Chapter 2 ____
Jane tensed up when she felt Joe’s breathing against her ear. It went down her a neck a bit. “I- I’m- Hi I’m J-Jane,” Jane blushed a bit, but Joe couldn’t see her face that well because of the darkness and flashing lights. Jane couldn’t really describe Joe’s face that much, but from what she saw he had black hair which curled slightly at the end of each strand on his head. It was wavy and curly at the same time. He was wearing skinny fit jeans and a black t-shirt. The dumb lights messed up most of Jane’s vision. The rest of the night she prayed that she wouldn’t become color blind. For some reason, Jane could recognize Joe’s voice.
The music still played in the background as the two stood there. Joe brushed his arm against Jane’s. “So, Jane, want to dance?” Joe questioned. All Jane could do was nod. The two started jumping up and down and dancing. Soon the song Hook Me Up by The Veronicas came on.
“I love this song!” Jane shouted. Joe smiled. He took his hands and intertwined them with Jane’s. The two still danced together.
I'm tired of my life
I feel so in between
I'm sick of all my friends
Girls can be so mean
I feel like throwing out
Everything I wear
Starting over new
Cause I'm not even there
The two jumped up and down smiling and laughing. Jane looked up to see Kim staring at them. Jane ignored her and kept on dancing with Joe. The lights went along with the beat to the song.
Sometimes...
I want to get away some place
But I don't want to stay too long
Sometimes
I want a brand new day
Trying to fit in where I don't belong
Hook....Hook me up
I want to feel the rain in my hair
Hook....Hook me up
Where should we go?
I don't even care
Anywhere is good enough
Hook me up
Hook me up
Jane’s smile caught Joe’s eye. She was definitely his type. He knew and she knew, too.
I like the lights turned out
The sound of closing doors
Not like other girls who always feel so sure
Of everything they are
Of what they're going to be
Sometimes I'm just a girl stuck inside of me
of me
Joe’s arms were around Jane’s lower stomach/upper waist. Jane’s arms were around Joe’s neck. Joe started doing the robot and Jane giggled. Jane bobbed her head back and forth like an Egyptian.
Sometimes
I want to disappear some place
But I don't want to stay too long
Sometimes
I'm feeling so alone
Trying to fit in where I don't belong
Hook....Hook me up
I want to feel the rain in my hair
Hook....Hook me up
Where should we go?
I don't even care
Anywhere is good enough
Hook me up
Hook me up
Anywhere is good enough
Hook me up
They're going to crash and burn
I'm going to find a way
Nothing left to say
The song was almost over and Joe and Jane were sweating to death by now. The club was so stuffed and it was hard to breathe in such a small tight place. The music was so loud that Jane’s body was beating with the song. Joe’s was as well. The moment became intense.
Hook....Hook me up
I want to feel the rain in my hair
Hook....Hook me up
Where should we go?
I don't even care (I don't even care)
Hook....Hook me up
I want to feel the rain in my hair
Hook....Hook me up
Where should we go?
I don't even care
Anywhere is good enough
Hook me up
Hook me up
Hook me up
After the song was finished people clapped and screamed from all the hype. Joe and Jane shook hands and then looked away from each other smiling.
“Sooo…,” Joe put his hands in his pockets and rocked back and forth. Jane scratched the back of her head.
“Uhhh…,” Jane looked around the club. Kim was still watching the two. Kim winked and Jane shook her head. Joe took his hand and tipped Jane’s head up. He bent down and kissed her on the lips. A shiver went down both of their backs. It seemed like forever, but only lasted for a couple minutes. The two pulled away from each other.
“So, do you want my-,” Joe felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around to see his brothers.
“We have to go,” the tall one spoke. Jane really couldn’t see them two well, but knew that they must be Joe’s friends or something. What she could describe was that the two friends of Joe both had curly hair. One had sideburns. The other one had shaggy, curly hair. The lights still flashed.
“But I’m in the mid-,” Joe was interrupted again but this time it was by the shaggy curly haired young man.
“Joe, let’s go! We have to leave,” Joe sighed loudly. Joe turned back to Jane.
“Will I ever see you again?” Joe asked Jane. Jane was about to open her mouth.
“Dude! Let’s go!” And with that Joe was dragged off by his two buddies. Jane was standing there watching him being taken away. 'I hope he actually knows those people,' Jane thought.
“Jane, if I don’t get out of her I’m going to have a seizure,” Kim grabbed onto Jane’s shoulder. Jane nodded and the two walked out of the club. Jane noticed her friend’s funny walking and the way she talked.
“Kim, you aren’t drunk, are you?” She turned to her friend. Kim laughed as if she heard the most hysterical thing in her life. “Oh god,” Jane wrapped her arm around her drunk friend.
“I swear to drunk, I’m not god,” Kim started clapping her hands and laughing as if she had something caught in her throat.
When the two reached Jane’s house it was 1:00 in the morning. Jane wanted to go to bed so badly, but Kim thought otherwise.
Kim was laying down on the bed holding her stomach. She was groaning for over an hour. Jane ranted on how she met the perfect guy for her.
“So it was a one night kiss!” Kim laughed. Jane threw a pillow at Kim. Kim groaned when it hit her on the head. “Ow…,” she murmured.
“Oh, go to bed. That didn’t hurt!” Jane plopped down next to her friend and fell asleep; dreaming about the mysterious boy named Joe.
