"Lanie! Turn it down!" I shouted over 'Shelf', an annoying Jonas Brothers song. They were good looking, can't deny that, but they just weren't my style.
The volume decreased and I flopped onto my bed, exhausted. I opened my backpack, eagerly looking for the envelope from my pen pal. Grabbing it, I slowly undid the seal and took out the paper.
Joanna,
Hey. I'm Joe. I'm 18 and I'm definetly the goofiest guy in my family. I've got an older brother, who will remain unnamed, and two younger brothers. My older and next youngest brother are in a band with me.
I'm wicked into Switchfoot, and they inspire a lot of our music. Most haters say we're a rip off band, but we still crank out the music. It's what we love. Nice choices, though. You're into alternative?
God, just my luck I'd end up writing to a Sox fan. Bruins, Pats, they're ok, but I'm a Yankees fan. I'll put your Sox fandom to the side for now. We'll just have to ignore that and never go to a baseball game together.
I love to play Halo with my brothers at home. I win, usually, but my brothers ROCK at Guitar Hero. Me... not so much.
I don't play guitar in my band, I just sing. I do play it, though. Good luck earning the money, they can be pretty expensive. My brother's Gibson cost $2,000 on sale.
I'm not a prep, at least I don't think. I'll get back to you on that one.
Talk to you again sometime...
Joe
