Chapter 1- Like a Star
“Just like a star across my sky,
Just like an angel off the page,
You have appeared to my life,
Feel like I'll never be the same,
Just like a song in my heart,
Just like oil on my hands,
Honour to love you”
“Stop it,” a little girl named Amanda who looked around 6 years old yelled.
“No,” a boy who was much larger than the girl said as he grabbed the girl’s pigtails and pulled on them again.
“Stop it!” the girl repeated, on the verge of tears. The boy just laughed at her misery.
A couple yards away, another boy named Joseph who looked about the same age was watching what was going on.
“Hey!” Joseph yelled, going up to the bully and the girl, “leave her alone.”
“Make me,” the bully snickered. So the Joseph did what anyone would do; he kicked the bully.
It was instant friendship between Amanda and Joseph after that.
*12 Years Later*
“Joe, when are you going to be able to pump your legs and push yourself,” Amanda asked as she pushed Joe on the swing.
“When I become as high as the clouds!” Joe yelled as he swung up.
“Well I’m done. You are eighteen years old and you are on a swing… like you are eight” she said.
“Come on. Remember when I valiantly saved you from that man who was tackling you,” Joe smirked.
“The boy was three feet tall, he was pulling my hair, and you kicked him. You are true hero,” Amanda said sarcastically.
“Don’t sass me, woman,” He shot back.
“I do what I want,” Amanda said, sticking her tongue out.
“Those we the good ‘ol days. That was the day we became best friends. Actually, it was over there, huh?” Joe said pointing toward the play set.
“Yeah. Haha I remember we went off and played on these swings and I was obligated to push you. Some things never change.” Amanda laughed.
“Well I saved your life,” Joe claimed.
“And you never let me live it down,” Amanda joked.
