Chapter Four; Kevin’s Point of View:
I woke up and got out of my bunk. We were on our way back to our house in Los Angeles and would only have to drive for about another hour until we were there. After I got dressed, I went over to Nick, who was sitting with his guitar on one of the couches.
“Hey man, so once we get home are we going go out with Joe?” I asked him. I really hoped Joe would agree to come out with us. He rarely wanted to go out anymore.
“Yep, you just have to convince him to come.” He said as he played a few cords on his guitar. I sighed, of course I have to be the one to get him to come.
“Fine.” I said and walked over to Joe’s bunk. He was just laying there watching TV.
“Hey Joe.” I said. He didn’t take his eyes off of the little screen that hung above his bed.
“Hi.” He said without emotion.
“So, me and Nick were thinking that we could maybe go somewhere once we got home. You want to come?” I asked hopefully.
“I don’t know.” He said as if he didn’t want to say yes, but didn’t want to say no.
“Come on Joe. You can’t just sit around doing nothing all the time. Come have some fun.” I begged. He looked over at me, his face looked a little less sad than usual.
“Sure. Why not.” He said. I smiled at him. He smiled slightly, this time it wasn’t a fake. But I could still see the pain in his eyes. This girl must have hurt him really badly.
“Okay, awesome.” I said happily. Maybe this wasn’t going to be that hard, or at least I hoped.
