Hey all! This is just a little one-shot i wrote on a whim. It was kind of the strangest thing in the world...i just sat down a wrote it.
It's not really written like a normal fan fic. It's supposed to be kind of like a letter, something like that, like a girl writing to her bestfriend who it seems like she has lost, but she still completely supports. sort of reminicing on old times. but really it can be whatever you interpret it to be.

I knew you way back when.
Back when boys had cooties and girls were gross.
I never thought you had cooties.
Did you know that?
Back when our biggest daydream was of what we were going to do after school.
I always loved going over to your house and eating after school snacks with you.
Did you know that?
Back when our imagination ruled the world, we could do anything, be anybody.
Remember when we climbed those trees and pretended to rule a bird kingdom?
I pretended I was your queen.
Did you know that?
Back when all our dreams were so big.
I wanted to be a famous archeologist and discover the next big thing.
Did you know that?
Back before reality hit the rest of us.
Not you.
You said you had to practice; you were going to be a big Broadway star.
Nobody took you seriously, but you did it anyway.
I really admired you for that.
Did you know that?
But Broadway wasn’t big enough for you; you needed the world.
I always thought you’d make a great rock star.
Did you know that?
It wasn’t always easy, but you had your brothers with you and your family behind you.
I always said a quick prayer too, just to be safe.
Did you know that?
Then you were diagnosed with diabetes, type 1 to be exact.
Joe fainted.
You were scared.
I was scared.
Did you know that?
But you said you would make the best of it.
And that you did.
You inspired so many people.
Including me.
Did you know that?
Your life is so exciting now, it’s everything you wanted it to be.
You never lost sight of your dream, even when the rest of us did.
I always knew there was something different about you.
Did you know that?
You’re life is so different now.
So many new things and new people.
I miss talking to you.
Did you know that?
Sometimes I still say a quick prayer.
I hope you don’t mind.
I figure you still need it.
Sometimes I wonder if you still remember me.

The trees in my backyard are still the same, incase you were wondering.
Whenever I look at them I think of you.

Now you’re on the top of the world and rightly so.
You’re dreams have become a reality.

I know your life gets hectic sometimes.
Whenever you need a friend, you know who to call.
