Princess Nobody [needs readers badly]
Modified By Kylie{Apparently he thinks that it's creepy that I like him!} on 8/12/2008 5:00:27 PM)

ok guys this is for fans of my other fics Illusion of the Heart and it's sequel, Early Summer. And for anyone else who wants to read it!! this is my 3rd fanfic. plz comment!

Princess Nobody
Once upon a time, in a far-away kingdom… That’s how all the other fairy tale stories start, right? Well, this isn’t a fairy tale. This is modern-day America, without princesses or princes. The closest thing we’ve got is rock stars and pop divas, who are just as bratty and spoiled-rich as those royals from forever ago. Of course, I don’t have anywhere to talk. Been there, done that, never going to do that again.
I was a princess born into a world of third-class families. Why me?!
Chapter One
“Alice!” a voice from downstairs called.
Alice Morgan groaned into her pillow, wishing today would just be over. It was Friday, and she was waking up at 6:30 in the morning. Even school shouldn’t have forced people to do that!
Her mom called her name again, and she unwillingly obeyed. Alice looked around the room, searching for the clothes she’d picked out the night before. There they were, lying on the back of her desk chair. After a quick look at what she’d chosen, she pulled them on, than looked into the full-length mirror hanging on the back of her closet door.
Alice’s straight hair was in tangles, eyes still droopy from sleep. She slowly scanned her outfit: a mini-skirt that ended a little past the tips of her fingers, a sparkly, deep v-neck, white baby doll tank-top with lace, and shiny silver Converse ballet flats. After grabbing her brush, she combed her wild mass of hair until it hung down to her shoulders. Alice leaned closer towards the mirror and saw her gorgeous eyes. Those were her prized possession; Alice’s dark green-and-gold-flaked eyes dazzled everyone. Sometimes they dazzled Alice, even. They were unique, beautiful, and all hers. Alice’s romantic gold-blonde hair hung down in waves on her shoulders. Alice’s almost-perfect 17-year-old face looked back at her. She smirked into the mirror, feeling a little smug, and walked downstairs. She realized there was no reason to be nervous; she knew she looked perfect.
“What, Mom?” Alice asked as she came downstairs.
“Breakfast, Aly!” she sang. “Do you want any pancakes?”
Alice looked over her flannel purple star-covered pj’s. “Sure, Mom.” She answered, just to make her happy.
“Ok, good, cause I made lots!” She slid a fluffy, calorie-infested, butter- and syrup-covered pancake onto her plastic plate.
“Mmm, looks good, Mom.” she fake-smiled at her.
Her mom seemed glad that Alice was eating something for once. “Alright, honey, eat up!”
She stabbed her fork into her pancake and swirled it around on the plate. Alice heard the clomping feet of her dad’s ugly bulldog, Carrot, and looked up. He sat at her feet with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. She saw that her mom was busy cooking more pancakes. Quickly, she pushed the pancake off the plate and gave it to Carrot. “Yum, Mom, really good pancakes.”
Alice grimaced as Carrot chomped on the pancake. She dropped her plate into the sink and walked towards the door, grabbing her pink messenger bag on the way out.
Luckily, she wasn’t hungry in the least.
Alice slid into the driver’s seat of her brand-new gold Volvo and drove to her much-too-mundane high school.
~ ~ ~
Middleton High School was boring, and very unimpressive. It was the type of school that, if she wasn’t going to it herself, Alice would feel sorry for the people who did have to go to it. She still felt sorry for herself.
She parked her Volvo in the spot nearest to the school so she wouldn’t have to walk far.
The minute Alice stepped into the school she noticed the huge commotion. She slowly walked down the hall to where a group of girls were standing, swinging her hips. Boys stared as she walked by, looking at her hips as they swung back-and-forth. Some girls boiled in jealous rage at the sight of her. She smiled a very smug smile and eventually reached the girls at the end of the hallway.
“What’s up, girls?” she asked. The talking and giggling stopped for a moment as the girls turned to look at her. Then it all started up again.
“Come see, Aly!” Tess called to her. She was one of the girls Alice could sort of call a friend. Girls made way for Alice when she walked to the front of the crowd.
“So… what’s up?” she asked again.
“Look who’s going to join our school!” Tess squealed. That was exactly why Alice couldn’t call her a “real” friend. She got too excited over the small things.
ALice peered through the sliver of glass window in the door. Two dark-haired boys were standing with their backs to the door. Principal Goldman was speaking to them.
The boys definitely seemed familiar, but how could she tell? Alice had seen and dated many boys. “Who are they?” she asked blandly.
Tess stared at Alice with a shocked look on her face. “Aly! That’s Joe and Nick Jonas standing in there! They’re joining our school!”
Alice just stared at her. She recognized the name Jonas. Didn’t she date a Joe Jonas once? No, that had been Jonah Jakes. Weren’t the Jonas Brothers famous for something? Was it… acting? No. Maybe, uh… “Who?” Alice asked.
“Joe. And. Nick. Jonas.” Tess answered slowly. “They’re those really popular Disney singers!”
Disney? Hm. No wonder Alice didn’t recognize what they did very well. Tess seemed excited. Alice, honestly, was bored. “Right. You mean those cookie-cutter popstar singers?” She asked Tess a little evilly, smirking.
“No! They’re rock stars! Totally hot rock stars!” Tess shouted. Most of the girls around Alice murmured in agreement.
She lifted an eyebrow. “If they’re such ‘rock stars’, then why have I never heard of them?” She smirked again, feeling pretty proud of what she had said.
Tess lifted a finger and opened her mouth to say something, but immediately dropped it and closed her mouth, not finding anything to say.
Alice walked away, swinging her hips again. The bell rang and, while others raced to their classrooms, she walked at a normal pace, hoping to get there fashionably late.
~ ~ ~
The 3:30 bell rang. Alice got up slowly and exited the classroom after everyone else.
And then there was a scream.
For a moment, she was stunned and stopped walking. But then she realized that if it wasn’t her screaming, than it had nothing to do with her. But she still walked a little faster than normal so she could find the source of the scream.
Two girls were standing in front of a classroom, practically melting into the door they were so close to it.
“What is it this time?” Alice asked them in a bored voice.
                “OhmygodNickJonasandJoeJonasareinthatroom!” the two girls screamed.
                “Say again?”
One girl sighed in an annoyed way and explained, “We said, ‘oh my god, Nick and Joe Jonas are in that room’!” her voice oozed “duh”.
Alice steamed with anger. “Oh, really? What’re two brain-dead popstars doing in a class room? Aren’t they supposed to be on tour or something?” she hid her anger behind her bored voice.
The other girl gasped as if Alice had just said her dog had died. “Brain-dead? Popstars? Alice, if you actually listened to their music, you wouldn’t think so!”

Alice sighed, knowing she’d never hear the end of it if she kept saying bad things about them. So she just walked away.

should i continue?

Modified By Kylie{Apparently he thinks that it's creepy that I like him!} on 8/13/2008 5:50:37 PM)

ok guys next chappie!! PS, i wasn't expected peeps 2 actually comment but i wrote this chapter anyway. lol. i prob would've finished it anyway. ok chapter 2!

Chapter Two
Joe Jonas and his brother, Nick, opened the door slowly. No one was in the hallway as far as they could tell.
“Sshhh!” Nick warned. The boys quietly walked out of the classroom, expecting a wave of fans to attack them. Instead, they saw only one girl. She had gold-blonde hair and amazing gold-flecked green eyes. The girl seemed about Joe’s age.
                “Whoa.” Joe choked out.
                “Dude!” Nick whisper-yelled. “Keep walking!”
The pretty girl stepped in front of them. “Hey,” she greeted them, giving them a cute half-smile.
“Hi,” Joe said, surprised that not one girl had attacked them yet. This girl didn’t really seem to care who they were.
“So… you’re the boys who every girl in this school are freaking out about, then. Hm. You don’t seem like much.” The girl said.
Joe’s mouth practically dropped open. “What did you say?” Nick kicked him subtly in the leg.
“I said that you don’t seem like the cookie-cutter popstar type.” She answered.
“Well… we’re not.” Nick said with a shrug.
“Really. Well, I’ve never heard of you. Of course, I do know that there’s three of you. Screaming girls can be informal.” She laughed slightly.
“Yeah. Our brother, Kevin, is kind of out chauffeur. We’ve got to go meet him in the parking lot. So we’ll see you tomorrow.” Nick said.
“Alright. Mind if I walk out with you?” she asked with a sweet smile.
“No.” Joe said quickly. He didn’t want this girl to leave him just yet.
Nick rolled his eyes. “Come on. We won’t bite.” The girl giggled behind her hand.
Joe and Nick started walking out the door, followed by the girl.
“Oh, that reminds me.” Nick started. “What’s your name?”
“Alice. But everyone calls me Aly.” She answered from behind the boys.
“Ok.” Joe said, once again much too quickly.
Alice walked out the door without another word. The boys saw her hop into a gold Volvo. “Whoa…” they both whispered. “A Volvo?”
~ ~ ~
That had been pathetic. Alice thought to herself on the drive home. Was Joe always like that around girls? I mean, Alice knew she was pretty and all but really! He should’ve been used to it by then.
She had really enjoyed Nick and Joe’s gasp when they saw her hop into her Volvo. That was pretty satisfying. She smirked again as she thought of Nick kicking Joe in the leg to keep him from babbling too much. Alice pulled into her driveway and unlocked the door.
“Mom! Dad! I’m home!” she called. It seemed… empty. “Hello?”
                Only silence answered her.
Alice wasn’t the type of girl who got scared easily. But the eerily empty house freaked her out. She pulled out her phone, skimming through her list of numbers. Why in the world didn’t she have more friends? She picked a name at random. It was Kiely Summers, her other sort-of-a-friend. “Hey, Kiely.” She greeted when Kiely picked up after the first ring.
“Aly? Oh, hey, it’s been forever, hasn’t it?” Kiely said happily.
“Yeah, it really has.” She said, hearing her voice shake a little. “But anyway. My parents are gone, and I’ve got no idea where they are.”
“Really? Oh, wow. Well, they told my parents that they were going to stay home today. When my parents called them a little bit ago no one picked up.”
Alice was nervous, but she tried really hard to hide it. “Well, what do I do?” she asked in a bored voice.
“I don’t know! Call them or something!”
“Ok. I will. Thanks Keels!” I said as I hung up.
Alice sighed and slid down the side of the kitchen sink. Her back leaned on the cabinet. The wood felt cold on her cheek as she turned her face to look at the oven. “What’s going on?” she asked herself.
A knock on the front door made her jump. She quickly stood up and tried to see who was outside through the window in the door. “Hello?” she called, hoping the person outside could hear her. No one answered. She was forced to walk to the door and see who it was.
Alice tip-toed slowly over to the front door. She opened it, revealing Joe Jonas. “What in the world?” Alice exclaimed.
“Hey, Aly.” He greeted her, giving her a small wave.
“Why are you at my house and how do you know where I live?” she asked suspiciously.
“The answer to your first question is that I came here to tell you that your parents are at my house. They didn’t have your cell number, so they sent me over here. The answer to the second question is that I’m your new neighbor.”
Alice was about to complain about him coming over and then shouted, “What?!” How could she not have known that the Jonas Brothers were her new neighbors? “Ok, so, how did I not know this?”
“Well… When we left, it was about 6 in the morning so we wouldn’t run into traffic or screaming girls. And I suspect you were still asleep around that time. Right?”
Alice nodded absentmindedly. Neighbors? Well. That kind of sucked.
“Want to come to my house? Your parents wanted you to.”
“Alright, I’m coming. Just let me change.” Alice walked towards the stairs and then turned to see Joe still standing in the doorway. “Aren’t you going to come in?” she asked, hands on her hips.
“Uh… ok…” Joe said hesitantly. He slowly stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He didn’t seem impressed by the unexpectedly large house.
“Make yourself at home.” Alice told him as she went upstairs to change.
~ ~ ~
Wow. After seeing the school, Joe hadn’t expected anything like this house to be where Alice lived. But it was. There were three stories: a basement, a middle floor, and an upstairs. It was slightly messy, although after meeting her parents, he hadn’t expected much.
Alice was… definitely different. She seemed much more stuck up than the other girls at her school. Nick thought she was a brat, but Joe had to give her some credit. For a brat, she could nice.
Alice ran back downstairs. Joe almost stared. She was wearing a sparkly black skinny-strapped halter shirt with a deep v-neck and denim shorts. She wore silver Converse high-tops. “Hey. Sorry about that. I had to dress down a little, seeing as I’m not in school right now.”
Dress down? Joe thought to himself. How is wearing that dressing down?! “Al-alright.” Joe stammered a little as he opened the door for Alice.
“Thanks,” she giggled, covering her mouth.
She and Joe walked to the Jonas house together, not really talking. Once they got there, Joe opened the door.
“Hi, Joe!” Mrs. Jonas greeted them as they walked in.
“Hey, Mom.” Joe answered. He pointed to Alice and said, “This is Alice Morgan. She’s the Morgan’s daughter, and our next door neighbor.”
“Welcome to our house, Alice.” Mrs. Jonas said.
“Thanks,” Alice answered quietly. She seemed shy. “Hey Mom, hey Dad!” Alice said when she saw her parents. She immediately turned into the real Alice again. “You could’ve left a note or something, y’know?” she complained.
“Aly, we figured you wouldn’t mind. Plus, we sent Joe over to get you!” Her mom answered with a wink. Alice rolled her eyes.
“Whatever, Mom.” Then she notice the other two Jonas Brothers, Nick and Kevin, sitting by the window on a huge couch. “Hi,” she said, giving a little wave.
The two nodded. Nick said, “Hey, Alice.”
Alice almost completely ignored him, even after saying hi.

Joe really hoped Alice would eventually stop pretending not to care.

sooooo????? gimme some love, jobro girls!
