[ Thanks for the comments guys :D It makes me feel special <3 I lost ideas in the middle portion, so sorry for the lack of the thought then. ]
"And again, my name's Joe Jonas signing off!"
Grabbing on Nick and Kevin's wrist, we bowed, and I seemed to overdo it seeing as I yanked Kevin and Nick down so that they fell. Lights dimming. Floor lowering. Girls roaring. It was over, thank God.
"Terrific ending," Mom smiled sarcastically as we arrived at the backstage room. As usual, she hugged and congratulated us on another successful show, at least except for the descending. I wasn't in the mood to make a joke about it now. I wasn't in the mood for the past few weeks, actually. My change in temper was only noticeable to Kevin which surprised me seeing as though I hadn't had a laugh in awhile now except on stage when I was forced to.
"Dude," Nick smiled, half-laughing. "You almost dislocated my shoulder."
"Yeah, sorry," I looked away. I felt bad for causing something that would probably be a good laugh on Youtube for the next week or so. If you screwed up on a concert, you screwed up on camera too. It was the most important thing to remember when doing a show. There were no do-overs. We understood this pretty well, except for today.
"Don't worry," Nick said seeming to read my mind. "It was probably too dark then to catch it on camera."
He always said that, and he was always wrong. The crowd always had a way to catch the smallest things, even things we hadn't noticed until we saw the actual clip.
"Great, as always, dahlins'" a thin old woman with a strong Southern accent who I didn't notice was in the room neared towards us. "Good to have you today, fellas."
Assuming she was someone important like the stage manager, I tried to put on a smile. It was more of my mouth hanging open showing my teeth like you'd do at the dentist though. I wasn't good with faking.
"Boy, oh boy!" she cursed, glancing towards the clock. "Gotta get ready for that partay! Ya'll are commin', right?"
What party?
Kevin agreed quickly, saying he couldn't wait. The lady blew kisses and stumbled down the hall in her higher-than-usual high heels.
It didn't take me that long to get all over my brothers' cases.
"Party? How come I didn't here anything about a party?!" I raised my voice, nearly yelling when the old woman had very well left.
"We thought you'd back out, so we thought we'd trick you into thinking it'd be a photoshoot." Nick uttered innocently, trying to turn look the other direction.
"Well, it sucks that it didn't work out. I'm not go--"
I could hear Mom in the hallway, floating happily around the studio like she usually did when she was in a better-than-normal mood. We knew better than to disturb this, so I paused my rant as she dipped her head through the door.
"So, boys, I heard you're going to the party tonight?" she asked happily. "Sounds exciting!"
"Yep," Kevin eyed me. "Aren't we, Joe?"
I shot him a glare and slowly agreed, "Uh... we are." I said hesitantly before Mom nodded swiftly and continued down the hall. When she was around, I thought I lost my anger, and that I was the old Joe again, even just for awhile. The old, carefree, happy Joe. Honestly, I don't know where that part of me was anymore. I didn't know where anything was anymore.
I turned back towards where Kevin was standing, but he was already near the exit. He was a quick mover, like he had teleporting powers or something.
"Oh yeah," Kevin said before quickly disapearing out the door to avoid the wild chase that followed soon after. "You have to bring a date."
