Chapter 1

 Lies Your Girlfriend Told Me
    Ash looked around the small dress store in the mall. The store really wasn’t busy. The only persons, or anything that seemed busy at all was her coworkers. Ash was 18, and well to clear things up her name was Ashley but people only called her that when they really wanted to annoy her. So she was 18 and just graduated from high school. She decided to take her college courses online. It just seemed easier that way. Her coworkers, Hannah and Sarah were busy doing what they always did. Talk. Honestly she never saw girls talk about  so long about a whole lot of nothing. Not that they weren’t great girls, but being a lot younger that Ash she looked at them more as little sisters. Today the hot topic was of course the Jonas Brothers. The bad thing was Ash knew them personally, actually she was Best Friends with Kevin. Not that she ever told them that or believe her they would never stop asking her questions.  Kevin and her had been best friends since he had been her algebra tutor back in school. Even though he graduated before her, they still kept in touch. To be honest they did more talking about the latest movie then studying. She was stocking the shoe shelves in the back of the store when Sarah came and asked her a question.
    “Are you a Jonas Brothers Fan?” Sarah asked all so innocently.
    “Your could say that.” Ash said trying to keep from laughing.
    “What’s that suppose to me?” Hannah soon chimed in.
    “What I mean is they appeal to girls more you age, you know 14, 15. Sure there cute but eventually everybody gets over them and then there little sister like them.” Ash said trying to hide the fact she was lying.
    “Oh…” Sarah said. It seemed to damped her sprits for a moment. 3..2..1 Ash counted down in her head and like clockwork they were back to normal with the never ending questions.
    “…But you said you were kind of a fan what is that suppose to mean?” Hannah asked.
    “Oh…well..” BUZZ her cell phone alarm went off. “Yes, it’s the end of my shift. Ok, Hannah, Sarah I need you to finish stocking these shelves. Whoever is the next shift should be here any second.” Ash said more than thankful her shift ended. Ash took off her name tag and let down her ponytail. She shook her head a few time to try to get it to look half decent. She put on her sunglasses with a brown lens and a white frame. “See you tomorrow girls!” She yelled as she walked out the store into the busy mall. Her cell phone began to ring. The caller ID read Kevin. She sighed a breath of relief. “Hey, what’s up.” She said glancing at her watch. 5 pm his show  would be starting in about two hours.
    “How far are you from our venue right now?” A stressed Kevin came through the line.
    “Uhh…I could make it there in an hour tops. Why?”
    “Promise you won’t laugh” Kevin asked.
    “Kevin don’t you think I am a little more mature….”
    “Just promise me!” She could tell he was in a hurry. She sat down on a bench in the mall.
    “Ok…I promise.” She said.
    “Ok at the hotel…I left my shoes there…and I am kind of stuck here without shoes.”
    “How do you forget your shoes…” She began she was cut off.
    “I don’t know all I know is I have concert to do in 2 hours and I have no shoes.”
    “Ok, I will stop by and pick them up.” She said in an attempt to calm him down.
    “Thanks, my room is 2317, I will leave a message at the hotel to make sure they let you in.” Kevin said.
    “Alright I am leaving work right now.” Ash said. “See you in about an hour.”
    “Thanks, you’re the best.” Kevin said hanging up.
    “I try.” She said before she started running for the exit of the mall. Ash was in for a big surprise…and it was more than just Kevin in bare feet.

                    Chapter 2
    Ash walked into Kevin’s room. Typical. She thought to herself. The place was pretty messy or at least that is what she thought till she looked over into Joe’s room. Never mind Kevin’s room was clean. She opened on of the many suitcases. Bingo she found all his shoes. She tried to remember what Kevin’s outfit looked like for this tour and tried to pick the best shoes she could. Wait, Kevin is at a venue, waiting to do a concert in less than two hours, and I am here thinking about what shoes he would like! Went through her brain as she grabbed whatever shoes were in her hand. She glanced at the clock as she was stuck in traffic. Ash what were you thinking, they are the Jonas Brothers of course traffic is going to be backed up for a mile. She pulled her car off to the side of the road. She rolled her eyes. “I can’t believe I am doing this.” She said to herself as she took off her high heel and stepped out onto the sidewalk. She began running as fast as she could. She ran and ran finally the venue was in sight. By now she was sweating, out of breathe and would kill for a drink. She found the back stage door exit. And pounded on it. Big Rob came to answer it. “Hey.” He asked. He knew her very well so he didn’t hesitate letting her in, he just wondered why she was a mess, out of breathe and without shoes, carrying Kevin’s shoes.
    “It’s all part of the job” Ash said as she walked into the crazy venue. Backstage was always crazy but tonight It seemed a little more crazy. She walked around till she found Denise. “Where’s Kevin? I um…have his shoes.” Ash said realizing how crazy that really sounded.
    “He’s in the dressing room.” Denise said pointing down the hall. “Oh, and um…thanks” Denise added.
    “Hey what’s the point of having a best friend if you can’t asked them to bring you shoes when your in a pinch.” Ash said sarcastically. They both laughed.  Ash wondered down the hall till she found the dressing room. The door was shut she almost went in but stopped and knocked. It was only a few second before a frazzled looking Kevin opened the door and hurried her in the room. “What’s Up?” Ash asked  Joe and Nick.
    “More like what’s up with you, you look like you just ran a marathon.?” Nick asked. Ash glanced into the mirror. Her hair was fly away and she looked like, well she just ran a marathon.
    “The point is I got here in time with Kevin’s shoes.” She handed the shoes to Kevin who was more than grateful.  He walked out of the dressing room looking anxious. Ash laughed to herself.
    “What’s with him?” She asked Nick who just rolled his eyes. “And the rolling of the eyes mean…” Ash said trying to get them to understand she had no idea what is going on.
    “He didn’t tell you?” Joe asked.
    “Tell me what…” Ash asked totally lost.
    “About her.” Nick said.
    “Her?”
    “Yeah, Meluhknee.” Nick said handing her Kevin’s wallet. She opened it and pulled out a picture of Meluhknee where her picture once was.
