Because I have some amazing friends I'm going to post the prologue tonight :) This chapter is dedicated to Jess, Tracey and Cam :)
Prologue:
The Sound of Settling
Death Cab for Cutie
I've got a hunger
Twisting my stomach into knots
That my tongue was tied off
My brain's repeating
"if you've got an impulse let it out"
But they never make it past my mouth.
Baa bah, this is the sound of settling
Baa bah, baa bah
Life takes us to many unexpected places, and puts people into our life for a reason. With its many ups and downs and millions of possibilities, these are the people that keep you sane through it. Although, they may come and go in your life there are a few that will stay for keeps. You may not realize it, but these acquaintances that come into your life could very well turn out to be your family in a few years time.
That’s how the three of us started out, acquaintances with one single connection, the Jonas Brothers. In one way or another each of us had captured one of the boy’s hearts. I had been the one to capture Kevin’s heart. We both weren’t looking for love when we found each other, but life has a funny way of doing things like that. It was a chance meeting at the Blockbuster in my hometown of Clifton, New Jersey that had led me to the man of my dreams, my husband Paul Kevin Jonas II.
Joe’s heart was stolen by Sam a few months later at the Florida Children’s Hospital in Orlando. She was working as a volunteer and studying to become a child life specialist, when Joe and his brothers came in to play a show for the children. He had left that day with a phone number, and a few years later gained a fiancée.
Jessica was the most recent girl to our exclusive club. She was the newest “it” girl on the Disney Channel; she had her own show, a number one album, and counted Mitchell Musso as her best friend. It seemed as if she was taking over Miley’s queen bee status, and when Mitchell introduced her to Nick at a Jonas Brothers concert it was apparent she was also taking over Nick’s heart.
Although, we had met each other and spent some time together with our significant Jonas Brother we were never “friends”. We each had our own lives, own families and own friends. That was until we began to settle down with Kevin, Joe and Nick to make new lives. It was the boys “Still Living the Dream Tour” where we would learn just what it meant to be part of the Jonas family. In a sense we had all started out as strangers and ended up as so much more.
