Chapter One
"Nick!" They were used to screams by now. Usually they were trained to run for their lives in the opposite direction but not with this voice. Instead, the curly-headed kid ran towards it. He enveloped her in a warm hug and held her tight. It had been three months since they had seen one another and since he had heard that voice.
He didn't say a word. He wanted to take in the moment for everything it was. Finally, a familiar house, faces, and embrace.
"You have to tell me everything!", she said as she let go. They held hands the whole way to up to the house. He couldn't help but find himself lost in her eyes. All around the country and yet, he hadn't seen any other color like it. She talked all about how things have been at home, how the show was going, how all their friends were and he just sat there, staring aimlessly. His eyes were fixated as if he were put in a trance.
"Yoohoo? Nicholas?", she waved her hand in front of his face to bring his attention back.
"I'm sorry, what were you saying?", he asked, trying to stay connected to the conversation.
"I asked how the tour was", she answered, with a tone of annoyance. She crossed her arms and slipped back further into the large couch.
"Yea, it was awesome. I mean, like, amazing". He didn't have much to say. A tour was a tour. Once you've been on one, they really don't change much. Sure, they crowds were a little bigger and a little louder this time but, it mainly consisted of endless hours on a tour bus and minimal sleep.
"That's it? Awesome and amazing?" The annoyance grew and so did the fury in her eyes. She wanted more than just that out of him.
He shrugged and nodded his head. She shook her. Both slouched back and he reached for the remote control. It was pure silence for a few minutes. That is, until Frankie walked in.
"Lindsay!", he yelled as he bounced in between them. She hugged the little guy and he showed her his newest Webkinz. She laughed, as did he. Soon, Frankie was called by his mother and the silence was back.
"So, did you get to see any cool places in the cities?", she interrogated in hopes that he would open up some more.
"Yea, a couple of museums and what not. You know, the usual". Silence again.
"Nick? Is there something wrong?" Her voice raised.
"Lindsay, no. There's just not much to say. You came with us last time. I'm sorry, I'm just a little tired too." He finally said. She grinned and was content with that answer.
"I wish I could have come but, the show is so demanding right now." She was no stranger to the limelight either.
"Well, don't worry. We have three whole weeks to be together now" He grabbed her hand and held it tight. This made both of their lips curl up.
"Nicholas, can you come here for a second?", Denise yelled from the kitchen. He stood up and walked in, Lindsay following not far behind. "We need to talk to you boys."
Well, there it is! Chapter One. Aimeé's chapter is next. Enjoy :)
