Chapter One:
Cheat: to be unfaithful. Nicolette read this definition straight out of the dictionary ten times in a row. She still could not believe that verb had something to do with her life; with the love of her life.
Dating Brian Zansky was every girl’s dream at Middleboro University. He had shaggy blonde hair, haunting blue eyes, and a body that could easily be mistaken for Zac Efron’s. Every single girl – older or younger – felt the need to be with him. If someone had a small conversation with him, they’d dump their current boyfriend, strongly believing that he loved her. Rumors had been spread that he was a player, but everyone refused to believe it. A guy that perfect could never have a reputation like that.
But he did.
Brian wasn’t your average two-timer though. He went out with three plus girls at a time, possibly sleeping with them when he had the chance. He snagged a girl almost everyday and from there on, he had them eating out of the palms of his hands. Lacking respect for all women in general, he’d normally take complete advantage of them. And this is exactly what he did to Nicolette.

They had been out on a third date, and she felt confident that she really could’ve been the on for him. Despite the rumors that had just blown around campus twice that afternoon, she happily ignored them. Going on with her day gracefully, Nicolette finally arrived back at her dorm two and a half hours before he was due to pick her up. She hopped into the narrow shower stall, using her yummiest smelling body wash and shampoo. After her quick shower routine, she wrapped a bathrobe around herself and plugged in her silver Conair hairdryer. She made sure it was pin straight; not a hair out of place. Brian had warned her that this date would be different than their last two. He had planned for them to go out somewhere less casual and much fancier.
Throwing on undergarments, she quickly looked about her closet for her dress. As she pulled it off of its hanger, she grinned widely at it. She’d chosen a black satin dress with only one shoulder strap. The woman who’d been working at the store for the particular shift told her that her neck was too long and elegant to pass down the opportunity to highlight it. A sucker for such lovely complements, Nicolette obliged and bought it for a fee of one-hundred and thirty dollars. Normally, she didn’t enjoy spending so much on something she’d never wear again, but she needed to impress Brian. He was her only hope of finding true love – so she thought. She slid the zipper up its thin course and spun a few times around for her full length mirror. There was no doubt in her mind that the lady who worked for the designer store was wrong in the tiniest way. The dress was truly stunning on her. She adjusted the strap and glanced at the clock, noticing that she only had forty five minutes left to do her make-up.
Nicolette hurried over to her vanity and pulled her cosmetics bags from a drawer in the side of it. She smoothed foundation for fair skin all across her face and rubbed her rosy blush into her well-defined cheeks. Following this, she smeared light brown eye shadow over her top eyelids, layered mascara onto her long eyelashes, and smudged eyeliner on her bottom eyelids. Quickly but perfectly, she pressed a nude lipstick against the middle of her lips and worked in the color.
With a quick flip of her dark brown side bangs, she smiled at her appearance, slipped on her silver peep-toe heels, and grabbed hold of her white, black and silver clutch.
Just as she approached the main corridors of her fairly large dorm, there was a quiet tap on the door. Nicolette tugged it open slowly, only to find Brian standing before her, clad in a silver suit with a white dress shirt and thin black tie. He looked even better than she did.
“You look absolutely lovely,” he gushed, kissing the top of her hand tenderly as he greeted her.
“Why thank you.” She gave him a flirtatious wink, trying not to come off co.cky. Nicolette had a certain way of doing that, even when it was unintentional. Let’s just say she was…over-confident with her personality and appearance. “You look amazing, Brian.”
He smiled, seeming genuine and kind unlike the rumors that were spread about him. Maybe he’s not so bad.
Comments?? xD Sorry that that chapter was sooo boring.
