hi guys!!! here's a chapter for you. I'm still on vacation in FL, but I wanted to give you something to read. I apologize for the sadness of this chapter. It gets better, I promise. So don't kill me.

Chapter 8
Nick hated hospitals. He didn't know why he volunteered to escort Jennifer to her chemo treatment that afternoon. He knew she would need somebody there for support, so he offered to go along. Once they entered the hospital room, Jen took her rightful spot on the bed, waiting for the doctor. Nick lowered himself into a chair next to where Jen was, taking in his surroundings. The last time he was in the hospital was when he was diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago.
The doctor walked in, smiling at Jennifer who put a brave face on. Nick saw right through her; he saw the pain and misery in her eyes and in that instant, he wished that it was anybody but her that this was happening to. He watched as the doctor inserted a needle into the fragile girl's arm, turning on a machine and jotting a few notes down on a clipboard. Nick's heart fell for the girl. He often wondered what she looked like with hair, what color it was, how long it might have been.
Throughout the past couple of days, Nick began to befriend the girl. He now considered her one of his best friends, even though they met just days before. He felt the pain hit when he realized that she would be taken from his life soon. He valued that Jen saw him for who he was, not just a rockstar. She could make him laugh like no one else; he saw the innocence in her eyes, the thing that made her had to resist. Everytime Nick saw her smile, he couldn't help but smile himself.
Once the treatment had finished, they walked slowly out of the building and into a car waiting to take them back to the venue. The treatment session had drained Jennifer physically, causing her to fall asleep shortly after leaving. She opted not to attend the show and quickly apologized to the guys after returning. Exhausted, Jen walked back to her bunk and climbed in, leaving Nick to watch her from the front lounge. He felt defeated, unable to express exactly how he felt inside about a girl who had captured his heart.
Three days later, goodbyes were exchanged as Jennifer clung to Nicholas for dear life. Her departing words with Joe and Kevin were short but heartfelt, nothing like the one she feared the most, with Nick. Unknown to her at the time, Nick also didn't want to let go. He knew that this would be the last time he saw her, the last time he held her, and the last time he looked in her eyes.
Neither one of the two owned up to their feelings, both knowing that things would never work out, simply because Nick could never love someone that was soon to be six feet under. With one last thank you, Jennifer released Nick from her grasp. She sighed deeply, trying to hide the tears from the boy that meant everything to her, but it was no use. Nick caught on and quickly wiped the tears from her eyes, kissing her gently on the cheek before joining his brothers on the bus.
Jen watched as Nick boarded his home on the road, the door closing behind him. He sat down by the window, looking out to her where she stood with her family on the front porch. Kevin and Joe were also present in the window, Joe waving frantically at the girl, but she was too preoccupied with staring at Nick to notice. The four planned to keep in touch through emails and phone calls, but Jen knew that nothing would ever replace the real thing.
The bus lurched into motion and tears began to flow at such a rapid rate, Jen couldn't catch her breath. For once in her life, Nick and his brothers treated her like a normal person, and for this she was forever grateful. She watched as the bus began to pull away from the curb in front of her house, as the figure in the window began to wave slowly. Nick's heart was torn, quickly retreating to his bunk after Jen disappeared from sight. He didn't want his brothers to notice his tears, now present in his eyes. Nick had realized that the one thing he needed in his life, the one thing that made him feel complete, was Jennifer, and he knew he could never have her. He knew this would be the last time he saw her, but reminding himself that he would see her once again in eternity.

ahh new reader.. this is the cutest thing i've ever read.. it's so sad but I know nick will find a way to get to her.. ahh i'm legit crying right now. it's so sad but i love it
