“I went in and a girl yelled at me…so I left, I think I’m going to call a cab and head back to the hotel…”
“I see…okay, well call me when you get there and make sure Mom and Dad know you went ahead back to the hotel, I think they went out to eat or something but the band and Big Rob is still there,” Kevin reassured. Even though it had only been like 45 minutes since our driver dropped me off on Broadway…I didn’t really have anything else to do, and I needed to make sure I erased that girl from my mind or it would bother me.
“Okay, see you later Kevin,” I said pulling air through my nose and surveying the streets in front of me.
“Bye Nick,” Kevin chimed as I hung up the phone. Biting my lip I tried my hardest to think about something else other then the girl in the theatre as I called a cab. I must have looked like an idiot shaking my head so many times to get her smile out of my head, but the image of her wouldn’t budge.

This is going to be a long night…

                                                                    Rachel’s POV

Filing into a room full with girls, I stood on my tippy toes and peered around the room spotting a door in the back that read “Audition Room”. Walking up to a table near the long line of girls I glanced down at my watch then focused on the girl behind the table.
“Hey, welcome to Steps On Broadway Dance Studio, are you here to audition?” the girl said in a chipper voice flashing me a wide smile.
“Um, no, my name is Rachel Remington, and I’m a friend of Demi’s. She asked me to help judge, I’m the other backup dancer,” I explained adjusting my navy blue duffle bag on my shoulder and glancing back at the audition door.
“Yes, Yes, Demi is in the room in the back, we should be ready to start in a few minutes,” the girl smiled shuffling a few papers in front of her and pointing to the door in the back.
“Thank you,” I said before turning and weaving my way through the crowd of girls. Finally reaching the back of the packed room, I slipped through the door to enter a spacious room with Demi sitting all smiles at a table against the back wall.
“Hey, Miss Rachel, I’m super excited about this tour! Are you?” Demi said springing up from her seat and almost toppling me over with a massive hug. Giggling lightly I pulled away from her. Same old Demi.
“Very excited, wow, you haven’t changed a bit, still a hugging maniac, are we?” I laughed unzipping my navy duffel bag and pulling out a water bottle as I made my way toward the table.
“Ha-Ha very funny, what are you excited about the most, the dancing? Hanging out with me? Meeting the Jonas Brothers,” Demi took her seat next to me nudging her eyebrows up and down like I was supposed to like them or something.
            Not exactly…
I quickly sucked in some water from my bottle to avoid answering her question honestly. Nodding my head slowly, I stared at the wall in front of me avoiding contact with Demi’s truth seeking eyes. I knew I wasn’t exactly answering the question…but that was the point.
“I think, they will really like you, especially Nick, you should become good friends,” she said going though the lists of names in front of her.

            Oh yeah…great friends

“Are we ready to start,” I asked screwing the top back onto my water bottle trying to avoid anymore conversation of having to see the annoying Jonas Brothers.
“Yeah,” Demi giggled slightly at my urgency, “Okay, Sam, We’re ready,” Demi said into her walkie-talkie. Clapping my hands together I prepared myself for the 300 and something girls that would be auditioning.

Let’s get this show on the road

Re: Blur Reality's Line NEW THREAD [a joint fanfiction by Faye, Madeline, and Sierra]
Modified By Faye[izzle]<3<3<3 on 6/18/2008 6:08:19 PM)

Oooo how I love crashing threads! So invigorating, eh? K, so sorry it's so short...I'm working on it...

Chapter 3:

Amanda’s POV:

I stared into the mirror and tilted my head, trying to see if I could find an angle from which the dress actually looked good on me. I had no such luck. I just felt awkward and even more insecure than normal in the dress. I sighed, and slowly started to take the dress off.
“Amanda, girl! You have to come see this dress; it looks absolutely AMAZING on me!” I suddenly heard my friend Veronica shout from outside the dressing room. I laughed softly. She was always so confident, I guess that is why we were friends; with us, opposites attracted. I stepped outside to see her posing in a gorgeous yellow dress, looking fantastic as always.
“Perfect as always, girly!” I said smiling brightly; although, deep down, I was just a little jealous. Here I was on the trip of a lifetime, staying with Veronica at her apartment for a week in New York City, and yet I couldn’t find anything to buy and wear that looked good on me while shopping in the beyond-amazing stores that the city had to offer! And yet, Veronica seemed to shop effortlessly with her beautiful figure, the one which helped sell the countless clothes and other merchandise of companies that she modeled for. However, jealousy was not very pretty, so I quickly shook the thoughts from my head. “What do you think of this dress?”
Veronica stopped posing and looked me up and down, biting her lip, apparently thinking intently. “I like the color, but it doesn’t really flatter your body very well,” she finally said.
“That’s what you said about the past three dresses…” I mumbled loud enough for her to hear.
“I know, sweetie, but not everyone can have a body type like mine!” she said smiling egotistically and twirling around for show. I laughed to myself. Her confidence tended to make her a little big-headed, but I didn’t mind. She was a good friend, and seemed to accept me, insecurities and all.
“Well, I need to find a dress that does flatter my body type and fast,” I said, looking at my watch. “We have to be at the party in an hour! And I need to shower, and get make-up on and…”
“Relax,” she laughed. “Being fashionably late is what I do! We’ve got time! But if you want to go back now, why don’t you just buy that light blue dress that you tried on earlier. It brings out your green eyes and it looked the best on you out of the six you tried on.”
I sighed, running my fingers through my dark-brown layers, and nodded. “I suppose you’re right. Let’s go,” I said solemnly, grabbing the dress, paying for it and racing out to the street. Veronica quickly and easily called a cab over, and we slid in.
“So, remind me what this party is for again,” I asked, looking out the window at the busy streets, then back over at Veronica, who hesitated, applying more lip gloss, before finally answering my question.
“You know that girl from that Disney movie…the one with the Jonas Brothers…um, Demi I think,” she inquired, still looking at herself in the compact mirror in her hand.
I nodded. I knew the movie well; I had always respected the Jonas Brothers and kept track of them from time to time, so I had seen it. “Lovato,” I said.
“Right,” she replied, powdering her nose. “Well, she’s having a little party to celebrate her new backup dancer, which she auditioned and picked today. Everyone’s going to be there, and I thought I’d crash.”
“Are you allowed to do that?” I asked. I had always been one to not take risks and, most importantly, to not break rules, so I was a little apprehensive at the situation all of a sudden.
“Again, relax,” she said, finally pulling away from her mirror and looking at me, her eyes laughing at my worry. “I know a few girls from a photoshoot who are good friends with Demi. They invited me. And I invited you. So we’re not breaking any rules and we’re not technically crashing it, so relax.”
“Okay,” I said, and looked back out the window of the cab. I still wasn’t very excited about the party. I didn’t like going places where I didn’t know anybody; I couldn’t make friends easily, I couldn’t just go up to someone and talk to them, I couldn’t socialize; I stunk at it all. And frankly, I didn’t trust Veronica to stick with me the whole time, as she apparently had several friends there that should would probably rather hang out with. But I was going anyway, to get the whole “New York” experience. I sighed again, for like the fiftieth time that hour, and hoped everything would go well.

Who knows? Maybe there’s something great waiting for me at this party.

Luv ya! Watch out for Sierra's chapter 4!
