Ashley's Point Of View
I clutched my necklace, as the tears rolled down my face. I looked down at the necklace that read ‘Forever’. It’s been five years from that day that was supposed to last forever.
I flipped the television on. “What’s going on with those Jonas Boys? Nick, who recently just turned 21, has been getting into a lot of trouble. Will he dig a deeper ditch, or will he redeem himself?”
I sighed and flipped the television off.
I’m Ashley. I’m 20, and I just turned it on May 20th. My stories a little bit different from everyone else’s. And this is how it goes.
Flashback.
I fell in love at first sight. Nick and I have been best friends ever since we were born. I’m currently thirteen. Nick’s turning fourteen in September. When we were little, we used to make music with our little instruments, and hope to be together in a band one day. Little did I know, he was going to start a career without me. I leaned back in my chair as Nick placed his hand on mine rubbing it. “I love you Ashley. We’re going to be together forever, I promise you.” He handed me a necklace that read the word engraved Forever. On the back, it had the words written, “Ashley+Nick.” We were young, but in love. We were just in at the wrong time and wrong place.
Nick started getting heavily involved with him and his brothers. They started a band, “The Jonas Brothers.” They slowly slowly began getting famous. But Nick swore to never leave me.
Current.
I opened my eyes to erase the horrid past. As we grew older, Nick left me. He stopped having any contact with me. Any text messages, phone calls, or even e-mails.
But yet, I still kept my necklace. I refused to let it go. Nick had to go, he had to go with his band, start a great life. And I was just left in the dust.
