Chapter 1- Sounds Like Hanson
She couldn’t help but smile at the shocked look on the curly haired boys face. He had just watched her shove three bottles of water into her huge over sized purse. He didn’t know she worked there, he didn’t know she was the owner, he didn’t know she wasn’t a common criminal. She certainly looked like one, with her tattoo covered arms, snake bite piercing along with multiple other piercing, her thick piled on eyeliner with the deep black eye shadow, and her hair multi colored and cut very scene.
“Want one?”
She holds the bottle of water out to him and he shakes his head furiously almost as if scared to be caught doing something wrong, but how could it be wrong when the owner said it was okay. She let out a little laugh as two other young men, one with straight almost black hair, and the other with short curly brown locks much like his own walk up and he furiously starts to whisper to them. The one with the curly hair looks over at her and then with a frown on his face he walks over to her.
“Um… my little brother just said you stole water… he was kidding right?”
“Not exactly.”
“You stole water? They have got to be willing to give out water why do you have to steal it?”
“You three really are clueless next time make sure you know your facts. Hey Amiee?”
The petite blond girl looks around the corner to see the other girl and a smile breaks out on her face.
“Yea boss?”
“Give them whatever they want for free. Write it down, I’ll pay for it.”
“Okay.”
“Thanks.”
She starts to leave but when she turns she realizes that the one curly haired boy is still standing in front of her.
“Can you move please?”
“Boss?”
“I’m the owner. I wasn’t stealing. I paid for it this morning when I came in, like I do every morning. Even though I don’t have to. I really got to go now, second job calling me. Bye.”
She quickly pivots and walks around him, making it to her car in a record amount of time. She drives to the studio, and hurries inside, a downpour starting right as she pulled into the parking lot.
“Hey boss! We weren’t expecting you ‘til later.”
“Change of plans, there is some new band coming in today. Alexis scheduled the appointment without telling me. She called me this morning from France to say we had some boy band coming in. I hate when she does this to me.”
“Oh yea it is right here Jonas Brothers 12:30 PM.”
“Jonas Brothers wow that sounds about as exciting as Hanson. Bloody hell why did she leave me here to deal with these people.”
“You can’t blame her it’s her honeymoon.”
“No Abigail, I can blame her, no matter if it is her honeymoon or not. She KNEW, she knew when she planned it that. I don’t understand why she wouldn’t tell me. She knew before today, why wait until today to tell me? I mean look how I dressed, this was for the coffee shop. I do not have appropriate attire for meeting anyone.”
“You look good boss.”
“You have to say that.”
She scurries down the hall into the office she shares with her twin sister. The plaque on the door just read the boss, no one ever called her by her real name, and when it had read Alexis everyone called her that. And Alexis was the name of the gorgeous blond girl sitting, or lying no one knows which and no one wants to know, in France on her honeymoon at that very moment. Her phone lets out a little beep and she presses the red intercom button.
“Boss your 12:30 is here.”
“Send them in.”
The three boys from the coffee shop walk in and she raises her eyebrow, she spotted them before they spotted her, mainly because she was hiding in a corner. She chokes a laugh causing the boys to look over and spot her.
“Aren’t you the girl from the coffee shop?”
“How did you know? So you are the Jonas Brothers that fits.”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me it fits that you three are a boy band, a clean cut boy band at that.”
“What are you trying today?”
“Its not what I’m trying to say, it’s what I’m saying. How did you get signed to DeffCore. Doesn’t Disney have it’s own little record label you could be on.”
“Well aren’t you a brat? Are you really the owner?”
“Co-owner. My sister and I are the owners of DeffCore. Yea put us together and you get bossed squared.”
“That reminds me what’s your name?”
“What’s yours?”
“I’m Kevin, these are my brothers Joe and Nick.”
“Nice to meet you I’m boss.”
“Your name is not boss.”
“Your right it’s not. But everyone calls me boss and you will too. Or you don’t have to talk to me. It works like that.”
“There has got to be someone who calls you your real name.”
“Your right there are two people. And if I can get away with it you will never talk to either of them.”
