Hi all! A few weeks ago at camp, a friend of mine inspired a new fanfic! I am excited about it! Although I am a Kevin Girl, I felt that this story should be a Nick fic! Therefore, I dedicate this whole fic to my Nick girls: Dani, Madeline, Rachel, Jay, and Mel! I love you girls!
Enjoy!

Prologue:
Los Angeles. So many journey to this West Coast dreamland hoping to find a way to become someone whom everyone knows the name of. Some are able to make it big; others only make it small; while most are unable to make it at all. But, whatever happens, Los Angeles is not always friendly to its starry-eyed visitors and residents. Nevertheless, aspiring entertainers risk their family, friends, and entire way of life with the hope of being one of the fortunate few.
Then what am I doing here? I never saw myself as a potential star, and I never had any interest in moving anywhere. I was quite content in my small hometown of Shawnee, Oklahoma. But my older sister Charloett didn’t like living on the monotonous plains. Thus, her restlessness and acting talent brought her, along with me and my mother, to the California city. I could have stayed in Oklahoma with my father, whose job kept him stationary, especially since I had always been a daddy’s girl. But my loyalty to my sister tore me away from my father, out of my home, and away from any familiarity at all.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bitter. I was lucky in the fact that my sister didn’t have to look very long for a chance. Only a week after we had settled in our cramped LA apartment, Charloett got a call informing her she had scored a rather minor but reoccurring and very promising role on the Disney Channel’s newest original television series, which she had flown to LA to audition for months before. The show was sure to be a hit, and its star was sure to be the next Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, or Demi Lovato. That star’s name was Rebecca Matthews, and she was my age and quickly became a familiar acquaintance as I hung around the set helping Charloett with whatever she needed.
Now, months later, I could easily refer to her as my best friend. I could also easily refer to her as my boss. With her schedule growing more and more busy as promotion for her show began, she needed someone to do all the small things. That’s where I came in. And now, with my job, my junior year of high school, and continuing to help out my sister, I, Jasmine Morris, can no longer be called a normal 17 year-old girl. My schedule is so hectic that I can’t help but feel overwhelmed in it all. I also have started to wonder if helping others with their dreams was the only thing God had in store for me in L.A. Or if perhaps there was something waiting for me amidst all of the hustle and bustle of the city and of my life.
Comments are so appreciated!
