Ok, so this is probably going to be my last fic for a while...
So I hope yall will read and comment !
First, I ask that you will please watch this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaVBb0pZ4vE
It will make a lot more sense.
The type in black is Joe's POV.
The type in blue is Izzy's POV.
The type that's italicized is the song. (When it's blue AND ital. it means Izzy is thinking the song in her head, and maybe singing it aloud; same with Joe if it's in black/bold. But if it is not bolded or in blue, that means it's just.. there, you know? Haha)
Ok? GO !
Izzy always was there when I needed her. Even though here father beat her, and her mother didn't care, she always looked chipper and happy.
But when we talked over the phone in the middle of the night, she showed her true emotions.
I met her about 5 years ago when I ran into her at a coffee shop, and she was running away. I convinced her not to.
But at school she got beat up, made fun of, and didn't have any friends.
By 17, she was suicidal.
I ran up the stairs of an old factory building.
Tears jumped to my eyes, but I swalled them and saved them for later.
I burst through the door to the roof, the cold night air whipping my long brown hair into my blue eyes, now full of tears.
I ran to the edge of the building and climbed up on top of it. I heard sirens.
But I sang:
On top of the roof;
The air is so cold and so calm;
I say your name in silence;
You don't wanna hear it right now;
The eyes of the city;
Are counting the tears falling down;
Each one a promise;
Of everything you never found...
One night, I found myself walking the streets of where I used to live, also near Izzy's. But suddenly, I heard sirens and people screaming.
I ran down the dark alley and turned the corner, my disguise still on: a hat, sunglasses.
I ran into the middle of the street and looked up to see a figure standing at the edge of a tall, abandoned factory building.
It was Izzy.
I scream into the night for you;
Don't make it true;
Don't jump.
The lights will not guide you through;
They're deceiving you;
Don't jump.
Don't let memories go;
Of me and you;
The world is down there out of view;
Please don't jump.
The police stood below, shouting out things to me.
I couldn't hear them; the wind on top of that old building filled my ears.
I looked down, and my heart raced as I saw how far down below the cold, hard ground was. But I saw a familiar face: Joe. He stared up at me with a frightened but tight expression: "Don't jump."
It scared me. I never wanted to see that expression on his face; at least not towards me. I shook my head as tears spilled over...
And Joe took off running.
You open your eyes;
But you can't remember what for;
The snow falls quietly;
You just can't feel it no more;
Somewhere out there;
You lost yourself in your pain;
You dream of the end;
To start all over again.
I sang quietly as I ran.
"I have to find an entrance," I said to myself.
Finally, after about 80 seconds of sprinting frantically, I found one.
Even though the air leaving my lungs burned, I ran up all the flights up stairs, exploding out the door to the roof.
I scream into the night for you;
Don't make it true;
Don't jump.
The lights will not guide you through;
They're deceiving you;
Don't jump.
Don't let memories go;
Of me and you;
The world is down there out of view;
Please don't jump...
Don't jump.
"STOP!" I heard the policeman yell after Joe.
I silently paryed that this would be all over, soon. I took a deep breath, but then the door open behind me and running footsteps aproach, and I sang aloud:
I don't know how long;
I can hold you so strong;
I don't know how long...
But he just sang back, taking my frozen hand in his warm one:
Just take my hand;
Give it a chance;
Don't jump.
She turned around, my hand still in hers. She jumped down, sobbing as she collapsed into my chest.
"Everything is over," she cried.
"No..." I whispered.
"What, then?" she argued.
"Your life," I breathed into her hair.
"Let go of me, Joseph," she growled pushing me away.
But, taking a chance, I pulled her back and pressed my lips against hers. She melted as her lips molded to mine, until rain started to pour down. She pulled away, crying even harder.
She got back up onto the edge, letting go of my hand.
Again, she sang to herself:
I scream into the night for you;
Don't make it true;
Don't jump.
The lights will not guide you through;
They're deceiving you;
Don't jump.
Don't let memories go,
Of me and you.
The world is down there out of view.
Please don't jump;
Don't jump.
And if all that can't hold you back,
I'll jump for you.
And then, before my very eyes,
she took a step.
