Adoption, Adoption, Everywhere

She looked to her husband their two daughters sleeping silently in the back of the car and she brings up a subject that she knows her doesn’t want to hear about, something they hadn’t talked about since their second child was born since the accident that changed her life, and his hopes.
“Kevin baby,” She looked at him and seeing no reaction said it once again, “Kevin baby.”
“Yea Spencer?”
She looks in the rear view mirror at the pair of little girls, Madison Grace, at six years old with her curly brunette hair, straight from her father, and her blue eyes that are purely her mother, and little Alyssa Marie four years old, with golden blond wavy locks and hazel eyes. Then she looks back to her husband.
“Kevin it’s been four years.”
He grits his teeth he knew exactly how long it had been since they had been told they couldn’t have anymore children of their own. Complications with Alyssa had forced Spencer to undergo emergency surgery and as they wheeled her out of the surgical room Kevin had been told that she would no longer be able to carry children.
“Yea Spencer I know.”
“What if we… what if we adopted a little boy or girl?”
“Spencer.”
“What Kevin? What now it’s not the right time still? We don’t have the money what?”
She was furious, they both had more than enough love for their two little girls, but he was saying that he didn’t want to help someone who needed their love!
“Spencer calm down you are waking up Madison and Alyssa.”
Her blue eyes turn to look in the mirror and when she spots her oldest daughters eyes sliding open she shuts her mouth. She didn’t want to have this argument now, in front of her kids, they would have it later after they arrived at Stephani and Nick’s place.
“We’ll talk about this later.”
“Mommy do you think Auntie Stephani is pregnant again?”
“Pregnant?”
The words cause Spencer to let out a laugh, she truly didn’t doubt it. In six year of marriage Nick and Stephani had five kids of own, Nicholas Jerry the second, Michael Andrew, Haley Leigh came first the triplets, never far from one another, followed by Nathan Daniel, and lastly Lucas Scott. Ranging in ages from six years of age to two years of age the couple were always trying to keep tract of where they all were and what they were getting into. Last time Spencer had talked to Stephani the younger girl was all smiles until, “LUCAS! GET YOU HAND OUT OF THE CATS LITTER BOX!” The newest addition to the family had been a six week old kitten, playfully named Jonas and two year old Lucas had been playing in the litter box.
“I don’t know baby, we’ll just have to see what they tell us when we get there.”
“JOE! YOU STUPID!”
Kevin screams suddenly stopping quickly causing everyone to fly forward.
“What the hell Kevin?”
“Joe.”
Spencer turns and looks out the front window down towards Nick & Stephani’s secluded house. Sure enough Joseph had stopped his mini van in front of Kevin’s own in a quick motion.
Joseph and Crystal were blessed with two gorgeous six year old girls, and two handsome three year old boys. Taylor Allison and Amanda Elizabeth both had their mothers eyes and their fathers hair, not that any minded while Joseph Adam the second, and James Eric both hair their mothers hair and fathers eyes.
“Joe what are you doing?”
Kevin is out of the car walking to scowl his younger brother for almost killing his wife and kids. Joe is out of his car also holding his nose as he looks inside of the van.
“What happened bro? Why did you stop?”
“Maybe cause my kid gets car sickness apparently and just vomited all over my van?”
“Really?”
Kevin starts to laugh at Joe’s expense and Joe turns to glare at him.
“It’s not funny.”
“To you.”
“Hey boys get back in your cars! We’re gonna be late!”
Kevin and Joe climb back into the mini vans and continue the drive down to Stephani and Nick’s house. The first sign that they arrived was the yard filled with toys four screaming little kids running around. But they don’t look like any of Stephani & Nick’s kids, two almost white blond hair and the other two red heads. Standing on the porch watching the kids is Stephani who is smiling and when she spots the cars she waves.
“Hey guys!”
“Hey Steph who are they?”
“You’ll see come on kids everyone’s here!”
Suddenly Stephani’s children emerge from the woods around the house and run inside followed by the four little mismatched kids and poor Lucas who had been held on Stephani’s hip.
“Come on in guys we have some big news. Nick is out back cooking I’ll just get him inside, but I don’t know how long that will last he wants his steak perfect!”
Stephani hurries through the house as the nine children that were already at her house mingle with the other six. When Stephani returns Nick is with her both are smiling widely.
“So we brought you guys here today to share some great news with you!”
“Your pregnant again aren’t you?”
Joe’s words cause Crystal to hit him and Stephani to glare.
“No I’m not Joseph thanks for asking. These gorgeous kids, the four you don’t know are our foster children. And hopefully we’ll be able to adopt them later this year. This is Lauren Marie, she prefers Ren, and her brother Joseph Kyle. Then Chelsie Dale and her twin Cory Daniel.”
“Your gonna adopt them?”
Spencer’s eyes shine maybe if Nick and Stephani do it, she can somehow convince Kevin that it is a good idea for them to also adopt a child, someone who needs love.
Her eyes turn to her husband and she sees the look of longing he has towards all the boys in the room. She was making sure to bring the subject up in a few minutes when it was just the two of them alone.
“Well if you are telling good news we might as well too. Joseph and I are adopting a little girl from China.”
“I KNEW JOE WAS ASIAN!”
Stephani’s eyes go wide after her own outburst and then she starts to laugh loudly as everyone else in the room starts to snicker.
“Kev…”
Spencer looks sadly at her husband and he looks back the same amount of sadness in his eyes. He wanted it as much as she did.
“Baby.”
“Can we just think of adopting a baby.”
“It’s on my mind. I love you baby.”
“I love you too.”
~Six.Months.Later~
The three large families stand in front of a judge, Stephani and Nick with their nine children all smiling looking and hoping for the best, Joe and Crystal with their new daughter in their arms their other children sitting around them grinning, and Spencer and Kevin are there with their two daughters and their twin sons.
“Do you promise to take this children as your own treat them no different then your own children and love them unconditionally?”
“We do.”
The three couples speak together all looking at the newest additions to their families.
“Well I have no problem with this you are all wonderful families, and these children will be lucky to have you as parents. Treat them well and someone will be out to check on you in a month. After that you’ll be fine.”
Spencer looks over at Kevin and spots the sparkle in his eyes, they finally completed their family, their sons.
“Adoption, Adoption, Everywhere a family for you and me.”
