Chapter 7 (I believe)

*Julia’s POV*

            They put something called make-up on my face. Make-up? Does that means it makes you…make things up? I don’t know. It’s weird. I coughed as some of the blush got in my mouth. Helloo! Can’t you tell I have enough blush naturally?

            The doorbell rang just as they finished. I looked at myself in the mirror, scared to death. I liked the outfit though. It was really cute!! They shoes were a little weird though. They made me tall.

            The dress reminded me so much of my tail!! I loved it!!!!!! Here is the picture of it…no that’s not me wearing it though…my hair looks better (=0 burnn…haha jk)

            I smiled at my image. I think I looked pretty. My hair looked nice and the dress fit in all the right places.

            I took a deep breath then turned around to see Erin and Jamie beaming at me. Erin made a dramatic sniffle “Our little girl is growing up so fast” she joked. Jamie played along “It seems like just yesterday we found her on the beach” Jamie added a sniffle to it.

            “Actually it was only today!” I said and they both snapped out of their dramatic scene.

            “Really? It felt like yesterday…” Jamie drifted off. The doorbell rang again.  “Oh shoot! We forgot about the guys!” Jamie and Erin ran to the door as I walked slowly, praying I wouldn’t trip down the stairs. I walked down the hall and stood at the top of the stairs nervous. I looked down and saw Nick looking around, probably wondering where I was, while Jamie, Erin, Kevin, and Joe had a little hug-fest.

            Nick looked absolutely amazing! He was like burning up hot! I blushed when I saw him wondering how I was so lucky to get a date with him.

            I kept my hand on the rail to make sure I wouldn’t tumble down. I could hear Erin and Jamie telling Joe and Kevin about what they had to teach me and what it was like. They were whispering but I had great hearing.

            I was three steps from the bottom, Nick was right in front of me, facing his back to me. I lifted my hand from the rail. Only three steps, what could happen, right?

Wrong

Next thing I knew I had tripped on the second step. I waited to hit the hard ground…but instead felt two arms grab me and keep me from falling. I slowly opened my eyes and looked up into the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen…Nick’s eyes. “You ok?” He asked, a smile spreading across his face.

            I blushed, “Yeah, thanks” I whispered and stood up. Luckily my heel didn’t snap or anything.

            “Aww, look how cute they look together” I heard Erin whisper/coo and I glared at her. I should probably tell them about my great hearing…

            “everybody ready?” Kevin asked. We all agreed and piled out of the house. This day was getting very interesting…

Chapter 8 (I think)

Erin’s POV

                After we arrived at the pier, all three couples went their separate ways. Kevin led me to the staircase that led down to the beach but stopped as soon as we reached the sand. Kevin walked around me and whispered in my ear that he wanted to surprise me so he asked if I would wear a blindfold. “Do I have to” I asked him. Kevin simply replied with a simple YES. So I nodded and let Kevin cover my eyes with a blindfold. Kevin then grabbed my hands and started leading me down the beach. Kevin suddenly stopped and said we had reached our destination and walked behind me to untie the blindfold. I blinked a couple of times to adjust my eyes and I saw the most romantic thing ever. There was a trail of pink and red rose petals, which are my two favorite colors of roses, leading to a blanket with a picnic basket. “Kevin this is gorgeous” I said. “So you like it” Kevin asked sounding a little nervous. “I love it but how did you know about the flowers and how I always wanted a date by the ocean?” I asked. He then told me how he asked Jamie about what I liked and how she spilled the details I told her about my dream date. I laughed and then walked over to the blanket and sat down. Kevin followed and started to take the food out of the picnic basket. Kevin and I talked throughout dinner getting to know each other better. Ask him about his dad my head was screaming at me to ask Kevin. I pushed the thought out of my head knowing that it would ruin the mood of the date and that was the last thing I wanted to do. Kevin noticed something was on my mind and told me to tell him. I decided to ask him about his dad because I am a terrible liar and anyone who has known me for a long time can tell when I am lying. “Kevin I was wondering what the secret around your dad was”. Kevin tensed up and I immediately regretted asking him about it. Kevin sighed and then said “He is a scientist that works with myths about mystic creatures”. “Creatures like Julia” I asked and Kevin nodded. “Kevin you didn’t tell him about her did you?” I asked worried about my new friend’s safety. “No I would never do that because to be honest I hate what he does”.  I smiled at Kevin’s answer and then laid back to look up at the stars. Kevin wrapped his arms around me and we just gazed up at the stars enjoying the rest of our date.

Jamie’s POV

                Joe and I jumped out of the car as soon as Kevin pulled into the parking space and ran to the pier where the fair was being held this year. As soon as we were at the entrance our jaws dropped to the floor with all the excitement that surrounded us. Joe and I were holding hands and we started walking separate ways but we pulled each other back. “I want to go get some cotton candy” Joe whined at the same time I said I wanted to go ride the zipper. As soon as Joe heard zipper come out of my mouth he grabbed my hand and ran to the back of the line dragging me behind him. We rode the zipper and ran to all the other rides before we went and got something to eat. Joe and I sat at one of the many picnic tables holding a conversation. We talked about everything from our families to our favorite flavor of Jell-O. Joe looked up at me with a sly smile on his face and said he wanted to go on one more ride but he wanted to surprise me. I let him tie his handkerchief around my eyes as he led me toward the final ride. As we sat down I started to take off the handkerchief but Joe stopped me and said “I will tell you when you can take it off”. The ride started moving and I still could not tell what ride we were on. The ride then stopped and Joe said I could uncover my eyes. When I opened my eyes we were at the top of the Ferris wheel overlooking the sunset over the water. “Joe this is beautiful” I exclaimed. “I know that’s why I brought you here because I wanted this to be memorable” he said. “Make what mem…” I started to ask but was interrupted when Joe’s lips crashed on to mine. After our lips parted I smiled and laid my head on his shoulder and enjoyed the sunset.

Julia’s POV

                Nick and I walked around after our dinner where we talked about our lives to get to know each other better since we just met considering the fact that I just became human 2 days ago. Nick grabbed my hand and we ended up walking back to Erin and Jamie’s house. “I am glad we don’t have any secrets between us” Nick said and I shrugged knowing that I was keeping the biggest secret ever. “Nick I have something to tell you…no show you” I said. “What is it” he asked.  I told him to wait by the pool as I ran up to my room I was staying in and grabbed my mother’s necklace and ran back down to the pool.  I stepped into the water dress and all and said “Nick this is who I really am” as I pulled the necklace around my neck and clasped it. I was then dragged under water but I still heard Nick screaming my name. Before Nick jumped in to save my I swam to the steps of the pool and showed Nick my tail. Nicks eye bulged out of his head and stuttered “you are a mer…mer…mermaid”.  I nodded.

Nick and I didn’t know we were not the only ones in the back yard that night. And that person in the backyard was going to ruin my life by risking exposing my secret and making me losing trust in my new crush.
