“WHOOO!!….WOOHOOOO!!…YOU CAN DO IT!…YOU’RE HALFWAY THERE!!!….DON’T STOP NOW!!!” Everyone screamed at the runners passing by. They were all red as tomatoes and looked extremely unhappy. I was real glad I wasn’t one of them.
“So I don’t think there’s many more people left, just stragglers, we can probably leave in a few minutes” I told the boys.
“Well, we’re good to go” Kevin said. Joe added the taco bell hand signal which made everyone giggle.
“Mmmm….taco bell” said Sam
“Or….Mickey Bars!!” I yelled
“Yeah….definitely mickey bars!!….you can’t just get those anywhere you know” Sam answered
“Yeah, we know” I told him, rolling my eyes.
Everyone had pretty much passed by so we decided to leave.
“OK everyone! To the tram!” I yelled and pointed towards the train in the sky.
“To the Train!!” They all yelled back in unison.
So we were sitting in Kevin’s Car, Him and Nick in the front, and me, Sam, and Joe in the back. The traffic was backed up for 20 minutes, everyone was leaving the magic kingdom after they were done cheering.
“Soooo……wow” I said
“What?” Joe asked
“I jut felt like breaking the awkward silence. Mission Accomplished” I answered
“Sweet” said Nick
“Okay, so hmm…..I think that we should start at the back of the park and get as far as we can before we have to eat. “ I said
“Well, you’re the ‘afficianado, so why not’” Said Kevin using air quotes for afficianado.
“Coooool” I said back
“Ok, so we need to start a conversation because awkward silences are my pet peeve” I told everyone
“BROWNIES” Shouted Joe
“ICE CREAM” I shouted back
“FLIPPERS” he shouted
“PENGUINS”
“COMPUTER”
“BARBIES”
“POPCORN”
“BABIES”
“ALARM CLOCKS” Joe and I shouted back and forth.
“Geez you two are loud” Nick shouted over our shouting.
“Well, it’s a fun game, we have to shout” Joe told him
“FIRE” I shouted. Everyone started laughing
“Pyromaniac” Joe said to me.
“Yep….that’s me…crazy loud girl that loves pop-tarts and fire” I joked
“Pop-Tarts are like, the best thing since” Joe started
“Microwaved popcorn” I finished.
*KEVIN’S POV*
Joe and Maddy were made for each other, Joe sees it but I’m not so sure about Maddy Kevin thought to himself. He’s so flirty in the first place, she probably can’t tell how much he likes her. It’s painfully obvious to everyone but Maddy.
“So…I hate to interrupt your fascinating game, but we should probably decide what rides we’re going on.” I explained.
“Whatever we want to Kev….MICE” he shouted to Maddy. He wasn’t interested to having a conversation, he wanted to keep his eyes on her.
So half and hour later we were finally pulling back into the Boardwalk Villas, sweaty and hungry.
“So, we’re in room 122, how about you guys? “ I asked
“Umm…uh…” Maddy stammered, she and Joe were off in their own little world.
“120” Sam told me
“OH! So we’re practically right next to each other” Nick said
“That’s so cool!!” Maddy Yelled, finally acknowledging everyone else.
“I thought I heard people coming in late last night” she added
“Yep, that was us….we’re loud people” Joe told her
“YOU’RE the loud one Joe” Nick said
“Whatever, we’re Italian, all of us are loud” He told Nick
“But you especially” Nick said back
Joe just glared at Nick.
“That’s alright, I’m loud too, I can’t help it” Maddy laughed. I could see Joe’s eyes light up, which pretty much happened anytime she talked, or looked at him, or breathed.
*MADDY’S POV*
My throat was almost getting sore from screaming back and forth at Joe in the car the whole way home.
“Alrighty….so me and Sam will go get cleaned up and you guys can too….just come in to our room when we’re ready, or vice versa, whatever” I told the guys
“We’ll come to you” Kevin said
“OK, well see you guys in…..half an hour, 45 minutes?” I asked
“Hah, 45 minutes at the least… Joe takes so long to get ready” Kevin laughed
“Oh, trust me, Madeleine does too.” Sam said
Joe glared at Kevin and I glared at Sam. We all went to our rooms and I told Sam to take a shower first, then I pulled out my cellphone to call by Best Friend Lexi. Dial tone…..dial tone…blah blah blah. She answered.
“OMYJONAS LEXI YOU WILL NOT BELIVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED. IT WAS AMAAAAAAZING!!!” I screamed into the phone.
“what is so important that you decided to deafen me from a different state?” She asked
“Well, it has to do with the Jonas Brothers” I told her
“OOH TELL ME TELL ME!!” she squealed.
“I MET THEM AT THE RACE!!!!” I yelled into my phone
“NUH-UH….YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME” She yelled back
“NO, and that’s not it, so here’s the whole story. Me and Sam were running our butts off trying to find a space in line, Kevin goes, hey we got a spot here, I realize it’s Kevin, freak out, and go stand by them. Joe turns around and OMYFREAKINGOD Lexi, I thought I was gonna die. So we start talking, and long story short, we’re hanging around the Magic Kingdom with them today” I yelled
“*silence*”
“Lexi?…….LEXI!!!”
“Yeah” she answered
“You’re not saying anything” I said
“I’m speechless, not to mention insanely jealous, how did Kevin look by the way??” She asked, Lexi was one of the few Kevin obsessed.
“Great, I promise to take lots and lots of pictures for you” I told her
“Thank you soooooooo much mads” she said back
“Ok, I gotta go get cleaned up, talk to you later” I told her
“You got it babe” she said. I hung up and laughed, you got it babe was her signature sign off to me ever since we were in the 4th grade and going through the full house stage.
“Bathroom’s all yours” Sam told me. So I showered, and re-straightened my hair, and put a little mascara on. I put on my favorite T-Shirt and Board Shorts, it was too hot for my trademark skinny jeans.
*JOE’S POV*
“Wow, she’s really really great” I told the guys after we’d all gotten cleaned up.
“You don’t say” Nick said sarcastically
“What?” I asked him
“Umm…could you be any more obvious Joe? Seriously” Kevin told me.
“Well….you guy s can tell I like her a lot, why can’t she?” I asked them
“Dude, you have to tell her, she’d obviously not gonna get it by herself” Nick said. Joe sighed.
“Nick, you need a girl dude, seriously, miley’s never gonna get over you unless she sees you with someone else” I told him
“WHOA. How did this change from your love life to mine?” Nick asked
“I was changing the subject” I said
“Obviously, so are we ready to go?” Nick asked
“Yep” Joe and Kevin answered. Joe’s right, I need to find a girl, he thought to himself.
*MADDY’S POV
I was walking into the living room of our villa just as the boys knocked. I knew it was Joe knocking since the knock was to the beat of SOS.
“Come in” I yelled
“We don’t have a key” Kevin yelled back
“Oh Right!” I yelled and opened the door.
“Sorry, I totally forgot” I told them
“No problaymo” Joe told me
“Dude, stop saying that, it’s so lame” Nick told him
“Not when I say, hello, you are talking to JOE JONAS” he said with all his manly might. Everyone started laughing.
“No. Seriously” Joe joked.
“Right, okay, I’m pretty much starving, so I think we should eat now before I keel over” I told everyone
“I second that notion” Joe added
“Of course you do” Nick mumbled
“What?” I asked him
“Oh, nothing” he answered, but I noticed Joe glaring at him.
*JOE’S POV*
Maddy looks so good in anything she wears, she just doesn’t know it. Joe thought to himself. I have to tell her how I feel today, otherwise It will be worthless. Yeah, I’m definitely telling her today. Soon.
“So, where shall we eat then?” I asked
“I’m thinking the Pub at Downtown Disney, they have the best food there” Maddy answered
“Sweeeet” I said back.
“Yeah….sweeeet” she laughed. I couldn’t get enough of her.
*MADDY’S POV*
“I’ll have the spinach and Artichoke dip, thanks” I told the waiter. We gave him our menus and he left. I was so hungry, you hear my stomach grumble from across the table, and just my luck, Joe was sitting right next to me.
“Geez…you’re stomach will not be unnoticed” Joe joked
“I know, I don’t know what I did to get a monster stomach, but I guess I’ll just have to deal” I said
“So. Maddy. What do you like to do in your spare time” Joe asked me.
“Am I being interrogated?” I asked Kevin jokingly.
“So. Joe. What do you like to do in your spare time” I mocked.
“Haha….verrrrry funny” He said
“Well, seriously, I mean, I wanna know something the whole world doesn’t know about you guys” I told them.
“Hmmm….this is always hard to answer” Kevin said
“Umm…I never really liked the song 6 minutes all that much” Nick said
“That’s it??” I asked
“well, we could think of more but it might take a couple hours” Kevin said.
“Well, Fine” I said, crossing my arms and pretending to be irritated.
“Well, tell us about you, we don’t know that much” Joe told me.
“Ummm…okay, I uhh…I’ve been dancing for 10 years, I love my computer more than anything, I spend wayyyyy too much time on it, I hate school more than anything, but I have a 3.8 GPA, and I’m planning on going to MSU.” I blurted
“Wow….come up for air” Joe laughed.
“Seriously, my life is not all that thrilling” I told them.
“I doubt it” Kevin said
“Don’t” I told him.
“Listen, I’m gonna walk around a little, check out the ‘downtown’ before our food comes” Joe said
“Anyone wanna join me??” he asked. I could see him looking at me with a hopeful face for some reason.
“Umm…OK, I’ll come, otherwise you’ll get yourself lost” I joked
“Anyone else” I asked
“Nope, no thanks” everyone said. OK, this is weird, I thought to myself.
“K, come on Joe, lets blow this popsicle stand” I told him
“Right behind ya” he said. We walked out of the pub and started people watching around the sidewalk.
“So, why’d you wanna walk around out here” I asked
“To tell you the truth, I just need to tell you something without everyone there” he told me. This was really weird, what would he possibly need to tell me alone?.
“Shoot” I told him
“Listen, I don’t really know how else to say except…..” he stammered
“Except what” I asked him. Next thing I know his lips are on mine.
“That” he says when we finally come up for air.
“Wow……..” I stammer, I can’t really talk at all. I kind of just stand there frozen.
“Maddy?” Joe asks
“MADDY?” he asks again.
“Yeah” I answer
“Whatcha thinking” he asks.
“I’m thinking….now it’s my turn” I slowly lean in and kiss him, but this time, it’s for real.
