Let me know what you think.
Intro:
I was seven, you were nine.
I look at you like the stars that shine.
As we run and play.
Our dads make jokes about us.
And our Moms, laugh saying oh my my my
As we grow up and fall in love.
Our Dads, used to make jokes about the two of us.
Our Moms, roll their eyes saying oh my my my.
I was eight years old when I got my first kiss. I know you may think that sounds kind of weird, thinking that most people are teenagers when they have theirs. And it wasn’t one of those awkward things when you kiss someone and never see the boy again. Me and Joe have been friends best friends forever. That was until he was fifteen. I was fourteen. He moved to California. Became a big hotshot rock star with his brothers. Now he’s eighteen, I’m seventeen. He finally decided to come back for a visit. Things were not like they used to be. I know you’re probably confused reading this. So I’ll start in the beginning where my relationship with Joe Jonas began.
Chapter One.
Sorry if it’s a little boring at first but I promise you, it will get better.
June 14, 1998
Joe- Nine years old.
Me- Eight years old.
“Joey, Joey!” Slow down, you know you can run faster than me!” I said. Joe became abrupt halt and turned around slowly. I nearly ran into him. But I stopped when we became face to face. “What did I say about you calling me Joey?” He asked. I just shrugged. “I don’t know.” “I don’t like it.” Joe said turning back around and continuing his way towards the tree house.
Our Dad’s had built me, Joe and his old brother a tree house when we were really little. But Kevin grew up and didn’t really want to use it anymore. And frankly neither did Joe. But I always make him go up there with me every Sunday afternoon after church.
“Well I like it! And I am now declaring I am calling you that forever.” I said running up in front of Joe to the tree house ladder.. When I got myself half way up it I turned around and stuck my tongue out at Joe. “Ha-Ha.” Joe raised one of his eyebrows and looked at me as we came up into the tree house and he sat in his own “corner”. “You’re weird.” I flipped my long brown hair around to my back. “Nuh Uh! You’re just normal.” I said walking around and sitting in a little corner of my own. “That doesn’t make any…ugh never mind.” Joe said. There was a short awkward silence until I spoke up and decided to ask. “Joey, have you ever kissed a girl before?” Joe rolled his eyes. “Again with the Joey and what kind of question is that?” “I don’t know, have you?” I asked with a little grin. “No.” He said. “Well haven’t you ever wondered what it would ever be like? “Laura, have I ever told you, you ask way too many questions?” Joe said. “Probably…” I said.
“Why do you care if I’ve kissed a girl anyways, you’re my best friend. And we’re just kids.” Asked Joe as he crossed his arms. “I don’t know, when my parents kiss, they always smile. And so do yours. And you haven’t smiled all day so…” I inched a little closer to Joe. He tried backing up but he was as far back in his corner as he could get.
“Please, just one little?” I said pleadingly. Joe finally sat up a bit. “Fine, but if you tell anyone I am going to beat you up.” “Oh no you won’t.” I said giggling. “How do you know?” Joe asked. I shrugged and leaned in to kiss him. I guess little kids now are starting to get into romance. It only lasted a couple seconds but when I pulled away I saw a grin pop onto Joe’s face. “I told you so.” I said looking down at my watch and climbing down the tree house.
“Where are you going?” Joe asked. “I have to go eat dinner, you know.” I said walking back towards my house leaving Joe in his corner.
