Hey guys! This is my new story This is Me. I hope you enjoy it! Here's the first chapter.
Chapter One
Nate looked out the window of his camp cabin, staring at the droplets of rain pouring from the sky. Thunder filled the room as flashes of light came rom all around. It was just another ordinary storm there at Camp Rock. He and the rest of Connect Three, Shane and Jason, decided that they would take their summers off, so they could spend it doing something they loved. Music was in their souls, and it would always be.
"Man, its really pouring out there," Shane said, coming to stand by Nate. "Hopefully when we start doing our activities, it won't be so bad out. Yet, I have to admit, I think storms are kind of cool."
"You know, Shane, you still owe me a bird house," Jason piped up from the other side of the room. Shane rolled his eyes, then laughed. Jason mentioned that stupid birdhouse all the time. He turned around so he could look at Jason.
"Hey, you never know. Maybe I'll get to that this time," he said with a smirk, but Jason, on the other hand, knew he wasn't being serious.
"You'll regret someday that you didn't make me that bird house, because one day you are going to want something from me, and let me tell you, you are not going to get anything," Jason said to Shane. Once again, Shane rolled his eyes.
"What would I ever want from you that would be useful?" He asked, slightly annoyed.
"Well, how should I know? Its not like I can see the future and suddenly know what you are going to need that is from me," Jason replied.
"That's not what I meant-"
'Well, what did you mean then-"
"You know exactly-"
"What is that? I can't hear you!" Jason said as he walked around the room with his ears plugged and letting out a bunchs of lalalalas. Nate just stood at the sidelines, watching his two friends bicker about something silly as they usually do. Suddenly, Nate jumped as he remembered something.
"Guys!" He shouted, and automatically the two of them stopped to looked at Nate. "I forgot my bag out by the lake beach! Ugh, everything is going to be soaked." Nate ran out the screen door of their cabin, hearing shouts from Shane and Jason as he ran toward the beach.
Once he got there, he hurried in picking up his bag of things and was about to leave when he noticed something. A girl was standing at the edge of the water staring down at her feet, but she had an odd grin on her face. "Hey, are you OK?" Nate asked. He must of startled the girl because she jumped when he talked, then looked over at him, smiling. "Uh, what are you doing out here?" The girl looked around as if she hadn't heard what Nate had just said.
Nate walked over to her, noticing that she must have been looking at the horizon. He looked in the same direction and knew why she was having such a hard time paying attention to Nate. It was beautiful. Then, the girl took her gaze away, looking down again, and half laughed. "I'm sorry," she said. "I just love looking at the horizon. It always seems to make me feel better, even when its pouring down rain." Nate smiled.
"I don't blame you," he said.
"My name's Tara, by the way," she told him.
"Nice to meet you, Tara," Nate said. "I'm Nate-"
"I know," Tara interrupted. " I think Connct Three is amazing. Especially you. There's just something so real about you. About your voice. It's amazing." Nate's smile seemed to grow for miles.
"Thanks," he said. "So, whats wrong?" Tara gave him a confused look.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well, you did say that you like coming out to see the horizon to make you feel better. And seeing that you're here, even though its raining, then something must be wrong," Nate said.
"Oh," Emma said. "Um...its nothing. I'm fine."
"You sure?"
"Absolutely," she said with a smile. Nate couldn't help but smile back. "Well, I think I should go now."
"Yeah, me too."
"It was really great to meet you, Nate," Tara said.
"Yeah you too." Nate then walked away and back to his cabin.
