Ella's POV
I walked into the school wearing my normal: dark jeans, white black t-shirt, and black Converse tennis shoes. And also, as was the "norm", I got stared at by almost everyone. Well, everyone except a few Freshman who I glared at anyway. Then I spotted them.
By them, of course I mean the "In" crowd. It consisted of Cindy, the top popular girl, Caroline, her follower, Derrick, the top boy. Cindy and Caroline were cheerleaders, while Derrick was a football player. But today, there was a new face. A face that, sadly, I recognized. It was Joe Jonas, the hottest rock star I had ever seen in my life, whose beautiful face made my heart pound. I didn't see his brother, Nick, anywhere.
Here's the thing: my school had never gone crazy when a famous person started attending it. We had gotten used to it.
Crap. With a start, I realized I would have to walk past the populars to get to my locker and my first period class. I stopped for a moment, fixing my hair so that it covered my face, and walked towards what seemed like undeniable doom.
I made it to my locker without tripping over anyone; everyone always strayed away from the freaky goth/emo girl (which I really wasn't, I just dressed liked one). Except the popular crowd. As I stood, Cindy noticed. I hoped that she wouldn't say anything too nasty.
But, of course, she just had to stop me and say something cruel.
"Hey, Smella!" Caroline, who wasn't the best nickname-maker (or the smartest person) said.
"Shut up, Cary, and let me talk." Cindy said. Then she turned to me. "What's up? I thought goths couldn't go out in daylight."
"That's vampires, idiot. And for your information, I am NOT a goth. I just happen to dress and act like one." I said, my eyes moving on their own accord and up to her face.
"Whatevs. Like I care. We haven't studied Transylvania in Geography yet." Cindy said with a flick of her hand. I snickered.
"Just go away, Cindy. I don't need your crap right now." I said, trying to get past her.
"Not so fast," she said blocking my way. "Have you said hi to our new friend yet?" Cindy pointed slightly to... oh, no... Joe.
"Hi," I said blandly.
"Hey, Ella." he greeted me.
As I walked away, I realized that he had said my name. My actual name!
Oh. My. God.
