So I've been totally like the character in this one shot named Stephani lately, and after I wrote this one shot I felt a hella lot better. So hopefully, I will not return to that girl. ILY(girls&ricky)
That’s What Friends Do
She was sad, extremely sad, her almost black eyes brimming over with tears. She had just fought with two of the people who meant the most to her in the whole world. And now she was bawling in the middle of her secret place her whole body shaking. She doesn’t hear the sound of his footsteps as he approaches or his soft hello. She doesn’t even register that he is there until he wraps his arm around her. She turns to the side and when she spots him she lets out a soft sigh.
“I ruined everything Kevin.”
“No you didn’t baby.”
She looks sadly at him, despite what he just said she had ruined her relationship with her two best friends. She was fighting with Ashley, simply because of the relationships the two girls had. Ashley was dating a boy five years her junior while she was dating a boy three years her senior. And they were arguing about who was more disturbed, who was the bigger slore, things like that. And she was fighting with Ricky, for no real reason at all, she was just mad at him for ignoring her, so she started to bi.tch him out and that lead to the pair not talking to one another.
“Yea I’m pretty sure I did Kevin.”
“I’m not going to fight with you Steph.”
She let out a sigh, she supposed that was good, she didn’t want to fight with Kevin he was one of the few people who still cared for her. After all they were dating, but she still knew that if they continued to talk they would most likely fight and it would end up badly.
So she sits her arms wrapped around her knees his arms around her, in complete and total silence. They sit like that for hours until his brother manages to find them somehow.
“Kev how is she doing?”
“She’s okay. Mom worried?”
“Yea and she said to tell you guys it’s dinner time.”
Kevin looks at the younger girl sitting in his arms and lets out a little sigh, his eyes turn back to his younger brother and he lets out a sigh.
“We’ll be there soon.”
His brother leaves and Kevin looks down at Stephani.
“Baby we have to go inside.”
She just nods her head and stands with him, ready to make her way to the house where the people she hurt the most were. As they enter the house she hides her face in his chest, she really didn’t want to face them right then.
The dinner was awkward and silent, except from the random comment from Joe, which was most likely loud and annoying. As dinner comes to an end everyone leaves except, Stephani and the Jonas family, she basically lives with them.
“Stephani what happened?”
Nick asks softly as he looks at his girlfriend’s best friend.
“Truthfully I have not a clue. It just happened, we were fine one second and the next we were arguing.”
“So apologize.”
Joe was mad that his best friend’s were fighting, he was best friends with both Ricky and Stephani.
“I did, well I tried, they both kind of just ignored me.”
“I have an idea.”
Everyone looks at Kevin the older boy had an idea, that wasn’t abnormal, what was abnormal was that he cared to share with them a plan about how to get Ricky and Ashley to listen.
“Write them a song and sing it at the next concert.”
It was a good plan, it also didn’t hurt that Stephani was the boys opening act on tour and that Ricky and Ashley came to every show.
“Help me.”
They spend the night writing lyrics and a beat and practice the song til the end of time. The next concert comes quickly and at the end of her set Stephani looks to the side where the three boys are waiting.
“Alright I’m going to do something different here tonight. Um I’d like to invite to the stage the Jonas Brothers to help me sing this next song. This goes out to Ricky and Ashley I love you guys.”
Stephani starts the song by strumming the acoustic guitar that she had been taught to play. Slowly the beat changes the words and music get louder and when the song ends she hangs her head and starts to walk off stage. She never makes it thought wrapped in hugs by three familiar faces, Ashley, Ricky and Ricky’s older sister, Crystal who was dating Joe.
“Forgive me?”
“Of course that’s what friends do.”
Ashley hugs her tighter and then Stephani’s eyes turn to Ricky, he was standoffish even though he had just hugged her.
“Ricky?”
“Steph.”
She takes that as his silent forgiveness and prays that she is right.
“I forgive you for being a huge slore to Ricky.”
Stephani lets out a little laugh and hugs Crystal again, she always knew what to say to lighten the mood.
“Oh Ricky I forgot to tell you, I want to introduce you to one of my friends.”
Stephani spots the auburn haired girl standing off the stage to the side and Ricky looks at Stephani a little frown on his face.
“Trust me you’ll love it.”
She points to the side and when Ricky sees the girl who Stephani is pointing to a huge smile breaks onto his face and he wraps his arms around her in a positively bone crushing hug.
“Thank you!”
“That’s what friends do.”
Four years later as Nick and Ashley walk down the isle together Stephani smiles up at her husband. He smiles down at Stephani and as they follow the younger/older couple out they watch Ricky and Demi get ‘closer’ as they make their way to the limo.
Stephani got Ricky and Demi together that night, and four years later to the day they got married, in the same church Nick and Ashley had been married in the year before. Nick and Ashley were also together because of Stephani, because without Stephani they would have never met, fell in love, got married and they wouldn’t be expecting their first(and second) child, something that Nicholas doesn’t know yet.
Then there was Joseph and Crystal, who were on and off again for the first two years of their relationship. Crystal met Joe through Stephani also, if the younger girl hadn’t been dating Joe’s older brother none of this would have happened. And after two years of on and off, they did something completely unexpected, ran away to Las Vegas and got married. Only to return, get seriously ‘punished’ and then forced to marry again in that exact church. Crystal was now expecting the couples second child and could as Joe put it ‘have him in the middle of the service.’
Stephani and Kevin were the last couple, the first to get married, only a year and six months after their first date. They had been married in that same church by Kevin’s father, as all four of the couples had been, and not long after they had their first child, a gorgeous little girl, who was indeed named Madison Grace. Their second came not much later, this time a boy, Paul Kevin Jonas the third, or as Joe so nicely nicknamed him, PK3. And then their third, and fourth, and fifth, Emily Amanda was the third baby born into the family her brothers following closely behind. Next was Nathaniel Adam, and rounding out the family was baby number five Joshua Jerry, also known as J3, also decided by Joseph.
“Baby you did it you made all of us happy how did you do it?”
“Don’t you know, that’s what friends do.”
