One Shot for Sofie
Powers Out
Story is told in Kevin's POV

I walked out of the house with my brothers heading down to Sofie’s house. We were all going to watch movies and hang out like always. My brothers and I were kind of in a hurry though because it was about to storm pretty badly. We made it into Sofie’s house right before it started pouring. “Hey Sofie” I said out of breath. “Hi Kev! Why are you guys all so out of breath?” she said with her sweet smile. Joe decided to answer for me and sarcastically said “Ummm hello Sofe! IT’S POURING OUTSIDE! You know you are lucky we are such good friends or I would’ve said forget this. But NOOO I care so much that I came here in the rain and snow and lightning and…” “Joe” she cut him off. “It’s only raining, and I mean if you want to go home be my guest, but man it’s kinda wet outside…” she said grinning deviously. Joe took one look outside and immediately said “So let’s watch some movies. You know I love ya Sofe. Come on.” I followed him into our family room, as Kevin held my hand. I looked up at him to see why he did that. He looked at me almost awaiting to see if I thought it was okay. I smiled back letting him know it was fine. We walked in hand in hand and sat down. "Sofe you NEED a better movie collection. I don't want to watch any chick flicks!" Nick said. "Yeah Sofe come on!" Joe voiced. "Guys I have every single type of movie you can imagine. They aren't all chick flicks!" Sofie said standing up. There was a big roar of thunder and then some lightning. Before we knew it the power was out. "Ugh man. I hate the dark!" Nick said. "Dude can some one turn on the lights!?" Joe said. "Joe" Sofie said. "The power just went out. We need power to turn the lights on!" Joe looked at the floor "Oh yeah. My bad." I finally decided to speak up "I'll go find some candles and matches. Sofie can you come with me and help me find some. I mean it is your house." She looked up at me, or at least I think she did. It was pretty dark in the house now. "Yeah, I think there are some upstairs. Let's go." We both started to walk away when Nick spoke up "Well what do you want us to do while you two get candles?" I was ready to say something when she just said "I don't know guys. Be creative. Create your own fun. We won't be gone long." Hmm.. she handled that better then I would've. We got upstairs and as soon as we did I pushed her up against the wall and kissed her. She kissed back and pretty soon we were basically making out in her bedroom. "Kev" she said as I was kissing her neck. "Yeah Sofe what's up?" She looked at me "Are you sure you want us to be more then friends? Because I don't do friends with benefits. If we are going to kiss I want it to mean something to you." I looked at her with disbelief "Sofe, you don't think you mean something to me? You mean everything to me." She looked up and smiled. I looked back at her. Man was she beautiful. The way her dark, wavy hair fell on her shoulders, and the way her green eyes sparkled when she was happy, it was all so beautiful. "Sofie, you will always mean something to me. No matter what we are. but I was kinda hoping you'd want to be my girlfriend" I said looking her straight in the eye. "Of course I will Kevin." We kissed again. "WOAH!" We heard from the door and immediately broke apart. "Geez you think you know a guy!" I laughed that had to be Joe. "Joe is that you?" He walked in. "Um yeah, Nick is here too. What is this a new code word? Is 'I'm going to go look for candles' a code phrase for 'Let's make out'?" We looked at him not knowing if he was serious or joking but then he started laughing "I'm just kidding guys. Me and Nick were kinda hoping you two would finally get together. That's why we decided to stay downstairs, and then the power came back on so we figured you obviously weren't looking for candles anymore..." I silently thanked them for that. And I thanked God for my wonderful new girlfriend. We got off the bed and walked toward them and I finally said "Oh guys. I want you to officially meet my girlfriend Sofie." They smiled and we all walked back to the family room to watch movies. I sat on the couch first and Sofie sat down next to me and layed her head on my shoulder. Man did it feel good to have a girlfriend as awesome as her.
